I'm so glad she acknowledged her viewers who aren't mums and or pregnant. That's meeeee. I'm 21 and honestly still very immature but I love watching these videos. Maybe I'm just nosey
Love that you said fed is best. I had a lot of trouble breastfeeding my son as he wouldn’t latch. I found it so stressful and really hard with the different nurses trying to help me at the hospital as they all had different techniques of what was ‘best’. I was able to exclusively pump for 5.5 months. The stigma and shame some place on mother’s who formula feed really breaks my heart as you just don’t know anyone’s story. Breastfeeding doesn’t come easy to everyone. I’m 19 weeks pregnant with my second child so these videos have been so fun to watch while I’m on the same journey :)
100%!! A lot of my friends formula feed for numerous different reasons and I think every mum should follow their gut and look after their mental health first!!
@Alison Bolton I’m so glad you had amazing support from your husband. Your poor cousin that would have been extremely stressful for her having a mum with such strong views on formula feeding. Heartbreaking.
Couldn’t agree more! A lot of nurses are not “educated” in formula either so they refuse to give advice and really push breast. I had similar issues with health nurses when I was switching to formula because I had no supply (and yes I tried everryyyyythingggg) A very very negative and anxious experience.
This was very interesting to watch. I’m not a mum (one day I will be), but even as a young adult it’s nice to know what is good and what to think about for later on. I hope that made sense but it seemed you had a massive list and I would love to see a part 2 of this! If you can. I hope your doing well and had a beautiful weekend. Cannot wait to see your bump grow and the newborn videos to follow. Much love xx😊💗
I loved our halo bassinet. It went right beside the bed and one side could come down when picking up our babe to breastfeed. It also had a light and vibrations that really helped our daughter overnight. I’d highly recommend that bassinet for anyone in need! It’s also height adjustable for different bed heights.
Hey, so you were talking about having your mom sew extra fabric around the nursing pillow to attach to your waist - they actually have a product called “my breast friend” nursing pillow that sounds exactly like something your looking for. It buckles around your waist so it’s pretty secure. I have one, personally didn’t use it much with my first baby but I kept it & will be trying it again with baby #2! Hope this is helpful! 💕
For the bottles, I would suggest going to the store and buying single bottles. Not the 3 pack of one particular brand. Get 3 or 4 brands and 1 single bottle of each. The baby will decide what bottle it likes. Then once baby decides order a few more. For the swaddles, the Velcro swaddles are the best. I bought nursing tank tops off of Amazon, they have a spot in them that you lift up, or some have zippers. Then I didn't have to worry about wearing layers for my stomach to not show. We have 4 girls, youngest is 1 and I still love watching these videos! Idk if we are done having kids or not but it's fun to see all the products.
My baby was always being work up with Velcro. We switched to The Miracle Blanket from Target and it worked like a charm. I hated when he would pee through it cuz he slept so good! That was our fave fave fave 😍
@@caritasdecaro8019 my babies actually didn't like being swaddled. They wanted their arms up my their head so I did the baby sack from the start. Now they have the zipper sack thing that they can fit their arms up a little bit. The only thing with the Velcro is it's so loud!
I know that in a previous video you said this baby could have some health issues, my advice would be to have some button press onesies in case they need to be in special care or nicu. Our Bub had a few cords and the button onesies allowed us to cuddle her without tubes/line all around her face 😍 I was like you and didn’t buy any so day two in special care the nurse recommended them for her comfort and ours. The bonds cozy suits where the best because the button are right to one side!
My boyfriend and I have decided we want to start trying for a baby and I have been full on diving into anything baby related. For me this video was very helpful! I can’t wait to meet your beautiful bubba!
