This is tape #3, labeled "Paul Montgomery Team Talks To Us", in a series of three recordings made during "Newtek U," an early 1990's sales training event for Newtek's Video Toaster accessory for the Commodore Amiga 2000 computer system.
The Video Toaster was a groundbreaking set of hardware for video production. Consisting of a single video expansion card with accompanying software, the Video Toaster allowed the Commodore Amiga to inject, process, switch, and control analog composite video sources in real time. It could also generate special effects and graphics independently either with the Newtek software or with 3rd party software such as Lightwave 3D. This brought professional grade video production effects and features to a much more accessible price-point, revolutionizing the "pro-sumer" video market.
These sales training recordings, recovered from the original S-VHS master tapes, cover the Video Toaster during a time when it's market was rapidly growing in the early 1990's. You'll get to hear from a number of marketing & engineering representatives from Newtek who explain the Video Toaster and it's intended market, Newtek's goals as a company, and the ways to be the most profitable Video Toaster sales group. Throughout this video, you'll experience never-before-seen Newtek information, graphics, and demos. You'll hear the entire early history of NewTek and the Video Toaster by the Head of Software Development, Steve Kell, and lead UI designer, Daniel Kaye. You'll even see a rare appearance by the late VP of Newtek, Paul Montgomery!
Enjoy this rare footage!

Nice. We used some cheap A3000/A4000-based VTs in the early 90s to do motion graphics and previz.

I had an Amiga 2000 and it was a mess. It wasn't fully compatible with Amiga 1000 software. Software/hardware like the Video Toaster was outside of the price range of the regular consumer. I purchased it with the hope of doing NLE but left quite disappointed. Now, my desktop computer can edit 8K video without breaking a sweat. Amazing.

If there only was anything around worth looking at in 8k. :)
