It would be awesome to see that thing tested next to the XTR. Don't sleep on kobalt y'all.

I think the only difference is the max output battery… I can hear the rpm difference with the different batteries

Great review! Just picked this up and it is absolutely amazing. Love everything about it. Ergonomically very comfortable and feels really high quality. Performance is more than I’ll ever need for an impact driver. I also picked up their new generation mid torque impact wrench that has taken off anything on my truck that I’ve attempted including rusted over 34mm front end bolts.

I say this all the time on your Kobalt reviews.. I am stuck on Makita but that power in that Kobalt is insane with a 2 Amp hour. A guy I work with has the model before this one and I loved it. Honestly at this point I'm buying it. It looks a little bigger than my brushless Makita impact. However like you said never use an impact driver on lug nuts and I agree. I would feel safe using this impact driver to change a tire on your car broke down and driving home and the torque specs would probably be already tight enough lol. It's amazing how much power impact drivers lose by not having a permanent anvil to absorb more power directly to the bolt. What I'm getting at is if this model comes with an anvil on select version's I'd be extremely interested in a review by you. Your channel has become my go to for info. Tools are expensive especially mechanics tools and it's nice that you can give us a good ball park of what the tools are capable of. Your internet personality is perfect for holding viewers attention. I also like the fact nothing you do in your videos are done half ass. You give details that will answer pretty much any question you have about a tool. Thanks for the help.

I'm just so happy that Kobalt is finally launching the Ultimate output 8ah battery. I've been waiting on that for like 2 yrs now. Was told it was coming and am so happy it's here. My XTR 5 tool kit is the business the Grinder and Rotary hammer and great. I mean I'm in trades and everyone I know is like we messed up buying DeWalt, Makita, and Milwaukee, my stuff keeps right up. The only things that red has on me is the extensive line and maybe a couple tools will out preform a couple of mine but for a carpenter Kobalt has you covered with any tool you need, for like half the cost or less.

I got the next gen 4 tool kit for 150 on their special sale. Impact, drill, Sawzall and flashlight. It also came with free battery with purchase over 100 bucks. Can't beat that

Numbers are wrong for sure. I bought it because of this video and it’s junk. I only paid $68 on the buy more save more sale and took back to Lowe’s anyways along with the next gen 1/2 in impact - also junk. The plastics and rubber these tool are made out of are also complete garbage. Cheap as crap.

I recently sold off most of my power tools so I could consolidate and get into one battery line. I chose Kobalt for the warranty and ease of service through Lowe's. I picked this up a couple of days ago and I love it.

Just curious what other power tools you have? I was looking to go with Kobalt. I need a backpack sprayer and impact wrench. Just looking to be in one platform.
@buncowpie5134
@buncowpie5134 2 года назад
@@RodSquad-Reviews I had some Dewalt and Makita tools before. Now the only one I have that isn't Kobalt is the Ryobi inflator I keep in my car. Ultimately, my main 2 priorities were being on one platform (inflator notwithstanding) and a good warranty with an easy way to utilize it if necessary. Kobalt checked both of those boxes. I don't require a huge variety of tools, though. While Kobalt doesn't have as big of a selection as other brands, it fits my needs perfectly.

Have you ever tried the XTR line? If so how does it compare to this impact driver
@dan260140
@dan260140 2 года назад
@@IMPACT-NATION I currently own the xtr drill and it’s kinda top/head heavy. Kinda heavy with the 4 amp high output. Recommend getting the 2 amp but other than that it’s a good drill. Plenty of power compared to makita
@buncowpie5134
@buncowpie5134 2 года назад
@@IMPACT-NATION I have. I actually bought the XTR impact a few days before this one became available. I really loved it, but decided to return it and get the 3rd Gen impact. I don't need the extra power, and I much prefer a one-handed collet (first world problems). Both are excellent impacts at a great price, I just prefer the extra mode, smaller size, and the little bit extra convenience on the newer one.

I've get the previous gen Kobalt 24v 6-tool kit and it all works great. Also have the XTR hammer drill which has worked great for putting in holes in brick/mortar/cement for tapcons. I'd like to see that new gen3 circular saw in more action. I like the blade now on the other side for right handed cutters. THNX

my suv specs is 100fts and my F150 spex is oddly... 150fts, which i thought was avg. and ive oftne used my impact driver to put on or take of lugs, np. then hit it with the torque wrench. Also.. as i use one EVERY single day, i can telll you that power is crap, ..size, ergonomics, Lights! , and NOT stripping or "spinning out" the fasteners IS KING

Kobalt is an under-rated brand, they are decent tools, made by the same company that makes flex, chervon , so kobalt shares flex's DNA, possibly same factory, very similar engineering... good value for your money

I have learn how the top brands tools are design to support DIY projects with their slow rotating features while simultaneously they are generally design for robust jobs. But these brands tools are typically very expensive. Not everyone have budget to Cater for expensive tools so DIY cheap alternative tools is perfect for DIY folks.

Got my hand on a XTR brad nailer. Not sure if I recommend it....the rubber tip makes dents on the workpiece and the nail hole appears big...half the time.

they dont sell XTR brad nailer. its just the regular 24v brushless.
@ProxyFinal
@ProxyFinal 2 года назад
@@ayowheredeeway it is part of the XTR line my friend. The box clearly advertises XTR all over it. The way you distinguish it is by the over mold on the tool. The new 24v goes with a slightly different look that looks less edgy than the XTR.

So interestingly the manual says finish mode is for thin metal and self tap mode is for thicker metal. Anyone have luck with finish mode on non metal? I thought it was to prevent stripping out screws.

Weird… I just bought this tool with exact same adapter and impact socket, yet it can’t takeoff a lug nut torqued to 100 ft lbs.
@davidricardo86
@davidricardo86 8 месяцев назад
Try taking the lug nut off with a breaker bar, re-tighten the lug nut to 100 ft-lb, and try it again. It seems a lot of people experience this with lug nuts, my guess is corrosion is causing the seizure with lug nuts.

Probably a Husky adapter. They're one of the best. The problem is, ALL the brands change their adapters constantly, so it's really hard to recommend one. Thanks for watching.