I also used those Old cloth nappies for burping. But I didn’t use the Terry toweling ones, I used the thinner softer ones. And I also used them in the bassinet, I folded them in half, long ways and tucked it in at the top where their head/mouth is, so that if the spit up abit or just what ever, then ur not changing the sheets every day as all u do is take the dirty cloth off and put a clean one on. I found it was a game changer and ur not washing bassinet sheets every day. I hope that makes sense 😍😍 Sending u so much love from Melbourne, vic ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
I’m not a mum. YET. However I really enjoy watching this stage of your life Sarah and these helpful tip videos! Just creating a memory bank of all these tips for just in case 😁. Thank you for sharing this journey of yours with everyone.
I literally bought all of those exact products for my baby and have changed my mind about all of them! Had to use weights on the bassinet legs to tilt her upwards, switched to zip up sleep suits instead of muslin wraps, got a sound machine that was rechargeable and used towel nappies for birth cloths! 100% agree with this video 😁👍🏻
Love trying to repurpose the breastfeeding pillow! Just a thought - the knot in the back will probably be uncomfortable when sitting in a chair/bed/etc. I used a 'my brest friend' nursing pillow with my son and loved it. It has adjustable straps that snap in place. I used to wear it right under my boobs and joked that it was my concession stand lol. Maybe altering your current pillow to be more in line with that design? Congrats on baby boy!
We used our Boppy as a pillow for us to sleep with after I was done using it for BF. I wasn’t crazy about it during my BFing journey but I LOVE it as a sleeping pillow for naps on the couch or whatever. Lol 😂
Truuuuuue good call! I’m really keen to repurpose as much as I can rather than buy new so maybe I’ll see if my mum can make it velcro instead of a tie!??
@@SarahsDay Yes the my Brest friend is soooo good! maybe do velcro coming off the body of the pillow on one side and a snap (side release buckles, I don't know what the proper term is) on the other, that's kind of how its set up. The snap/buckle is quiet if you need to get it off near baby while he is asleep.
I loved my 'tutti bambino' co-sleeper bassinet- has the fold down side you spoke about and is bigger than a moses basket so lasted my daughter about 5 months. 100% recommend, can easily adjust the height for reflux bubbas too. And 'snuggle honey' fitted bassinet sheets fit perfectly too.
We had the snuzpod and loved it, especially being able to hold his hand at night! We always used it with the reflux bar in place so he was tilted slightly. He is tall and had out grown it by 5 months but up until then he had plenty of room.
This is so helpful for expecting mums! My friend (non mum) got me a firm breastfeeding pillow, that has a clip so it can go around your body. AMAZING! I’m glad I didn’t settle for a u pillow as others had suggested
I'm currently in my 4th month of motherhood and breastfeeding. You truly do dictate your wardrobe based on...accessibility 😅 Loved this video Sarah, great tips in here! I will never forget thinking of your labor and delivery video with fox where you said "bring on the pressure" as I was going into the hospital to deliver my little guy. You are so inspirational in so many aspects of my life now, I really feel like you're a close friend that I can't wait to catch up with. ❤
I’m not sure if they ship to Australia but Solly Baby swaddles are so amazing! They have the perfect stretch and so so soft. I had one that I brought to the hospital and literally bought another while I was still in the hospital! My baby is 5 months old now and I still use them.
Whenever I watch your videos Sarah, you can always lift my spirits. I don't know what I would do without you if you weren't a RU-vidr. I'm only young, so these videos aren't really relevant to me, however, I always watch them anyway because you can always put a smile on my face. Keep doing what you're doing, you're helping so many people out there and I love that you have that value. Xx
Im not pregnant or planning nearly, and I feel so welcome in all stages of your life, just hearing you talk its make feel so comfortable and calm, and always learn something new in every vlog….You’re really like that friend that is the best giving you all advices that you dont even know that you need!!! Best wishes to you and your family!! (from spain (seville) a huge love a support)
I'm looking forward to breastfeeding! At the moment I'm 33wk pregnant of my first baby it's so exciting! I would like to hear more about your breastfeeding journey with Fox and what would you do differently this time around with your second son. 😊🌱
Hey, look into the bassinet that can attach to your bed and you can have the side down for accessing baby easily and for settling bub ect. ABSOLUTE GAME CHANGER for me.
