You are a damn filmmaker... You know how to tell story and how to engage your audience.. Actually you made us travel along with you through this video. I wish this video never ends.
I’m a kiwi and I’ve never explored the west coast so I’m watching lots of video’s to plan my own solo road trip. This is very beautifully filmed and one of the best video’s I’ve seen showing the South Island!
Chase, your videos are so good. The pacing and storytelling are always on point. Not to mention your music choice to set the tone. New Zealand looks so awesome.
This was an awesome video that held my attention the entire time!!! The shots you got were beautiful, and you're a great story teller!!! So jealous, and planning a New Zealand trip now lol! Great work!!!
Oh man this video is devine, nothing else to say ! Perfect set up, perfect landscapes and perfect contents. Glad to finally came across this South Roadtrip Journey 🙌
Wow, this is something I’ve dreamed of doing for years! Road tripping and camping around New Zealand for a week or two, I’m so jealous! A statement and a couple questions: Subscribed because I really enjoy your filming/editing style; not disappointed!! Because I want to do this one day, hopefully within the next couple years: Did you have to book the helicopter rides and hikes online for specific dates? How did you navigate? Was it Google Maps or an ACTUAL map situation happening? Not sure what kind of signal you get out there, lol. Thanks for the video!! Really loved it ☺️☺️☺️
Thanks for watching! For the heli hike, we booked with this company - www.foxguides.co.nz/flying-fox-heli-hike/ Might have to reserve your spot in advance during the summer, but we had no issue booking two days before in the winter! For navigating - we bought a SIM card with 40GB of data, but don't expect to see much cell service. The towns and campsites will have some, as well as wifi (capped at a couple MB), but during the drives I had an offline save on google maps
Fantastic bit of filmmaking. Thank you for showcasing my Country in such a beautiful way. I hope you will return again one day. I don't know why you don't have 200k+ subscribers. You certainly deserve it.
My travel tip is try not to dlrive at night people coz you'll miss alot of amazing scenery in the south island and best seen by driving to west coast 1st then Queenstown milford Mt cook.
Were you not afraid? I mean just you guys and nobody. I’m doing this in 2022 August. I think it would freak me out. You guys did an awesome presentation. Bless you, you don’t make bacon you cook it lol. Loved your video. As a professional Voice over I know talent when I see it
Cows love listening to music they will follow the music so if u have a guitar or a radio they wouldn’t even complain if you sound like crap they love love love love love music they are bored please entertain them they are bored
How did you handle the drone regulations? I saw that you flew it in several forbidden areas, oops haha. Did you just have a look around and filmed when nobody was around or did you buy a license for each place to fly? I am going to NZ later this year and am trying to figure out how I can get as many cool shots as possible. 🙈
What an awesome trip and really well documented! I was worried if winter is a good season to visit NZ, but it looks splendid! May I ask which drone did you use and what is average budget for a 2week camper trip with a heli ride? Tia Great content - keep it up!
Thanks for watching! The helicopter was definitely a splurge haha, but cheaper in the winter. Around $300 USD, but was very much worth it and probably the reason I ended up becoming a pilot last year. Don't remember the total cost, but I believe it was under $2000 USD for everything. We also negotiated an off-season rate for the camper van at around $60 per night
I have a feeling something about your title is affecting the amount of views you’re getting. RU-vid SEO is weird. 5 Breathtaking Places To Camp In New Zealand 6 camp sites with gorgeous scenery in New Zealand 6 Places For Van Life In South Island Just my two cents :) amazing video with such creative little segments!
Hello! Love this video - can't wait to watch more. Very well done and edited. May I ask a question about using your drone in NZ? Did you need to get a permit to fly it, or were there areas where you could just pull over and launch it? On my next trip to NZ I'd really love to get some drone footage, but don't want to run afoul of the law! Thanks!
Thank you! I didn't need a permit at the time, not sure if anything has changed. There are a couple areas where flight is restricted, though. There's usually a sign, or there are some maps online
@@ChaseCostner Hi :) Just wanted to tell you that drone permits are required since I think 2015. So you would have had to buy one, depending on the DOC officers you might not get checked during winter ;) I just wanted to correct you a little bit ;)
It’s a stunning landscape. Don’t remember the exact amount, but I think the entire two week trip was under $2000 USD including airfare. The most expensive part was the helicopter tour, but it was so worth it
