What I love most about your shows Tim,is how you call it honest and straight without being arrogant or stirring up a hornets nest just to get attention and veiws.you are what world rugby is about.celebrating all teams without insulting the other and then celebrating the other team.absolute class act.thanks tim
Perofeta preferred over beaudy right now due to being in better match condition imo , Played in the final just 2 weeks ago and beaudy hasn’t played much at all , Most of the 23 if you run through them apart from ardie have that kind of very recent match conditioning but ardie is ardie Clarke nursing ribs , Blackadder underdone .
I believe that Razor would have studied the tape of the AB's disastrous draw with England at Twickers in late 2022, and would make sure that NEVER HAPPENS AGAIN. Ho ho, good luck England, ten years since you have been in NZ, please come more often!
@Tom_McMurtry we are pretty well covered as well, push comes to shove, and we can also push Rieko out one. We are really blessed with some amazing 3/4 depth
I agree - the collars in the pic look like they have been ironed to within an inch of their lives. Maybe once they're undone and rolled around on the paddock a bit, they'll look a bit less jesusy.
I can't wait for All Blacks v England, likewise with Springboks v Ireland. It's just such top level rugby this weekend. Stephen Perofeta is very good, his counter attack with running the ball back is very dangerous. With Sevu Reece and Mark Telea outside him, kicking to this back field for the All Blacks is going to be very risky. This All Blacks pack is a very powerful one, and with the players coming off the bench, England are going to be tested. But also, England will test the All Blacks as well.
Interesting how the ABs describe their bench - “Impact”. Really speaks to how the game has evolved and how it’s not just about the starting 15. Very often teams are holding back the best til last - like a good wine! Love the channel - best commentary and not afraid to say it like you see it. Congrats and can’t wait until Saturday!
Perofeta, I am surprised as well however, Steven, does something that can go unnoticed, when running from deep, or on the break he links with his outsides better than anyone, here in Auckland I have been watching him for a while and sometimes it’s a head scratch but if razor is looking to unleash the speed and deception merchants in the backline Stephen is your man.
Wow, you are underestimating Sevu Reece...and our new attack coach who has clearly had influence over SP at 15. It's cold down here, but Dunedin has a weatherproof stadium. No wind and a dry ball. Running rugby.
Another kiwi subscriber here...I enjoy your commentaries, spot on, to the point and some love and humour... It's a big game for us, and Razor...I trust him...I'm from Canterbury though...I'm looking forward to a good game👍👍
And Sevu Reese is outstanding - not sure about a few of your English selections, but understandable for an Englishman. Looking forward to you getting a deeper understanding of the quality of those boys this weekend 🤞
Reece has been on fire at the end of Super Rugby, I back him to do something special on Saturday after coming back from a bad injury, he is going to be hungry like those lions wandering around your lodge….
Jordie is comfortable stepping in at 1st receiver aswel, also gives nz another option to d mack n stephen p. Could be a long night for slade n Lawrence 🤷♂️
Tim would love to see you have a bit of a rugga talk with some of our Saffa pundits Megafoon is an awsome podcast and would love to see you gents pick each others brains before the Irish test
If you are picking Feyi-Waboso over Sevu Reece you've not being paying attention. Samipeni is going to give Marcus Smith a tough time. England have made remarkable progress since the terrible rugby before the WC and are playing a much more positive game. They are in with a chance but I reckon NZ by 6
@@sunshinecoastdetailing1822 True but Sevu Reece is proven at International level. He also looked very good on the wing of a team getting beaten all year which is impressive in itself. I don't know much about Feyi-Waboso but he obviously must have some talent.
@@jukeseyable Haka is a form of challenge and communication that vary from different iwi across NZ. New Haka are composed for all sorts of events and purposes.
@jukeseyable there's probably 100s of hakas mate, every tribe/sub tribe has there own variations. The maori all blacks haka is 10x better than the ABs. Also the kiwis rugby league team is 🔥
@@jukeseyablethousands of Haka. The one the ABs do is just the best known one world wide. The Ka Mate Haka was composed in 1820 by a war leader of the Ngati Toa iwi (tribe) called Te Rauparaha. He was fleeing his enemies from the Ngati Maniapoto iwi and the Waikato. He was given refuge on the shores of Lake Rotoaira at a site called Opotaka. He hid in a kumara pit. It was here that he was said to utter the words “Ka mate, ka mate, ka ora, ka ora”, continuing to compose the lyrics to the Ka Mate haka until his pursuers never found him and when Te Rauparaha emerged from the pit and was befriended by the tribe at Opotaka.
