I ordered mine today. I have the mini OG and it has been a workhorse. I run the SDI into a BM video assist for my monitor since I have several. The benefit is you can record using it. But I also ordered a small usb c hub with ethernet and 10GB usb A and C ports. I use Crucial SSD's which are much smaller and faster than a T7 or whatever. I will have two methods of recording for critical work. Still, the G2 opens up new possibilities. I will use the Hollyland Lark M2 for audio input - again because of size and great sound. I hate how big and bulky a shotgun mic is on these cameras. Keep experimenting and we discover new things we can do.
Currently im using RavenEye video transmitter and i can view the screem of my G2 on my phone as well as control my gimbal ronin rs4 using my phone. Magic arm would give a more versatile way to mount your camera. One question can u control your lens both zoom and focus using ATEM? Great lens you got there, is it 12-35mm Panasonic Lumix Vario?
Ooo I will have to check out RavenEye. Thanks! As for my lenses, I have a few. The one in this film I believe was the Panasonic Leica 15mm/f1.7. Links in the description.
Hello Everyone, Great review man !. I have 2 of the 1080p version of the micro rigged up beautifully and I love the image quality of black magic cameras, its unique like Arri has its own uniqueness to it. Thanks
I'm still very new and uneducated on cameras, but I was curious if this might work for recording / live streaming directly through a computer (perhaps using Open Broadcaster Software)?
Indeed it will, with the full size HDMI jack, you can plug it into any switcher (I have the BMD ATEM Mini Pro - 1080p max) and it will be the 2nd camera in my OBS streams or recording sessions. I hope to do a followup to this video soon to show how all that works as well.
@@peterson53047 That is correct. I am uncertain if there's a higher grade ATEM product, I just have the $295 model that maxes out at 1080p. Updated my comment above to include that. Thank you for pointing that out.
@@VisionsMusicGroupatem 4k models start at $4595.00. so stream in HD and record onto usb. If you add a usb hub and/with an ethernet port/adapter you can get your footage off the SSD over the network. Never unplug the SSD again.
@@useditem_tk I am using the key I got with the BMPCC4K in 2021, and have not upgraded DVR to 19 (still on 18.6). I'm going to presume my Studio key will still work with 19 when it's released.
According to Blackmagic Design specs: "The focus and zoom demands have USB-C connections and make photographic lenses feel like large broadcast lenses! Each zoom and focus demand has 2 USB-C ports, so you can daisy chain them then connect to the cameras USB connection."