"Hooter Hiders" is a nice brand for a breastfeeding cover. It's basically an apron but it has a wire in the top so you are able to look down and still see your baby. Very lightweight.
Thank you for this! Looking forward to the essentials you will be using video. I'm 8 weeks pregnant today and have plenty of time to prepare but honestly, it's never too early to prepare lol
I hope baby does not spit up a lot. My girl spit up for the 8 months. Yes a towel was more practical than small burp cloths. I hope I can find a smallish but supportive pillow to hopefully breastfeed. Thank you for acknowledging that not everyone is able to breastfeed. I hope you continue to have a happy and healthy pregnancy!
Thanks for welcoming those of us who are not moms yet! Haha its true, I do very much enjoy this kind of content. One day, I pray, this knowledge will be of use to me. Also, this is how I found Sarahs Day. I was watching hormonal health videos and in my feed was the video of Sarah finding out she was pregnant for the first time and telling Kurt. I remember exactly where I was and all the feels it gave me! Ive been following ever since! xoxo
I work in the Nursery at a daycare and I switch the stereo from music to the fm radio but in between stations which produces a natural white noise (that is also volume controllable) for the babies when they are sleeping and does not use batteries, does not need a white noise video on YT playing or wifi or another gadget. It also helps with reducing my footprint by being sustainable. 🥰
Snuz pod I found the best the thing ever. It was hard get but was amazing and attached to the bed and have a side down just to reach over and get baby then zip side back up
LOVING this video. I’m 20 weeks pregnant and it’s been 5 years since my last soooo I’m lost again! Lol I’m so curious to learn your bubba’s name! We have a middle name picked but not a first.
Old school nappies are fantastic for burp/clean up cloths. They are also great to pop under their little bums while changing if you don’t have a mat. They can also be rolled up to stop the baby sliding down the bassinet and their legs hitting the bottom of the bassinet, especially if they have reflux and you need them on a tilt. Just place it under their legs, and up against their bottom.
me: *19 and not having children anytime soon* still watching and nodding along because I find this content interesting anyways😂😂 lolol a lot of the women that I watch on youtube are new mothers (since they're all 21-31) but it's so interesting to see people in a new phase of life ahead of me. we're all just humans learning/figuring things out which I think is what I like about content from new/ young mothers sharing the way they're navigating :-)
Hey Lovely, I just wanted to suggest to you that you might like the SnuzPod4. I'm nearly 30 weeks pregnant and spent a lot of time researching bassinets that ticked the boxes you literally just said in this video! It can tilt for reflux, it can adjust to your bed height and has one side that can open and close, making it easy to co-sleep safely with Bub in the bassinet. It can also be rocked if not being inclined for reflux, and it has an excellent ventilation system. My fiancé and I spent the other weekend building it, and it was super easy and it also looks really nice. We have a beachy californian style home and it fits in well aesthetically :) xx
Loving these videos we are having our first baby in April, so I’m looking forward to your video of your newborn must haves hoping it will be out before the Black Friday deals when we are planning on buying lots of baby essentials!
I used cloth nappies for all my kids who are now in their 40s l passed them on for burp cloths and they are now being used by my great grandkids. Quite They last forever.
so excited for the new baby boy! happy 22 weeks! also, i love the green plaid shirt, is it from white fox? looks gorgeous, thanks for this video! cant wait for the name reveal ahh!