As a Springbok fan, I shudder to see the talent in the All-Black team. I support England in this game, and I believe Markus Schmith can keep Mac in check. I hope so. I hate to make John Kirwan happy with a win.
@@owenmckernon9513I think John's comments where he doesn't care about others feelings but just states a logic as to why he thinks what he thinks is useful and leads to insights that wouod otherwise be unsaid.
Giday Tim , A shout out to ' you and your Crusade here online, Your coverage is 100 + %, a great podcast Tim. On the eve of tonites game England V NZ , I think the respect for the english team is highas ever and it will be an interesting contest , best wishes mate , John (Crusader) nz
Perofeta is good under the high ball... The players picked no secrete high work rate players' mobile, this game will be played at speed knowing a Razor team.
Thats a view. Another view is that it appears quite retro/ traditional.? And that backs into a feeling that the breakdancer is hammering the squad about "recovering their values"= a high quality , effective against all-comers & to be admired style?? Its never about " the jersey" , its about your country. Win or lose.
The All black team is well selected.Finau is taller than Blackadder.Finau is great in the line outs. Finau is 6ft 5ins and 120kgs.This England team is a good team.Marcus Smith is good player. The All black front rowers are best in the world. We going smash this English at scrum time. Aumua is best running Hooker in the world and he can really scrum. The big question for the All blacks is can they keep their tackles down. They lost the World Cup because of poor tackle technique. Discipline is absolutely important. Can we keep all our players on the field???
Looking fwd to more wildlife vids, Tim. Definitely envious here. Very happy with the nz selection. It's a big pack. Expecting the rucks to be ferocious with these teams back rows. England will need to attack the nz lineout, which might be a little short, and deny nz quick ball there. Bring on Saturday!
@@lockk132 those young locks will need to step up to Int'l standard though. While we've been strong at lock for 12+ years, Whitelock and Retallick weren't challenged for their position until last season and imo, the next gen locks under tuipulotu and barrett are struggling with core roles at the lineout and ruck
Our six is a genuine line out option. At pinch so is our seven. Our eight lifted by a tall player has also worked well in the past. Word from my inside sources at the blues is the props hate lifting Patrick, but to me he looks as if he has fined down a bit this year.
I think you are being very kind with your combined 23 selection!! IFW and Ben Earl are the only guys who a NZ coach would pick if he had access to our players.
Fair play Tim I don’t know too much about the fresh faces in the AB setup as I don’t watch their club game, the fact that most in the know agree speaks volumes, the front row continues to be where you feel England will come unstuck again, really hoping this crop can step up and put that to bed once and for all until that happens we will struggle to consistently compete with top 4, excited for this.
Perofeta is just a temp fill in for Will Jordan, when fit. It’s a selection that will minimize squad rotation when Jordan is fit. Baeuden will be used as an impact player. Finau brings an extra line out option which is important to launch the way Razor will want to play. lol… Offa does have dick fingers. Reece was the best winger in super this year…. you nailed it, it’s all about work rate with the wingers.
stunning understanding of nz rugby, stunning understaning of rugby in general. spot on analysis, i would have had one or two more kiwis over thee nglish in the combined squad but i am extremely one-eyed like any kiwi. 🙂
Excellent no B.S commentary as usual. Agree with the All Black jersey remarks. They resemble a gathering of Amish preachers or Pilgrim fathers from New England in the Salem Witch days. Awful but hopefully can be unbuttoned for the classic look. Two great teams, World Cup winners and look forward to it. Best match this weekend.
I think this game will be closer than a lot of people imagine. England with convincing results mixing in with the best in the world, took SA to one point, Ireland and France 3 point games, all due respect to New Zealand they are the favourites but I think England will surprise a lot of people. Ofc it’s England though they could get pantsed as well.
@@ssmcfadyen8520 yeh 100% scrum is a weak area for us and NZ will have a better front row but I just think England have been building as well and given the notable absences from the NZ side I think we’ve got a real shot. I don’t think we’re favourites at all but I think the bookies having it at 12 points is crazy considering England’s past 6 results. NZ always have the edge though but I’m happy we’re underdogs, hoping for a cracking game and I’m sure it will be.
