Newark Earthworks is the largest group of earthen enclosers in the world and has been designated a UNESCO-protected site along with the Great Pyramids, the Taj Mahal & the Great Wall of China since 2023. Join me for a tour of all three of these amazing structures built by the Hopewell Indians 2400 years ago.

When I get out to Granville I’m planning on stopping by to see the mounds. It’s really interesting to think of how they accomplished all that.

It’s amazing that they did that.

Glad you enjoyed the visit to the Earthworks. Newark was my hometown, and I lived not far from the mounds in Heath and the little Wright mounds. They were fascinating to me when I was younger.

The mustache is cool, but I'm also replaying RDR2 so the Dutch look works 4 me.

I did my grandson's ancestry last night and found out that his father's family were the first pioneers in Licking County and were the first white people to lay eyes on the Newark Mounds......, which is how I ended up here!!! I would LOVE to set him up a field-trip fundraiser for the search of his roots Thanks for the tour!!!!!

I am an Ohioan and have been to the Great Serpent Mound, but never to this one or the others. It's terrible these sites were not respected and preserved better.

I'm from Baltimore and have been to Serpent Mound, because I have a friend that lives neat there. I found this location, because my grandson's 8th great-grandfather was the first to find it in 1800. The lunar knowledge that he is talking about was practiced when the English arrived - they celebrated the first New Year in Maryland on March 25th 1634. A DEATH CULT delivered the January new year and worship of death - the mission was to create a new world by destroying everything natural.
