Missed two points. 1. The onboard charger (under the hood) for the 3KW and 7KW variant is different. That’s what drives price difference. It’s not about the external wall box connector. 2. Top speed increased to 140kmh which will be useful on highways.
There is no clarity regarding the same hence we expressed our doubts. Many have indicated that the on board charger is the same. 50k is the right price for a home 7.2kw charger. Adding a bigger on board charger and the wall box at this price would be difficult.
Kudos to Tata for bringing a good EV at affordable prices to common man when global companies like Toyota, Honda, VW, Renault, Suzuki etc haven't brought any EV cars to India..
Really want this channel to touch the top..like atleast 500k subscribers. Great Review JayD ji & Vivek ji ഏന്തോ ഇഷ്ടമാണ് നിങ്ങളുടെ സംസാരം കേട്ട് ഇങ്ങനെ ഇരിക്കാൻ🥰🥰🥰
Somebody should make a navigation app for EVs that also accounts for elevation changes while calculating range. One of the biggest problem I see with roadtripping in EVs is the range drop from climbing inclines. Drivers are reporting as much as 1% (for the nexon ev) drop per km in hilly roads. That is really difficult to account for while planning a trip to hillstations. Tesla already has this feature implemented & it's working well. Also elevation data is available in google earth, we can use this for now as a workaround.
Powerdrift is nothing but some cool shots. Their reviews are not that great but their cinematics are good. I would watch BBC instead of some cool shots on a car review.
Excellent review! Nice to hear from people who have driven MG ZS EV extensively. You can silence "* Mode activated" voice through the Voice alerts settings in the touchscreen.
Yes but still there will be a beep every time you switch modes and it will interfere with the media playing by reducing the volume significantly for a good 3-4 seconds. We have a Nexon in the family as well and this bugs me greatly
But that will mute all other useful warnings also, like doors open, fasten seatbels and such ... Tata should have just deleted that audio file from sound pack.

Excellent review and really proud to see Tata motors leading the race. But Just a few points to ponder which I hope the experienced ones here could throw some light on. 1) on-road price is around 20L for the top variant. In this price range you have many other diesel/petrol variants to compete for with better features. I agree to all the greatness and pride and sacrifice in going for an ev, which is an ideal thought. But in reality from all those who praise it, who would actually buy it for 20L. Only the very affluent who are ready for a risk and for whom money is not an issue. Its not a small amount that you would spend for a hatchback. For a common man its almost his life’s saving… 2) The state of fast charging points in Kerala is only slowly improving. So risk of facing faulty charge points and resultant tension is still a fact. And range obviously decrease with age of battery. Its not constant as in petrol/diesel. 3) After 8 years what is the resale value of an EV? Its battery would have degraded to a level where you will have to put in a huge amount to buy a new battery. Who will buy a used EV? Will any one here buy it as confidently as they would a normal petrol/diesel used car? Is an EV at such a huge price practical if you consider that it could be a struggle later on to sell it? A petrol or diesel car will still go on until you are tired of it. After 8 years or after when the battery loses its capacity to hold charge, then what would you have to spend? These are a layman’s doubts. Would really appreciate answers😊 And forgot to say: Am a great fan of your reviews. Listening to your reviews..It feels as if I am sitting at the back seat listening to two of my close buddies talking..🥰🥰👍👍
@talkingcars - THANK YOU for this amazing video. This is truly an amazing car and yes - this car could rule our roads for sometime (remembering Indica V2) How proud are we Indians to say - Mr.Ratan Tata is an Indian and he works for the betterment of his country (always☝️) ഓരോ ഇന്ത്യക്കാരന്റെയും അഹങ്കാരം (എളിമയുള്ള അഹങ്കാരം) - ശ്രി.രത്തൻ ടാറ്റ If we buy Indian products, Indian GDP will benefit, otherwise other countries will benefit. #incredibleindia अतुल्य भारत Jai Hind! I think when OEMs mention about range, they should mention expected Minimum range and maximum range. User will get better idea of what to expect and more transparency about the product.
Yeah so that user need not to worry if the battery is performing as expected or not. A realtime range indicator will help in this case, which work based on load and throttle input. (Which i expect to be there already)
Only strong (better) point which I could think of, about the older model is that it doesn’t have the drive mode audio alert 😂. Anyways great video guys!
