NewAir sent me their 14,000 BTU Portable Air Conditioner & Heater Model AC-14100H for review and I had a fun time checking out all of its features and putting it to the test. Overall, it performs very well, and was painless to set up and use. I am asking a lot of it to cool my entire garage, but it is so nice to have inside the house as well, in any room around 500 square feet. My favourite feature is that it can switch between heating and cooling automatically as you just set the temperature. Check out the links and there you can find other reviews as well.

And as always, stay tuned for more videos on the cars you see in this one!

Welcome to summer, greetings from San Diego!! This is my last product review of the year. It's time to get back to work. I know I have been late with more Volvo content, but it was a very productive year for me on the stage, but *FEAR NOT* the Volvos will be continued! I am about to release my 5 part BMW Z4 restoration. Stay tuned, my friends. Thank you for your support.

These portable A/Cs work well. I fitted one to my son's rented apartment that had large windows on the west and consequently got hotter than hell in summer. You're right to keep that concertina outlet pipe as short as possible. If the unit is cooling the concertina contains the hot air to be exhausted outside. And naturally the exhaust heat leaks back into the interior. Very bad for efficiency. I suggest some thermal insulation around the concertina once the unit has been set up.

Very good product. Sounds like the case is made for insulating the garage, starting with the doors. These portable units are not as good at cooling as a window unit, but they certainly work to cool specific areas.

hi, thanks for the review. Did you have to put a separate 20 Amp line to use this unit or did you just plug this unit into a regular wall socket ?

I don't understand how this unit can cool, without having to drain it periodically? When ever cooling takes place, water is ringed out of the room air, and usually an Evaporator coil will have a drain. Why is the draining of the liquid not talked about?

Alan Petersen when it was humid the drain would fill up, and require periodic draining, otherwise it’s usually 0% humidity in New Mexico so there was nothing to drain

@@DavidBello How does this unit use the water canister?

In the summer, the building a/c went out in my mom's apartment building. I got her a portable unit similar to this. Even when the inside humidity was in the 80% range, there was no build up of water. The condensate collects in an open topped tank. The hot air blows over that to take the moisture out, the exhaust. It worked great. When I put the unit away for the winter, there was no water to drain. At 10,000 BTU, it was not quite as powerful as the one David reviewed, but it kept the 1 bedroom apartment comfortable even when the outside temperature was in the high 90s Fahrenheit.
