Not to mention that, from now until the project makes him lose his mind, Robie will make sure that Old World mod is also competing with IE for people’s attention, plus Lord knows who else might step up and pull custom maps out THEIR ass in the game’s remaining active cycle; RoC just doesn’t have adequate space to compete in that “main game” sphere given its limitations (although it still has its place as a kiddie pool for newer players to get their feet wet, methinks)
Meanwhile, Vampires and Norscans are molding in the corner, and the Southern Realms that should have been in game one are nowhere to be found in vanilla.
I really hope you map painters are really as big as you claim. Because although I have all dlc they released, I am not touching map painting generator for 25 bucks with zero narrative.
Sean has done a lot of good work, the 3 DLC he metioned he led the team on are all GREAT. Hope they continue the trend with that and the addition of the collaboration of the CA Sofia team.
@@finito6818 Totally. It would also be lovely for each of the big LM factions to have a distinct mechanic, even if it's reskinned from something else, just so they can have parity with Oxyotl having their own thing. But that might be more of a thing for a DLC, whuch sadly might be a while.
I really hope they add a chaos endgame crisis sometime soon. Ngl it's kinda a shocking absence given how chaos oriented warhammer 3 is not to have an end game option of a chaos invasion. Later down the line I'd love it if they made a sort of endtimes like scenario in which non chaos factions go head to head with the chaos gods in order to defeat them once and for all or seal them away. Defeating a chaos god would instantly cause their unit, factions, etc to wither away. Players get rewards for defeating a chaos god but the twist is the other chaos gods also become more powerful meaning a scaling challenge overtime which I think could work great
Well it has been mentioned on occasion that the End Times will be the final piece of DLC they do for the game whenever that may be, which would make sense, so might be a while off but I fully expect will happen
DLC looks good and the acknowledgment of Slaanesh, Norsca and Vamp Counts are coming.. and yeah they should just polish Realms and put everything into Immortal Empires..
Considering how little of Khorne that was shown off, it is very likely they started doing Slaanesh and then pivoted away from it and handed Sofia the khorne project.
Legend broke down his reasoning why he thought the leaks were at least mostly accurate and that this represents a pivot from CA. I think it could actually have been a psyop when they were uncertain what to release (or order) and they leaked something to get fan feedback. Notice they never denied it. Again, I think the wording or specifics could have been off but I don't think you bring in Greenskins, a faction I thought was done, unless you are trying to add a low effort part of the pack.
@@theflyingkaramazovbrothers6personally, I feel like Khorne and the Ogres were the simpler picks. Orcs, since they’re pretty complete, are harder to add too since they’re so complete.
@@theflyingkaramazovbrothers6more like because they don't need to correct BS leaks. Pivoting from SL to KH is still vastly different from Orges vs Monkey King to Lords of Shang Yang.
@@theflyingkaramazovbrothers6 I disagree I think only one of Legends leak DLCS was real was the Monkey king one, because he wanted to add credibility since its the most likely and was already theorised and mentioned by actual trusted leakers and not unknown sources with 0 creditability like the rest of Legends leaks the rest 100% lies The only pivot was from the Slaneesh to Khorne DLC that happened long before Legend got his info Too many of Legends fans are making some of the most asinine excuses to NOT admit that Legend got it wrong
@mkgaming5823 Legend's sources from past leaks have been 100% on point. It's why he published the leaks, but the content was so dumb that he warned to take it with a grain of salt and he he hoped the info was wrong.
The Hobgoblin Khanate should be something they consider. The series has a hole in not representing a highly mobile calvary faction. The Hobgoblin Khanate as the Warhammer not-Mongols would fill that gap.
So we've got mentions of Dogs of War, Vampire Counts/Coast, Lizardmen, and Halflings. They have been acknowledged, now we just have to see if they're mere mentions, or if they'll show up right-propa
I'm glad Vampire Counts got a mention. Khorne and Nurgle basically entirely ate their lunch. And then beat them up and took their lunch money for the whole week.
“Khorne and Nurgle basically ate their lunch.” as they should. Those are game 3 races that still only had 1 LL up until this year, which is an embarrassment. Vampires Counts have 5
@@willfeen that doesn’t really matter. What matters is how many campaigns each race has that is actually fun to play. Currently, from what I hear (I’m not a fan of either one personally), Khorne has 1 and Vampire Counts have 0. Khorne also has Valkia, so you could say 1.5. Doing Nurgle first made sense, because they were an absolute mess and a game 3 race, but Vampires arguably need the dlc more than Khorne does. I understand why they want to do a monogod dlc every update though. Ideal probably would’ve been Slaanesh/Ogres/Vampires, but if they did pivot recently, it makes sense they’d need to do Greenskins to get the dlc out sooner.
