Glad you guys made it out ..but many innocent men women and children have lost their lives in the bricks for no reason so..that's not always necessarily true....peace
He should have went through the Weequahic section. Chancellor ave, Lyons ave, Bergen st, Elizabeth ave, Hawthorne ave, Clinton pl, and etc. Hard body in the Southward.
18th st, Clinton Ave, even the main street Springfield Ave got some nasty spots, Grove St, Nye Ave, sooo many, the place is a dumb I grew up the town over Irvington
Take a ride through Newark and it’s much worse looking than this. You’re guaranteed to have shit sticking on your tires or get a flat every single night along with stepping on shit as you get out your car.
That video you uploaded couple years ago for Newark NJ I remember it was so grimey in the day time just unwelcoming hood so much on pointness thanks for the new upload !
Born and raised in Brick City in the 80's. I was the only chico on the block so I did alot of scrappin to prove my own. But besides all the violence I saw and the hard moments I lived, I made it out. Graduated Rutgers and now living in Seattle. Miss my home
I was the only white kid in my grade and it was catholic school. The black guys would kick my ass for being white the nuns would kick my ass for fighting and then the Irish beating at home because" I made the nuns beat me". By 4th grade that didn't happen anymore. 20yrs later I'm back down here again. Downtown has 2k studio apartments and doorman buildings . Stay out of any number with south and you good
North Newark still has a few crews but none of them live there. Mcmansions in Morris and Sussex County. The port obviously still is "influenced" by different groups but it's not just Italians. Irish, Russian, polish etc. The many saints of Newark sucked!
@@irishmike4914 I was out there for Christmas and a good friend of mine owns a house in Forest Hills close to the big park. I even went to the Newark Brewery in downtown. Good stuff
@Helen Firth a hand to hand transaction or me giving you something in exchange for money basically you can make a drug deal look like a handshake sometimes
Frfr Newark been doing this club shit before Philly or Florida we was doing this club shit with BMORE and look at JerseyClub right now everybody listens to it
there are some of the nicest areas in that county literally minutes away, things change quickly he really could make one like that. The essex county socioeconomic layout is very interesting.
This depends on where u live tbh. I live In Newark/North Vailsburg which is considered a bad neighborhood but Seton Hall University is 5 minutes away at the same time lol
@@RecapRico When you're on South Orange Avenue Sadly you can tell when you're leaving South Orange and heading back into Newark. The block goes from decent looking right back into ghetto looking then you'll be like "we're back in Newark again!" Word up!
Lol, no its not. Crime is up, but its compared to historic lows that the city has seen the last 5 years. Population increased the last two census, and new homes and businesses are literally moving in like crazy. It hasn't hit the neighborhoods this video went to, but areas like lower Broadway have seen a huge increase in development and safety and you are starting to see more of the central ward improving. Maybe it's time to go around the whole city and not just the west and south ward
I live in Newark I know it’s bad from hear say or the news. I thank God I’ve never encountered any bad or crazy situation…. Can’t wait for the day I get to say I use to live here…
The problem is Newark ain't gotta improve it's a mega hub for a lot of things it's neighbor to jersey city and Hudson county Newark will ever remain Newark a city of change with all it's problems and it remains growing and thriving jersey city went from a railroad slum city to the city of jersey it should be the capital but that's just my opinion but Newark deserve it's credit too
Half of JC is still a mess. Dont equate what happens near the river with the rest of the city. Its far from being NJ's destination city when it still has to use Newark for any infrastructure, cultural events, etc
i moved to wyoming and left new jersey in 1976.. i never looked back or considered ever living in that state again.. people are still okay. great food. but man, you gotta be rich to live there.. and the traffic..no thanks!!!
