Than you so much for sharing this rare footage of a newborn immediately after the daytime birth..that is somewhat unusual!! I wish you had filmed longer...I know I would have been willing to watch for much longer..
Mummy got her new baby some come to see what she got he or she baby is very cute good video thank you for sharing the new born got very long tail goodess
God Bless these sweet, precious miracles called baby's & infants. Lord, look over & protect this innocent creature & it's Mom. The birth just happened as you can see the umbilical cord @ :14 - :20. Believe it's the Mom's first child as she's jumpy & holding the baby upside down @ first.
Well..maybe not her first...all moms are jumpy immediately after the birth as this is when they are the very most vulnerable...that is why it is so very rare for them to give birth during daylight hours like this...so this is unusual... and as far as her holding him upside down..that is not unusual either as she is still cleaning all of the afterbirth and stuff off of him and they will turn them whichever way is easiest to clean them..now if she were to continue to hold him awkwardly later on then that might indicate her lack of experience but with vervets even if it is their first baby if they are living in the wild in a normal troop situation (which this one seems to be) then the females already have a ton of experience with infants as vervets are well known for the juvenile females "stealing" babies and doing lots of babysitting!! By the time they become mothers themselves vervets usually already have much practice and you would never be able to see their inexperience!! : ) Just some thoughts if you are interested...