I get the feelings they pushed back slannesh as their a tricky one unit/character wise and hopefully come up with units to really compliment what their missing
I’m fine with IE only as long as they keep integrating the narrative cutscenes to hype you up at the beginning. Honestly if we’re going full IE, I hope every lord gets like a 10 second opening and short victory cutscene, it’s really the only reason I put over 1200 hours in the Realms of Chaos and played vortex campaigns exclusively in TWW2.
Agreed! The story adds to the experience of the campaign. Hopefully we aren’t the minority with adding cutscenes to IE. A simple example would be e the Archaon cutescence added back in for the chaos invasion.
CA giving me hope that my desire for them to revisit Tzeentch, Kislev, and Cathay from SoC and give them the reworks they needed isn't just huffing massive amounts of Copium
@@3lgat097At least give us Egrimm, he's way too dope to be looked over. And the Monkey King, and give him tiger-, snake- and other Ind&Khuresh beastmen, cause, let's face it, it's highly unlikely that we'll ever see a separate race pack for them.
@@3lgat097 SoC rework? What rework? Katarin, Kostaltyn, Boris Ursus, Miao YIng, Zhao Ming, and Kairos Fateweaver got no such thing. They got new units added from the DLCs but their gameplay and campaigns didn't change whatsoever after the new factions were added. Katarin and Kostaltyn are still in the jank supporter race, Boris is still stuck in the weird place of being in the chaos wastes that he hates, Miao and Zhao are irrelevant with Yuan Bo being far and away the best Cathayan Lord, and Kairos's tech tree feels like it deserves an overhaul. Meanwhile they've upped their game in ToD with things like tweaking Karl's start, sending Balthasar to Cathay with brand new campaign mechanics, doing the full rework to the grudge system for all dwarf factions, and overhauling the nurgle research tree and plague system. The Comparison between ToD and SoC is night and day on quality of much needed tweaks and reworks. The biggest change any of the 3 received was in Thrones of Decay when they made Norsca into Frozen and Mountains so it's much nicer for Kislev to take instead of being Uninhabitable for the non-Boris factions.
@@_Infidel_Castro_ Egrimm would be really cool to get, even as a Legendary Hero. He'd end up around the Silvered Tower of Sorcerers iirc (I think he built that in lore, yeah?) so being that close to Malus Darkblade and Sigvald might be a minor inconvenience for a Tzeentch faction. Hopefully the Monkey King doesn't end up like Boris Todbringer and Thanquol and be false promises for the future.
@@Th3_RavenIf the End Times DLC is a real thing, then Thanquol is obliged to appear in it, along with Nagash, Valten, Glottkin bros and others. And Toddy - yeah, he's cool and all, but as a separate faction, what new mechanics can he bring? Maybe let him stay as he is, but give him his unique trait, skill line, items and maybe exclusive units like Teutogen guard and knights of Ulric.
I can't help but feel like they've only just barely started on this DLC, from some of the phrasing in the video, and the lack of anything but some concept art, this entire DLC feels like a reaction to Thrones of Decay's success and the lash-back from the community regarding the leaks. Which is an amazing thing - this is why those details were leaked - it's why everyone was preemptively upset. Let's hope CA handle the rest of Warhammer III with dignity.
5:05 Ah, someone who was high up holding on to that as their baby is gone. Or at least has seen the light that holding on to things that are low demand is a bad idea. Guess what was in that post from an ex-dev about some of the problem designers being gone is true. Genuinely, I'm still pretty worried about CA's internal condition, but maybe those layoffs actually helped a considerable amount. One can hope and hope it is not too late.
I feel bad that somebody worked so hard on something that few people want to play, but the fact of the matter is that the big appeal has always been letting the whole warhammer world play itself out. Right from Warhammer 1 it was always headed for this and they should have seen that by half-way through WHII.
Not to jab at you TGBG but Slaanesh is without a doubt the least popular mono-god faction so it makes sense that it's the 4th one to get DLC. I like Slaanesh as well, I'm not casting stones, just being pragmatic about it. I'm just pumped they mentioned Vampire Counts, Lizardmen and Norsca. They all need some TLC to polish them up and bring them up-to-date. I'm just super happy to hear all the things they're saying here. The fact they acknowledge what the community wants for race DLCs and that they want to add in more rework and some smaller additions between big (X.0) patches.
