NEWPORT SOUTH WALES 

When Newport was an amazing vibrant place now it’s just degraded and full of immigrants and homeless people and empty shops well done the government amazing job wish I could go back to the 80s early nineties great times

Today I watched a video on the dreadful state of Newport today (socially and structurally). Your video really brings it home to me how much the city has been allowed to decline. Liveried buses? Wonderful. Thank you.

Lots of memories there, a few pubs I remember well!

Lovely trip down memory lane. Especially enjoyed seeing the inside of old Kingsway, the Octopus Bridge and the prefabs. A few old place names there which have long disappeared (and not for the better). Thanks for sharing.

Some of the changes in Newport have been change for changes' sake. Was boss in the 90s.

And the labour council turned it into wasteland.

The council even tried to close the train station but the people from Newport who use trains said that we need a station because a lot of people need the train station for holidays and for work

It is getting worse in Newport I don't like coming home from holiday

The council don't want to spend the money on the shopping centre they are happy to waste the money

I actually feel sad watching this, i remember Newport as a kid and it was so much nicer. Why have the people in charge let it get so bad. 😢 it doesn't feel like the place i grew up in anymore..i don't recognise the faces or some of the culture 😔

So cool mate I used to live near the Odeon at Clarence Place And later off Caerleon Road opposite the Vic 😁

Off all the pictures online I NEVER see pictures of the InShops in the 90’s. It’s like it never existed. Such a shame.

Blast from the past how much Newport has changed over the years

Pictures (0:48) of the RGH taken from no.31 cardiff road, could be 33 but I lived at 35 for 28 years from about 88 😊.
