Newbie Rockhounding Neck Point Park Nanaimo Vancouver Island - Searching for agates  

I've recently become interested in rocks, gems and minerals. Living on Vancouver Island provides me with access to many beaches, rivers and lakes. In this video, I look for agates in Nanaimo, however, I find mostly quartz. As a beginner, rockhounding is easy, but identifying the rocks is very difficult. I have a couple of rock identification books, but I am still not able to tell the difference between many types of rocks. For any experienced geologists or rockhounds, if you know the type of rocks in this video, I would love your expert comments. Enjoy!