I'm so glad to hear that the DLC schedule isn't going to be Cathay, Dogs of war, then Cathay again like the leaks said. The fact that they even brought up Vampire Counts and Norsca makes me excited for the future. Give me a Dark Elf and Lizardmen rework on top of that and I'd be able to play IE for a very very long time.
I too also find it a bit strange that they went and said, "Slaanesh fans, we'll get to you." As a fellow follower of the Dark Prince but then I had this funny idea. Given that they have said that this Khorne DLC is IE exclusive, I wonder if the reason they put this ahead in their roadmap instead of the speculated Slaanesh one from the old roadmap is because the Slaanesh one was initially developed to have both IE and RoC campaigns included. After all both Shadows and Thrones had both as well and so they decided to do this new Khorne DLC to one, see how well an IE-only DLC would sell in comparison to previous ones and two, if Khonre does sell well, they have the time to remove the RoC portion from the Slaanesh DLC making it also IE exclusive. Still waiting on that eventual Vampire Count content though xD
My theory is that Slaanesh DLC was to use same Cult mechanic Changeling uses, but they saw backlash it generated and decided to rework it completely. They even said they are touching up cults in this interview.
Everyone is excited about the ToD structure moving forward, but I’m not optimistic. I was really hoping for more frequent smaller scope dlc. Hopefully they will move forward with those small additions during smaller patches in a positive way. Also hoping they bring some of the fun mechanics from chaos dwarfs and champions of chaos to the IE map.
Next dlc should be Slanesh, Norsca and Vimpire coast. As the most work needed factions and then process of elimination on factions that need work. We don't need more skaven or greenskins etc other then tweeks.
Now that CA are listening attentively to the community. I really hope that rescaling some regions are in the plans even if it's far into the future. Naggaroth, Lustria and Southlands need a rescale adjustment as it can feel really cramped especially now that more LLs will be coming. Hopefully the Araby Region is also rescaled to look much larger.
"We've finally understood that you guys like playing Immortal Empires" - NO SHIT EINSTEIN, THIS IS MASSIVE NEWS. An admission of catastrophic incompetence, right there. Everything else: cool. Let's see it.
I hope all the small subfactions will be added in as well somehow, one way of the other, without needing tonbe flashed out too much. Think of Halflings, Araby, Hobgoblin Khanate, Ind, Kharesh, Nippon etc. That would be awesome
No mention of the map expanding they spoke of earlier or that monkey king was definetly going to come out this year as they mentioned earlier Feels like theres 1 dlc short this year, not sure what was cut for summer but i doubt we're going to get the remainder of stuff missing like Ind or Khuresh if its taking so long to make content
At this point I’m begging for Neferata! We got a npc faction at the end of Warhammer total war 2 hinting at her as well as loads of mentions from other characters (Khalida, dwarves book of grudges, Vampire Counts tech tree) so like…bring her and Nagash out! It’s overdue at this point.
I was kinda underwhelmed by the interview. For a video titled “the future of Warhammer 3”, it really only concretely covered the next DLC with only small “we’d love to do this, if we can”s and vague promises. Doesn’t really feel like they’ve improved in their communication to us, only that they have switched the format.
I mean half of what CA ever says is going to change, so them flooding us with infos wouldn't mean much I think, let's just take solid infos and a few hints, it's better than nothing!
Once they touch up legacy factions I would love just a basic ind, khuresh, nippon dpc where they exist, but act more as neutral third party factions you can gain through conquering their lands. This makes ppl happy, but also if we want full factions modders can go crazy
Honestly i really love the 3 way split method of new DLC releases, i usually only like one Legendary Lord out of each DLC, its good to know i can finally pick the one I want without wasting money on all the rest that would have never getting played anyway, I picked Elspeth last round and gonna pick Skulltaker in few months.
Would've really preferred Gorfang over Gorbad. Maybe they'll shove Gorbad to Cathay and, massive copium, will give us Gorfang alongside Kazador, Red Duke and Toddy as updated FLC characters whenever we get Toddy.
