Sweet Tart produced every other year for us for a while. It holds way more than most of our other trees on years it flowered. Your trees are looking great!
I have 5 Peach Cobbler trees. I like the flavor but they are difficult to pick because they stay green. Many times I find a totally soft fruit on the tree which would waste since it cannot be shipped. The fruit has very little sign of ripeness in coloring. In commercial picking you almost would have to touch every fruit on the tree to know. That could be a nightmare for losses since pickers are not always proficient at getting the quality fruit.
could you make a video discussing your overview of how you designed your property to aid with cold protection? From designing the Windbreaks, density of foliage, layers of canopy and sacrificial plants like the sunflower and grasses. *I ask because we lost our Peach Cobbler and alllll the sunflower to the cold. I was amazed how quickly the mexican sunflower wilted and turned black, it was a rough second cold front now that my main protection was gone.
I'm surprised Maha Chanook didn't make your list. One of the prettiest mangoes on the planet, very long season, reliable fruiting, great flavor that seems to get better over ripe. Doesn't produce super heavy, but I wouldn't say it's light by any means.
Bolt didn’t make the list?! Do you plan to topwork any of the less ideal varieties with these winners to have duplicates? Or you’d rather have the whole collection for nursery purposes?
I'm still evaluating the bolt for it's production. It takes a good while to get a feel for a new variety. I'll top work some for sure. Mostly the ones I don't want to graft.