I’ve been to Wyoming. Most normal people don’t want to live in such a rural environment. If Jersey is not to your taste, you could move to Pennsylvania and many Jersey people have actually done that. You don’t have to be an extremist and switch to Wyoming unless if it fits your personality
Born and raised in Newark Hayeshome and Prince st projects!! Never thought in a million years it will turn out like this, now I’m praying to God to leave this place! The young ppl shooting and killing each other like life has no meaning smh🤦🏽♀️ prayers 🤲🏽 Ya Allah we need you🤲🏽🤲🏽
Good tour of The Bricks, imagine if all of the old projects like Prince st, Scudder, Hayes, 7th Ave, Dayton st, Seth Boyden, Lil Bricks, Bradley Court, Baxter Terrace, Brick Towers and Grafton were still up. Now that would've been a tour of the REAL Newark. I think the only ones left are Hyatt, Pennington, Crane, The Spires and Georgia King Village. I have great memories growing up in Brick City.
Spent many of weekend nights at the Mink, bar hopping to Queen of Sheba,Coachmans,Sunshine,A&R. Going up the hill to Muggs. Uncle sals & knockouts can't forget Vanity before they closed down for good were the days left jersey in 2018. Still come back to visit often nothing like jersey I tell you that much. When you love where you from it stays in your heart forever. However providing your family a better life & safer environment is priceless 👌🏾
Im 54 born and raised in Newark high school graduate and never been locked up beileve it or not had a few close calls i just moved to ohio had nothing to do with my city 💰 💰 if you know what i mean
This fool is crazy he going to pull up on Clinton avenue to see what's going on in front of liquor store and pull off tf. Go on Avon an 10th an do that
@@aliciapinkcotarot yes it is the worse city is Baltimore then New Orleans then St.Louis & Detroit Chicago is down the line it’s all proven facts & stats do your research ! Baltimore is the worst city in America!

Sometimes I wish we can take a time machine and go back cause the 1990s 2000s Newark was different poverty was worse violence was worse projects buildings was everywhere 50 niggas on every corner a preacher was talking on a blow horn tryna save ppl Newark is nothing now it’s still bad but n out even close
New Jersey it is a pretty good place in all honesty it does have some real hoods to be honest but that's what makes New Jersey New Jersey in all honesty
Newark is my city for many, many years now and I wouldn't dream of living anywhere else. If people can't make it work here, then it's just not possible anywhere.
It doesn’t make any sense at all. When you say if people can’t make it work here than they won’t anywhere else ? How is that possible if anywhere else is a lot better and people live better than this shit hole place. Always crime. It’s dirty.
It’s sad like what if you’re 12-13-14, Black, and don’t carjack or rob? The culture and fear of “acting white” is just too overpowering, it’s not worth the aggravation and peer pressure they will face for not “acting black”.
I find these comments so laughable. "Take a gun" all that nonsense. Just use common sense, mind your business, keep your head on a swivel. Newark isn't that bad.
@@JoeyDNetsfan You should never "Love to dislike or hate". Hate'n is bad for the HATER not the HATED. Because every minute you spend hate'n on somebody is 60 seconds away from your own happiness. You could have just came here to watch the video (which was your intended purpose) and go your way but you got distracted by a "RU-vid comment" and decided to hate instead. Everybody that sees your comment will know you're a hater at heart. Joe, by looking at your name and your picture, you dont belong here. You only came here cause you hate New Jersey hoods. Man, just a little game. Now you know, have a good day. ✌🏼
you should do south street late at night and see how many businesses are operating late at night so that they can pollute the air with chemical poisons during the night whilst everyone is sleeping and the air quality inspectors don't work at night! Newark is a City of Crime and Mayor Ras Baraka is as relaxed as he can be about it because he knows his people will re-elect him no matter how little he does! I always tell people that I live in "Anything Goes - Newark, New Jersey"!
Newark was much more dangerous in the 90’s. There was bank robbery gun point, worst gangs, etc. But before the PEOPLE didn’t have cameras 🎥 to show how was like to live here.
Damn only 9 Seconds in and Right @0:09 there is a Drug Transaction Happening (oh boys to the right against the wall) LMAO .. at Mercedes and Minks HAHA
Ayo do a video up on park Ave and Parker st I was born a raised there, my family still live on the corner house. I would like to see what it looking like now.
It goes down in forest hills too.....those Stephen crane Boyz is literally inches away across the park....u can get rocked over there too......no where in Newark is safe.....I'm soon to be 39 yrs old and I was born n raised here and is still here in Newark......facts.......I'm every bit of a NEWARKER FOR REAL