And also second of all, I think they're going to put them in crush because honestly gelt is very isolated at the bottom of the continent without much room to expand so opening up at the very least could certainly help his campaign out if you stay in Cathy
now I want the monkey King and a mechanic to boost specific traits of specific Dawi units with Oathgold (like a secondary upkeep). Want my Blasting Charges Miners to support into lategame. The bestest unit. Maybe more paths in the tech tree, where one excludes the other, so you can shape the path of yor faction. In my opinion although refreshing, Thrones could not finish the Dawi and the Coast needs some more flavour maybe one day I will play a different campaign than Ungrim, Belegar or Malakai
No mention of expanding the east makes me sad. I hope one day they say something about Ind and Khuresh. At least expanding the map and adding some unique units from that territory. Also, I hope the hint of Dogs of War is Dogs of War and not Tilea DLC like it was in that 'leak'
Blood vultures surprised me. Gorbad Ironclaw was the orc I've been wanting all along, so be nice to my boy. It's not every day we have an orc that does his own thinky-thinky without Nagash. I'm also really excited for the ogres and seeing what comes.
The fact we’re waiting until the end of the year and they didn’t even show concept art for ironclaw says to me some of the leaks could’ve been partially true.
I am on board with the current format, happy with the change in direction, if they keep to this I am comfortable with the asking price and continued investment in this game and beyond, 👀 is the closest to tities I could find for you Nathan, much love to all 💙💜💛
It looks like WH3 average player count for June is going to finish around 27,000, if this occurs this will be the highest ever age player count in a month where new content was realeased in the franchise history. Uptake for CA, produce good and varied content and you will sell that content, the demand is there. I can remember an old post from Richard where he said there is no point aiming for 90% plus when you can go for 80% and sell the same amount, this is patently incorrect as can be seen from SoC and ToD
Soooo... could be there a DLC for underway? ^^' Dwarfs vs Skavens vs Goblins - a mini campaign around Karak Eight Peak introducing rebuilding/destroying/developing/stealing/invading the underway which grants special building slots etc? Night goblins could have some sort of undercities/caves as special thing, and for Dwarf well their lost "empire" is more underground rather than on the ground ^^'. In that way all three races and their old lords could be bringed closer to the warhammer 3 quality and some other mechanics/units could be added. The Dwarfs still lacks the proper item/rune building which was the most unique in the tabletop. And for the dwarfen roster - crankgunner, deathrollers, rune guardians (those sunk in to the rock, but well maybe deus ex machina?). And more Squids :D Another thing - DLC that give access to some mechanics to all qualifying races for them? Like inrace diplomacy with reworked confederacy (like confederated allies are still semi independent, but also grants us their own mechanic, access to their build/ recruting order, moving their army if we pleased them enough), that is disconnected with diplomacy with others, caravans, rites, etc.
I keep hoping Scyla will come as a cool Norscan Lord. IndyPride may be right, and he’ll just be a Khornate Hero. ALTHOUGH… it would be hilarious if he was a Lord in one faction, and a Hero for another. Showing how low Norsca is on the pecking order.
Wondering if their plan when it comes to the mono gods is that they are alternating between a demon/mortal for the paid part lord wise Demon mortal demon currently Flc aekold(mortal) epidemius(demon) more than likely arbaal(mortal again) Slaanesh might follow that trend
Okay could be spamming from now on but I think they a: hinted dogs of War dlc. (Or at least say they know we want it but its in the hand of the gods.) And b I think the New oder faction could be a horde faction with no direkt penalty for crossing borders. With maybe kinda quest like system with rewards for them don't know kinder got that feeling.
I hate to break it to ya but Slaanesh is the least popular Chaos God as far as the fandom goes which is likely why they’ve rearranged the order of the DLC, which they admitted they’d do just a few minutes before you complained about it. I’ve seen people complaining about Gorbad too but I might actually do a Greenskin campaign now after never getting far despite liking Grimgor.
Love that they invent new stuff like the Blood Voltures, hipe they also invent a new firebelly legendary lord and a new lore of firemouth at some point 😂
@@TheGreatBookofGrudges ah ok didnt know that, im not much i to the lore. I thought its something like with the Vampire Coast where it looked like they invented some new stuff. Thx for explaining. I still hope thwy invent some new stuff, i want Ind, Kuresh and Nippon after all 😅😂 Also there is allways room for new stuff, if they give me quality content till 2030 ill play and pay till 2030 😁
On the whole, a lot of positive, but end of the year for the next DLC is a long way off. Most thought end of August or September. Here’s hoping they drop a substantive rework around that time to keep the player base content.
The elector counts of the empire need more attention. They should all have a unique skins rather than using generic empire general skins. They should get some unique abilities as well. Unless im mistaken, alberich haupt-anderssen should be in his early 20s. Yet his character model is an older man that looks to be in his mid 50s