Lol! It was the same for me during my second pregnancy..all prego symptoms were heightened and appeared a lot sooner. And my belly was a lot bigger earlier too! You look fabulous by the way. 🥰
You are seriously glowing, you look stunning as always, I love watching these type of videos I cannot wait to have kids, so from this I learnt a lot for whenever me and my husband get blessed with one. Once I do fall pregnant I will be rewatching and taking notes haha
Don't mind if it's a longer video where you go through every. single. product. - this was super helpful for me (not pregnant), but thinking about good and practical gifts for pregnant or mummy friends. Thanks Sarah! :)
You're looking great! I hope that you have been able to get a lot of support during your pregnancy after your "opening up about what's been going on" video :) and meet people in a similar situation, it can help so much meeting others on similar walks
We got muslin wraps from a small business called Halo and Horns (I think they’re bamboo cotton) and they are so so soft even after being thrown up on and washed a million times
I watch you and my kids are 19, 18,18, 13 and 11. Our bassinet for 13yr was on a stack of books 😂 and I used old fashioned cloth nappies as spew rags- she was my reflux Bub, 19yr fed every 2hrs and yes I fed her on the toilet. 18yr and 18yr. Well I breast fed 2. ‘Free the nip’ was always happening. 11yr was my last. I breast fed him the longest and I’d well and truly mastered the horizontal breast feed. He and I napped together a lot and it’s one of my most special memories. I wrapped him like a burrito and highly recommend GIANT muslins for that purpose. And twins born in 2003- all popper onesies 🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️ I wished for zips. Great vid. Appeals even to a 46 year old.
100% to the big w cloth nappies packets as burp cloths. We ended up getting 2 packets We still use them at 2.5 yo for times she’s sick and my husband uses them as golf sweat rags 😂😂😂😂 so much multi use
This video is so accurate! Couldn’t relate more to the sweater while breastfeeding 😂 Made me think though, I would LOVE for you to make a breastfeeding/postpartum fashion video! I am 6 months postpartum and breastfeeding and still struggling to find cute & affordable clothes that are practical and flattering!
For white noise, buy a diffuser that has white noise! Handy for when the baby is sick, has white noise and lullabies and also has different coloured lights. And it plugs into the wall 👍🏻
I got the same swing but in the pink and my girl hated it too! I just gave to my cousin who is pregnant, and the amount of time they use the jolly jumper is definitely not worth the space they take up. 😂 so many useless baby items, I think you nailed this video. 🙌
i'm not pregnant, not married, not even engaged! LOL but I know I do want to in the future and it will come inchallah in the near future! so I totally love watching this type of video ON YOUR CHANNEL! lool i just love all your content! xoxo
My kid is 13 and would have swallowed her own spew had I not tilted her bassinet. She even did once- lying on our bed - I had to call an ambulance. Reflux babies need different things.
@@MsCecilv sorry to hear that, it would have been very scary however over 13years there has been a lot of research into safe sleep and it’s not recommended to tilt a bassinet or add devices. Alone, Back, Crib/ bassinet is all a baby needs
I never want children but i love watching this, watch your every video ,no matter the change of content 😊 for 3 years. Its your life ,your days, its sarahs day,and i love being a part of it. God protect you and keep you safe, give you wisdom and strength . Love from Norway
Breastfeeding with a sling could be a great option for you - I couldn’t because I don’t have little “cups” but lots of my mum friends could use a mobi wrap or basic sling and basically bind bub to their chest and wander around while feeding 🥳
I have a 2 yr old and now am single and probably won’t have another baby unless I remarry but that’s years away… I’m not even dating.. but I still LOVE baby/pregnancy related videos
As someone who lives in Canada and had to nurse her son in the winter, I can say, the bulky sweaters are brutal! I never had the jolly jumper for our guy, but we had an exer-saucer. He could still bounce around in it I felt like it took up less space and was easier on his legs.
You need the breastfeeding pillow called My Breast Friend. It straps around your waist and clips in place. The Lactation Consultant I worked with recommended it over the Boppy pillow which is what yours looked like.
Hi beautiful family omg so much more stuff for baby's now my baby's in the 80 and 90 had to sleep in a close basket 🧺 the mummy to day are so lucky to have all the new stuff now ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ you mum will now back in to day we had a very little to pick from ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