@Dihedrals totally agree with you. I think Abs will need to dig deep to win. England are a powerhouse and can beat any team on any day. No matter what happens, I'm hoping for an injury free, card free game.! ❤
I'm more or less happy with all your points, bar the Marcus Smith / DMc matter. I don't think the former can be mentioned in the same breath as the latter. DMc is, for my money, probably the best attacking 10 in world rugby right now, not least for being SO friendly when he lines up a kick at poles! 😂 Yep, this series is going to be very, very interesting indeed. The "new" England will certainly give the ABs a run for their money. Will Borthwick or Razor be triumphant? We'll just have to wait and see. GO ALL BLACKS! 😂 Cheers from South Africa chaps! 🇿🇦
i agree but mounga is better than both, crazy hes not playing international right now and is driving a bus down in dunedin for a radio show bring patrons from a bar to the stadium for the game lol
@@goldenak25 Yes - Mounga is the best 10 in World Rugby right now and it's a loss to the world game that he's not playing at Test level - but it's what happens when Rugby is a professional sport and NZ is a small economy at the bottom of the world and NZ Rugby is trying to hold on to home grown talent and only picking players based here. Mounga playing in Japan is a bit like Hendrix playing down at the local open mic.
Sevu Reece was a monumental player this year in Super. He was Joint top try scorer and the Crusaders didn't make the finals (so he played 3 less games...) and his defensive work was massive. Easily the best crusaders player this season. Caleb Clarke has a rib injury.
Im a kiwi, and if we lose it’s gonna be disastrous for Razor’s tenure. The country will go into mourning and flashbacks of Fozzie PTSD will begin to leach into our national psyche. Possibly, the new ABs jersey collar is a hedging of bets with God and Razor
Nah, Razor would be fine. It'd be way too early for mourning and wailing - he needs to start somewhere and he's only had 10 fecking days. Us ABs fan would just have to suck it up.
Finau is a 3rd lineout option, Perofeta is a conservative pick, distributes and organises well. But I look forward to when we have Jordan available or an attacking threat like Love. Mounga will be lured back and likely Frizzell hopefully.
Its a very strong NZ team picked on form. The Blues were commanding in the later stages in Super Rugby, with Tuipolotu leading. The front 5 is pretty decent and Finau is a real bruising 6 so the back row battle will be immense. In the backs plenty of talent and pace and any misdirected kicks will be punished. All in all a great game is in store if England go on the offensive and not revert to their kicking game.
Picked on experience and form. I think Razor is very big on the mental skills and leadership skills of players - how they react under pressure and think on their feet to respond to shit that happens on the field. Experience counts for a lot in those situations. Can't wait for Saturday!
love a collar on a rugby shirt, Would love to see the All Blacks start off the Razor era with a win, but your English lads will provide a stern examination. That's why they're call Test matches.
Picking Beauden Barrett on the bench may be a signifier that he is there directly challenging DMac for the Fly Half role. The full back slot is also notable by the players who AREN’T there currently. Reuben Love and Will Jordan especially.
Love you and your content Tim, but really can't abide by Smith over McKenzie at all. Will chalk it down to rose tinted glasses for now. (Irish fan btw)
It will considered as a success for both Ireland and England if they get just 1 win. Think England has beaten NZ at home a couple times throughout history but Ireland has only ever beaten SA once in SA and realistically I think a draw is the goal for both NH teams. If Eng and Ire both loose the 2 tests then there's going to be alot of negative talk about it.
Really looking forward to see how Fin Baxter copes with test rugby - hopefully not misplaced optimism!! Lots of great match-ups: Savea vs Earl; Barratt vs Itoje; Smith vs McKenzie to name but three...
Quite surprised by the wing selections, until you remember that England are embracing the rush defence. If you are looking to kick pass, dink and grubber through to wings, and have those wingers win the one on one, I think those two are the best in NZ. I wonder if this gives us a glimpse into the probable tactics.
Caleb Clarke was hurt in the super rugby final (ribs) might be out because of that. but IMO the wings are back to front Tale'a played 14 all year and Reece played 11 all year. Baudie is a great player but is getting long in the tooth bringing him on in the last 20 is the safe bet
Another thing to add i think it should be dmac and anton lienard brown starting as they play so well together for the chiefs kinda like the moanga and will Jordan connection.
I agree that the NZ front row are pretty awesome but your fear seems to be based on the world cup semi final where Genge and Sinckler came on. Cole and Baxter are the replacements here and both can scrummage well so maybe not all doom and gloom ?
