I cannot get over the fact that they cost as much as a squat rack or some 70lbs powerblocks. There’s no denying that they are awesome but wow they are 3-4 times as much as I’d be willing to pay.
I received my Ghost Strong Return Roller J-Cups in the mail two weeks ago. I ordered a custom pair, to fit my Body-Solid GPR378. The J-Cups showed up in about 3 weeks from when ordered. They are great. Everyone in the family loves them. I'm just rewatching this video again now, in case I forgot any helpful tips or anything.
I just purchased these from Rogue who now manufactures them. They are $206 shipped now and have UHMW on the front of the cup. The only down side is they fit loosely on my Rep Fitness PR4000 rack but I was able to fix this by installing washers between the UHMW on the backside of the cup. Overall I’m pleased with them.
The only thing you’re missing is a catchy outro 😄 Coop-peace ::snaps fingers:: Brandon- thanks for watching and stay big Other than that your videos are top notch!
@@GarageGymLab With the rollers? The 1" bars look like they barely fit, there's no way there's space for a 2" diameter sleeve on there without grinding metal on metal.
A company called Aperture Engineering makes UHMW sliders you can clip onto the front for $25 per pair. I have them for my Rogue spotter arms and Titan roller j-cups.
Great review, thanks Adam. Question: you quickly showed that peg board over your water heater on the tour, do you have another video showing how u built it and how the hinge works, trying to design mine and could use some pointer. Thanks
Hey buddy, thanks for the comment! It's actually pretty straight forward. I used 2x3 studs to create a rectangle frame and then took another stud straight down the middle for additional support and to mount in the inner holes of the wall control. The hinges are just some heavy duty ones from Lowes. Just leveled it up and hung it to swing towards that long side wall running to the garage door. Since every space is different and has its own nuances, its hard to offer exact measurements, etc... but hopefully this will get you moving in the right direction. Let me know if I can provide any additional insight!
These are awesome, but I'm currently saving up for: Steel Plates, 50-100 lb DBs, Adjustable Bench, Sled, Mass Storage for DB set, Landmine, Jerk Blocks, Crash Pads, Sand Bags, Bands, a selectorized Lat Pulldown. I'll eventually come around to getting these tho.
I currently have a 4-post Monster Rack, a WL platform, Dip bar, Ohio Bar, Bella Bar, Punching Bag, KB Set, 5-50 DB set, Concept 2 Rower, 405 lbs in bumpers, a GHD, an Echo Bike, Abmat, Flat Bench, Physio Ball, Gymnastics rings, KlevaBuilt Jack, and a few other trinkets. Oh and I completely covered the floor with horse stall mats. I decided to build a home gym because of closed gyms during the pandemic, plus I legit got certified as a PT the weekend before last the lockdown in March of 2020. I "invested" all of my savings into this gym and am trying to save up for another batch order of stuff. Shipping to PR is expeeeensive.
As far as I am concern the most professional reviews about gym equipments are made by You and Coop. I am building my home Gym and I have a lot of hacks that will be useful to the gym owners to common. Problems. I saw your review about the Rep special edition green mono lift and I can solve the problems that you mentioned. We will be in touch soon. Deepdirk
Worth the money? Yeah, my only issue with them is that it is the only J cup that can fit a duffalo bar. I had it fall off when unloading it (with one 25KG on the side). For me buying it would be a safety concern primarily. It's strange how there was no demand for a J CUP like this before. i hope someone picks up the idea and reproduces them at an affordable price. Genuinely afraid the bar will tip and fall on my dog or something like that.
Great vid. Very thorough explanation of things in a calm way. Like I would want my attorney to. Bells of steel with be my kiss of death. Ghost please make a Kadillac bar insert ugh.
Good stuff my dude, ghost strong makes some excellent gear and you pay for it too. Can you do a review on an FID bench if you haven’t already? Keep up the good work my man, I’ll be watching.
Really like your videography style and you have a great way of thoroughly explaining everything. Keep up the great work! PS: Would love to do something with you one day as I think it could be beneficial to both of our channels and viewers, since we have a similar style in how we present our content, and both focus on the quality of info presented.
Yes,I would like to have that J-cups.Unfortunately shipping and customs will double the price. Why don‘t they have a reseller or there own warehouse in the EU?It is the biggest economy in the world. Rogue is the only company that sells in Europe and even they offer only a reduced choice of goods over here.
As Garage Gym Lab mentioned, they fit as long as you choose the 3/4” option. I actually just got my phoenix rack yesterday, and the rollers fit very snug. Hope that helps!
Is there an issue when you're using the roller to adjust since it's only secured from one side? I'm getting a PR5000, which I think is only 2.95"x2.95" instead of 3"x3", so the tolerances might not be quite as tight. Do these work well on your PR5000? The rounded sandwich cups from Rep have two side securement pins, which I'm a big fan of, but I'm unsure how necessary it is.
I just can’t click purchase for that price. It’s hard to justify. Plus, the ghost cups don’t support the width of the kabuki strength kadillac bar which is what I use fir benching and overhead press. I’d rather sucker a family member to buy me them for a birthday or holiday.
The duffalo blocks don't fit. the depth is correct... but on the titan bar, the bolt is too low for the blocks to mount... i think thats the same issue with the rollers
@@GarageGymLab Yeah mines does, When i asked Ghost about it they said its a 4in above from the bottom. Also that it was made like that to create a wedge for tighter fit. Which is weird to me because i thought it was suppose to have a snug fit
lol its $340 and they still charge for shipping. I looked into it and with the cheapest shipping option, this thing comes out to $447. Lol ya, nobodies buying this shit.
Nobody needs that shit. 350$ for that hahaha. Everything you need is a good Barbell and enough Plates. Everything else you can make alone (pull up bar, dip bars, power rack...). People ned to talk and spend less and train more!
