Love these reviews with all the tools etc, am impressed. Well done techne very creative 👏 Also are they doing wired version? Some of us old bones still like wired mice
the thermal cam is a super neat touch! appreciate the super thorough and detailed review, makes sense for something complex like a mouse shape : ) subbed
Thank u so much. I’ve been doing thermal in many of my recent vids as well (new pulsars, beastx and so on) just if I wanna see any others. Thanks again ❤
@@TheTechne fs man i looked at a few other mouse videos from you and thats honestly a nice touch, idt other reviewers are doing that but its such an good way to convey where you rest the palm. smart fs
I like that they give 2 recievers and 1 of them doubles as a charging dock since it helps justify the price, im kinda surprised they didnt do 2k though because im sure zowie has the know how to make that implementation rock solid like logitech
Awesome review Techne! Gotta love the thermal cam, nice little addition to the videos and gives a clear perspective of hand contact. Gonna have to pick one of these up, love Zowie and U2!
Great review man. You make a relatable point around the 4:30 mark with regards to wider smaller mice. I’ve noticed the same thing and maybe it’s because I have abnormally wide hands? The dream for me is really just the Zowie EC2-CW exactly how it is shape wise but wider in the right most direction. The EC1 is too big for me but the EC2 is a bit too small specifically with regards to width. Someday if Zowie ever opt to make an EC1.5 / EC2L in between the 1 and 2 in size that’d be my dream end game and a day 1 buy.
was about to pull the trigger on EC3-CW, then the U came into my scope... cant decide which would be best, i have been using Deathadders for at least a decade since back in 2012 my SS sensei at that time caused alot of thumb pain after extended usage, too bad tho cause i felt i was really good with it, so i never went back to a symetrical/amph mouse after that regardless of poorer performance in any fps game i tried. my only complain about deathadders was the weight and that it was a bit to big for my hand so switched to the DA2mini but then that was way too small, so i thought the EC3 would be the sweetspot ...now the zowie U came out and it seems totally different design and id love the even lower weight vs the EC-W series. would it work... idk
Hey Techne! Good to see you are doing well, man. I was wondering if you are still using the Razer Blackwidow V4 75%, and if you have experienced any issues with it?
You should think of testing the flatness of mice because i have had 9 fk1-c replaced for having a banana base and the glide is terrible, they really did not design the C series lineup well at all. I have also found some of glorious mice are not flat either. I dont see any reviewer on youtube testing this and i think its super important to the glide experience. Anyone can check their c series mice by placing a metal ruler longways on the base and at the rear 90% of the foot does not touch the pad and the gap is huge. Zowie responded to my findings saying it was within their tolerances, what a joke for over 1mm gap.
Every mouse company should make a cheap demo mouse for each model so that people could buy those cheap demo mouse to see if they like the shape or not.
130$ is pretty expensive, but considering that the skates will be updated to 100% ptfe and the buttons might be separated from the shell (plus you get that big obelisk dongle which looks cool), I'd say it's a fair price.
@@fwabble No worries. There is no way I'm buying it. The shape is not for me, the mousewheel sucks, and the buttons not being separated from the shell is a complete no-no for me.
hi, how are u? i have a question. i try a lot of mouse but i cant fined my king yet. i have a problem with my pinky finger that make hurts after long time gaming. what am i doing? which mice is good for me? i try g305, g502, gpx superlight, g502x, g303 shroud, basilisk v3, viper 8k, deathadder essential, steelseries prime. i hope that u can help me in this
I love the driverless nature of Zowie mice. Set it and forget it and no bloatware on your PC like iCUE and Synapse, which it feels like update every day - it drives me nuts 😂
The only thing stopping me from buying it is the price. I could care less about money. But spending that ammount on a gaming mouse is insane in my opinion
hope this release does not integrate za , s and fk shapes into only this one symmetrical shape for the zowie wireless lineup. We still need fk wireless, that classic mid hump low profile design, fk3 size would also be really cool to see.
I just tried this mouse. I can say that the coating feeling is great, it gives a very good grip feeling. I have the Razer deathadder V3 Pro, but I don't like its coating quality, I have to constantly correct my grip grip again and again, it feels rough and the Razer seemed big and long. The length of U2 is quite good, my hand is 18.5x10.5cm. Zowie U2 fills my palm very well, my thumb position is perfect, but since the right side was too thin, I couldn't place my pinkie finger as I wanted. I hold relax claw or pincer claw. So which mouse do you think I would be more comfortable with? Would you recommend Vaxee, endgame or pulsar models?
Hello man thanks for the review. Quick question, my hand size 185x105mm and using hybrid or relaxed claw grip. What would you do recommend. Endgame Op1we or sora v2 or zowie u2 or maybe vaxee np-01/np-01s? Also if I go ergo mouse could be vaxee outset ax 4k. I'm using razer deathadder V3 Pro atm but it feels longer and wider so its bulk for me and making in pain to my elbow. I like the hump backword against middle. Therefore I can't locked in from the palm. Thanks for the advice in advance.
