Rockhounding Vancouver Island - finding flowerstones, dallasite and jasper 

I am a beginner when it comes to identifying rocks and minerals. As I explore Rockhounding along the east coast of Vancouver Island, this video shows a variety of rocks and stones that are unique to the beaches of this Canadian coastline. Some include dallasite, flowerstones - also known as porphyry. In some places, these stones are also called chrysanthemum stones and chinese writing stones. I also find other unidentified specimens and some other more common rocks such as jasper and chert.