Best review of the Nexon EV Max! Now I need not view other channels' reviews!! Good to see Vivekji getting more loquacious these days - he need not claim anymore that he knows nothing about video!! 👍 Continue rocking guys, you deserve to have 10 Lakh Subscribers. The only thing holding you back now is that it is a Malayalam-English Channel: bring out an English-only Channel, I suggest! Inspired by the Pure EV vis-à-vis the Hybrid Cars! 😜
Excellent details about the Vehicle review🚗. Never missed any videos of Talking Cars. Thank you JD & Vivekji for bringing the best content. I have the following questions, if possible answer me 😊 1. Do we have a sufficient power source available in India if we go complete electric mobility one day. 2. I believe most power plants are based on coal. I don’t know how long we can have it? Nuclear power plant?😊 3. Do we have any government plans to increase electricity availability? 4. What would be the resale value of the EV? Reason for buying some old gems due to the engine, gearbox & other reasons. battery, range and motors are getting improved day by day and who will buy old EVs. 5. Future driving tests - Without clutch and gears - What could happen in the driving test :)
Great review. Having already booked the max version without seeing or test driving it, I was eagerly waiting for your review. As expected most critical points covered. 👍 Only 2 things you could have mentioned: how effective are the ventilated seats? Also heard that the TPMS provided is not directly measuring tire pressure and uses some input from EPS and hence may not be accurate. Any info on this?
Please check rear seat space. I see that the floor has been raised to accommodate the battery. If you have taller passengers in the rear, it will be tight. Go for a test drive especially checking rear seat before you take delivery.
First of all its a great product from TATA. TATA has listened to most of the customer feedbacks. Some drawbacks and missing features. I hope TATA is listening 1. Headrest on both front seats is not comfortable. It's doesn't support the head, it is just there for name sake. 2. Wireless Android and Carplay should have been default. 3. In the back seat side handle we cannot rest the hand properly. 4. The ventilated seat switch should have been in a better place. 5. Cup holder and one more charger should have been provided somewhere in the central console. 6. Back side AC blower should have control switch. 7. Rather than keeping those orange wires (connected to battery) exposed in the bottom a covering could have given. These are minimal additions I think TATA can correct before it's delivered to customers
EV Car & Life Battery
Why Ksrtc is sinking despite all efforts to maintain it? What are the drawbacks in handling the automobiles by the corporation? Hoping an analysis on sinking of Ksrtc from Talking Cars
Tata is way ahead in electric technology and quality of vehicles has improved a lot..But now TATA should implement strict techniques to improve quality of service in their dealer network. Many dealers are still living in the era of Sumo and Indica . Now the reason which holds people from buying Tata is poor service provided by dealer
Just few general queries about EVs..... 1. Say we are charging the ev at a charging station. While waiting, if we sit inside with AC and infotainment system on, then how much time delay will be there to charge to say 80% since most EVs charge faster to 80% faster? 2. Assume we are on a long night trip and we decide to park the car safely and take a nap in the car for may be an hour or two. If we let the ac on and sleep inside, how much battery will be discharged in an hour? 3. What's the minimum cutoff charge % for the EVs after which car won't start at all?
Good to get your take on the car. One of the bad or may be the worst pillar of Tata motors is about their after sales service. Man. You just get frustrated to limits.
Means, if we set to charge until 80 percent age it will stop charging without our presence, we don't have to baby sit...I think Kona has this feature, may be not in India, I am not sure...
Nexon is a well baked product available in petrol, diesel. With automatic and manual transmission. Now with electric as icing, it becomes really desirable
Can you make podcast available in Amazon Prime Music? Your content and presentation are unique. I got enlightened on various topics from your videos, Thank you. I always look forward for your videos whenever new car launched to know your thoughts. Also, your News feed and science videos are great.
Sathyam. Paranjal was waiting for 9AM for Talking Cars review.. Is it a nice place to be in ? Paranjilla? Waiting for more clarification on the charger?
Please introduce your videos with the main highlights of the vehicle at the beginning and then go into the details. I had to hunt the whole video to get the most important upgrade to this car which is the range. It would be better if those important information are highlighted in the beginning.