One word without even watching. Price. This is a BASIC RUN OF THE MILL FPS ORIENTED GAMING mouse in 2024. It's worth £80 tops. My Lamzu Thorn cost me £88 DELIVERED in 2023. I know I am going to laugh uncontrollably when I hear the price.... It's TWENTY TWENTY FOUR - that's fkn SPACE AGE DATE. This is a BASIC 5 BUTTON MOUSE that does it's job. I'll be interested to hear your thoughts on the scroll wheel and how it's improved over the absolute WORST scroll wheel I may have ever used on the ECX-CW
@@TheTechne shape is 1:1 copy of Lamzu atlantis mini, just the sides are less curved to be more of a safe shape, and the hump is more in the middle than Lamzu so that You can fingertip it easier. NOT WORTH more than 90$. Even for a zowie quality of a build.
@@piopo7688 Great to see people's eyes opening. I feel like Morpheus when Neo asks him - am I dead? I have watched the evolution/regression of mice for 24 years - I started with a ball mouse and I am still at it. First was MS Optical 1.1 and I have had just about every top tier performance oriented mouse out there.
@@TheTechne Like I said to piopo - 24 years. And "new unique shapes is not found anywhere else." is a HAAAAARD SELL as a 'for EXTRA COST YOU GET....!!!! ANOTHER SLIGHT VARIATION OF AN AMBI MOUSE!' Little tip btw - there's only one way to really, REALLY test a mouse for FPS - 10 games of Valorant TDM - for 10 days. That's 100 matches. NOT DEATHMATCH, NOT another game 'in it's place' - VALORANT TDM, 10 games per day, 10 days. Give that a shot ;D (No pun) That's a genuine tip, you'll start noticing some nuances you never new existed when you've done it with several mice. I am hard to impress mate being my history, it's the price that will dictate how impressed I am with this mouse. Like it did with the Attack Shark X3 when I paid £33, delievered to my door. I know you think me harsh - I can't be sorry for my honest opinion. I have been stung enough to watch and learn, if I can save even a handful of the lesser experienced folk, that's a huge success. My current mains; EspTiger QingSui 3 Pro/Lamzu Thorn. A hard to beat combo for - almost every shooter, but absolutely 100% for tac (CS2/Valorant)
If it's not 40-60 grams it's just not for me. That's not say it's bad, zowie is a great company, but my main game is ow2 and as a genji player I need a crazy light mouse. Still, good mouse, tho, good coverage as usual
Genuinely think you must have a preference. Just as I do. Light mice with 2 buttons for me are useless. Mmo mouse 12 buttons 89 grams. Not useless. For me it doesnt matter any game, 2 buttons is never enough. Mmo mice have 12 buttons Even if you only use half that's 4 more than 2.
@@hayden1255 I play games like siege, that have leaning mechanics, grenades, flashes, drones. I have every one of those programed to a side button. press 1 for crouch 2 for lean left 3 for lean right 4 for grenade 5 will enter drone, 6 will throw a new drone 7 is stun/flash. Thats all I use in siege. Everything is programmed in a way that i don't mis click and I remember exactly what key does what so its quick too. I also have all of this programmed on the keyboard too, so if I need to lean and I'm using my grenade hotkey on my mouse, I can still do so on keyboard with q and e and crouch with c, etc. My thumb tip rests on 2/3 the pad can hit 5/6 and i move my thumb down for 1/4/7 depending on if i need crouch grenade or flashes. I like having crouch or jump on the mouse too. It all depends on the game. for games i use this they typically don't have lean so 2/3 are available. I just could not ever use only 2 buttons after having an mmo mouse for years. Again its just preference. if its weight. the SteelSeries makes an 89gram 12 button mmo mouse. that's pretty light considering it has 12 buttons. I don't like mine heavy but I also don't like them super light, I'm really somewhere in the middle, which is why I think the mmo mouse is perfect for me.
Another 2 side button mouse. Explain to me why you get a mouse with only 2 side buttons. Even if you get a steelseries 12 buttons side mouse its 89 grams. A 40gram mouse with 2 side button's isnt as usefull, if you use just half the buttons in a 12 button mouse you still have 4 more buttons than these 2 button mice. Mmo mice are better. I use the corsair scimitar. 2 buttons is never enough not for ANY game also its half the price (on sale)
@@somebody6282 Shewwww I don't know where to go from here. Or maybe, this is a Comment to a reply that replies to the comment I commented on then replied to. 🤯
@@TheTechne yeah, but remember Lamzu can provide a smooth 4k experience on the same type of sensor for 2/3 of the price. Zowie (very big company) releases a mouse with the same sensor as Lamzu a YEAR later, and still can't provide even 2k implementation? Is that a joke? How long should we wait for Zowie to just catch up, not even to win the mice market again.
2 button mice are useless in every game. You set yourself at a disadvantage compared to someone using an mmo mouse, like the 89 gram steelseries. I use corsair scimitar and have no reason to upgrade. Icue software is already used for my pc fans anyway so it's a bonus that it's the same software for my mouse.
