Newcastle upon Tyne (RP: /ˈnjuːkɑːsəl/ (listen) NEW-kah-səl, locally /njuːˈkæsəl/ (listen) new-KASS-əl),[7] or simply Newcastle, is a city and metropolitan borough in Tyne and Wear, England. The city is located on the River Tyne's northern bank and forms the largest part of the Tyneside built-up area. Newcastle is also the most populous city of North East England. Newcastle developed around a Roman settlement called Pons Aelius[8] and the settlement later took the name of a castle built in 1080 by William the Conqueror's eldest son, Robert Curthose.

Fantastic video of my home city (albeit I live in Southampton). St James’ metro station is surprisingly efficient but it helps that a) my season ticket is in the Gallowgate End and b) the station is really only useful if you want the Coast Line meaning probably 70% of Metro Users go to Monument - our metro culture not being a changing trains one). Oh it’s Leazes with a hard Z as per your second pronunciation.

Nice, cheers mate. I played rugby for Gosforth 1981-85. I hope never to suffer from fitba. But it's a beautiful city. I haven't been there in years but I used to sing in The Cathedral Choir. Beautiful city. I've been elsewhere

Exhibition park BTW: "The name Exhibition Park was first used during the Jubilee Exhibition of 1887 but the old name of Bull Park remained for some time. The only remaining item from the 1887 Exhibition is the grade II listed bandstand, which dates from 1875." en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Exhibition_Park,_Newcastle

BTW seen a lot fo comments saying that footballs a religion in liverpool etc...honestly it used to be, but liverpool were sold off a long long time ago and it most certainly doesnt have the same feel or anywhere near what it was...Newcastle are one of the last BIG clubs to be sold and still has some of that fervour to it...but all of these english Premier clubs and many in the championship...there isnt the same feel to them anymore..its very hollow and superficial....i honeslty pray Newcastle doesnt go that way..cos the likes of anflield and old trafford etc used to be meccas but the atmosphere is horrible now...same in london....footbal is in an awful way now and many real fans have drifted away with the new generation no longer having that affinity which leaves a massive gap these foreign owed clubs cannot bridge...embrace the rivalry, because once the money kicks in having that team that really gets your back up just becomes another football club, you will lose everyting you love about the game and your team..football is about the fans..newcastle has a brilliant affinity with its football club...but the signs are now creeping in..

Newcastle are already that way. They had to give away 10k season cards under Mike Ashley now there’s massive queues for every home game and they have to raffle off tickets. People from the North East know Newcastle has loads of plastics from closer to Sunderland, Middlesbrough and York.

I agree, I meet 7 Liverpool lads at Euston Station in the smoke it was Jan 2022 and they were great, we talked about n/cle and Liverpool, real ardent supporters, it was sunny and hot, they were drinking beers and when they left they give me the remaining beer which was unopened and laughed, then they opened it saying its ne gud ta yer like that, off they went to beat Chelsea, I looked for the result when I got home, and I was happy they had, my next favorite club after black and whites. Just looked and we went down tonight to PSG 0"1.SH1TE.

@@RyyyzzorAgree, there is a big plastic fan base now! Around 10,000-12,000, Glory hunter’s jumped on board the train as soon as the takeover was completed. Will never be the same again. Ashley unfortunately destroyed the club & disillusioned supporters.

25:20 the edit threw me. Approaching Station Road/church avenue. Then Suddenly back at Jesmond dene road. Living here I've never thought to walk the way you have. Metro car perhaps cycle but I've never done the walk as a whole. I'm the most part you spent a large portion of your time skirting then crossing on return our town moor. Something to have a go with I guess. Hope you enjoyed your time here.

@@paulmcdonough1093 right I’ve been to Liverpool many many times it’s a great city and I think I’m going to pop it on my list of places to make a video about. I like Liverpool. It’s true though I’ve not been to a top flight football match in the city since before the premier league began. My team doesn’t it rarely visits such hallowed places. I stand by what I believe though in that towns or cities with just one team makes for a much better experience when most people from that town or city all support the local club. Thanks for reminding me I need to visit Liverpool , I may even try and take in a game if all the tourists don’t snap up the tickets first 🤘
