Man so many of these I reconize I will never forget where I was the day Michael Jackson died I was 10 years old and getting my hair cut when the news broke I was stunned could not believe what I was hearing For Robin Williams I remember my mother telling me he was dead I said omg that's terrible did he have a heart attack or a stroke? When she said he took his own life I didn't believe her cause like Robin Williams taking his own life that's just impossible but a quick Google and the worst was confirmed now Cameron Boyce I know I only saw him in Hey Jesse but his death really hit hard cause he was younger then me and he's dead now really made me think about mortality ah dude and Kobe one day just watching RU-vid my sister runs in telling me Kobe died in a helicopter crash man terrible days

I'll be honest, the one that got me the most when it happened was Robin Williams. It just wrecked me. I grew up with him. I must have watched Jumanji 100 times. That was my favorite movie growing up, and it still is to this day. I was only a kid when he passed. When I found out that he killed himself, I always thought: "How can someone so funny and joyful on the outside be so sad and depressed on the inside?" (I was 8, I didn't understand feelings too well.) And as I grew a bit older, I slowly realized that the funniest people are usually the saddest on the inside. My theory as to why is that they are giving all of the happiness to others, through the act of comedy. Making others feel better, but themselves feel worse. It's terrible. Rest in peace, Robin. You were a legend. I hope you're making as many people laugh up there as you did down here.

@Kimberly Keiper sorry I didn’t specify, I wasn’t at an outback steakhouse, I was buying some groceries and I got a notification. Most of my family and I are huge Lakers fans so this was a very devastating loss for us. Some of my family members even named their dogs after famous Lakers athletes, and one of them was given the name Kobe and another Magic but you get the point. Also that’s a terrible way to learn when it’s a family member‘s birthday and they’re out trying to celebrate. 😔

I remember learning that Stan Lee died. I have always loved Marvel and while it didn’t come as a shock it was still sad. I also remember hearing that Kobe died while at my high school’s pool. The next day (a Monday) consisted of a health class dedicated to the event, and no one could stop talking about it

Where was I when it happened: Amy Winehouse - Getting ready for my cousin’s birthday party in the pool and my cousin, who was turning 15, ran up to my room to tell me the news. Robin Williams - I was at home with my family watching the news. A few weeks later, Aladdin was showing on Disney Channel in remembrance of him. Prince - I came home from work and heard about the news on Tumblr. MTV was showing his music videos and Purple Rain. Avicii - I was at work on my lunch break when I found out he died. Levels and Wake Me Up played in my head. Kobe Bryant - I was at the mall eating lunch and I found out on Instagram that he and his daughter Gianna died in a helicopter crash. Whitney Houston - I came home from the public library on a Saturday afternoon and my older sister called me down just to see the news on TV. MTV Hits were playing her music videos nonstop. Michael Jackson - I came home early by a yellow school bus because I had summer school. I remember eating lunch and taking a shower after swimming for P.E. class. CNN broke the news and I was glued to the TV on the same day Farrah Fawcett died of cancer. When the live memorial service came on a couple of weeks later, I missed it because I was at school but when I came home I had to watch it on MySpace. I put the Invincible album and his Number Ones on my iPod nano to listen to on long car rides and back. Chester Bennington - I found out on social media that he died at the same time OJ Simpson was set free from prison. I started to listen to Linkin Park on my phone to remember him. Numb is one of my favorites including the remix with Jay Z.

Now approximately 6 years ago, music legend Prince died and I want to share my story with you. I was 12 and not into any of the old music. My mom drove us (My little brother and me) to school and we heard it on the radio My mom was shocked. She couldn't believe what happend. She was sad all day long. Now 3 years ago I started experimenting and diving into old and classic rock. That's when I stubled across Prince's music and realised what that morning is the car on my way to school happen. May he rest in peace💜 For anyone who had read my whole story, thank u. Have a nice life

I know he was still alive when this video was uploaded but Alex Trebek hit me hard. I suck eggs at trivia but Jeopardy won’t be the same again. I remember what I was doing when I found out he died. I was playing Monopoly with my step grandfather, and my grandmother says “Guess who just died.” I thought it was Jimmy Carter (He is actually still alive), because he was 96 when Trebek passed. Seconds later she says Trebek died. It took me a bit to collect myself, and my temper was low until after Trebek died. RIP.

Disrespectful media has the no respect for Michael Jackson even when he died, they brought up the allegations and did not even mention he was found NOT GUILTY on all counts which was a completed vindication. For years after his death because of this kind of reporting I believed MJ was a criminal until I read about the fact that he was found NOT GUILTY and I was surprised because I always thought he was guilty because of how media always painted him that. My heart broke when I saw he had donated millions for children's charity and his message on children in general. American media is one of the worst. Disrespectful at it's core.
