Yeah that clip of Sullyoon and Lee Know is clearly just two co-workers from the same company are having a light-hearted conversation during an event. The age gap makes it really unlikely. It's a shame that they can't even have a conversation and a laugh together without speculation. While i'm not here to confirm anything, but many Vietnamese people and the government believe that a gathered force of South Vietnam is waiting for the day to revenge and take over the country. So we Vietnamese are always on high alert with things related to political issues. Tho I still see many Vietnamese fans openly listen and support Newjeans. Me too, tbh, nothing extreme has happened. Seems like there's only a super extreme anti-fans that making a big fuss out of it. Otherwise, when i go to work, i always turn up Newjeans music and people even sing along😅

You captured the situation pretty good. South Vietnam and Taiwan both exist/ed only through interventions of US to implement a puppet states to stop the influence of communism in Asia. All of them (including Korea) were at their beginning dictatorships that they supported. Important note here: Neither Taiwan, South Korea or South Vietnam are own countries. They all claim to be the legit government over all of the country and vise versa from the other sides. These are all conflicts that were created by the devidence of US intervention to support it's hegemonic ambitions. All these countries have a high level of tendency towards communism, a reason why it was basically instantly banned in South Korea after US landed there. After that, even until today, even slight positiv connotations towards it can end you up in prison under the National Security Law introduced by Syngnam Rhee. Was the same in Taiwan under the Kuomintang.
