Yeah! THE COUCH is back. Hope you like the coming new couch. Alex, I've been watching you practically for 41/2 or 5 years and have enjoyed being a subscriber. Thank You for your work. :)
Hi Alex, I really appreciate your materials ! Regarding Monolith, I’m not sure how it works in different countries but as a backer from Poland I’m not sure if I ever back their product again. 1) Their support is a disaster - ignoring emails for months. 2) Ragnarök was earlier in the stores and it still wasn’t delivered to backers 3) Moreover, the prices in stores were better than what we paid few years ago i.e. all big expansion, were at least 30% cheaper in stores, and base pledge was almost the same price. I wonder why should I back them, giving my money for years when I can sit and wait and buy it in the store.
Couch set would be a good place for the live Q&A I think and also news of the week like you just did. Now you need to bring back the small gaming table! ;)
I'm definitely excited for Everdell Duo as I loved the world/artwork and building out my town, but didn't care for the competitive aspect of the base game so never bought it for myself. Duo will let me play co-op (or solo which I do a lot!) and with the campaign I'll be sure to want to come back for all the various challenges. It's also a far nicer price point for what the game would add for my collection. I'm not sure about backing though as my FLGS (where I have free shipping and can also gain points for discounts) already has a preorder listed for €34,99 and with a $35 MSRP + VAT and shipping that crowdfunding campaign will need to bring a LOT extra to make it interesting. The majority of my crowdfunded games I either pre-order/pledge through a retailer or buy secondhand after fulfillment because it's just hard to find a campaign worth backing directly from the EU. It also means those pre-campaign pledges are rarely interesting to me and I don't see it much anymore.
Can't wait to see the new couch! The games on the back of the cushions look like they might fall over and crush you, and your regular set does such a good job of showcasing large box games. Maybe a shelf of your favorite small box games behind the couch would give it a cool, unique vibe?
You should put artwork behind your new couch and shoot it more straight on rather than the side. Rotate the artwork. Now you have a use for the unsettled artwork they sent you and had no way to use it.
No one should be surprised with more Everdell as we know they are going to be diving into the Edge of the World(Map) more. I think the biggest surprise with this is that is a stand alone new game not in that series. I’m excited for it. And My Lil’ Everdell is still listed as such on BGA. As for Prime Days I was good: I only got Disney Animated, Donut Shop, and MLEM. But I also did get my most anticipated end of 2024 game in from KS yesterday. Forges of Ravenshire. My unboxing video will be posted later today.
Monolith has abandoned their previous backers of Orc Quest. They promised to put out a much needed FAQ to make the game and expansions playable. However it seems like that is never happening. Many backers told them that they would not be backing any of their future games.
Internet: Everdell is milking something their fans want more of. Other part of Internet: Laughs in Persona 5. Part of Internet where fans feel ghosted by their thing going away: Why are any of you even complaining?
Give me Everdell duo! I haven’t grabbed farshore yet cause of price and I have everything Everdell otherwise, but I just love it so much I’ll try to get it all. I did gift my lil Everdell to a family member though 😅
Think of your favorite game of all time..Munchkin probably sells let's say 20x more and I'm lowballing. Introduction games sell better than more hobbyist games. Wingspan is the exception and maybe Azul
Its a great low stakes game to start or end the night. Yes its highly random, but that can lead to some really fun moments if you aren't a try hard who only cares about agency and winning.
