Hopefully, God keeps the Ukrainian Catholic Church under the protection of the Theotokos and the guidance of the Holy Ghost. If it pleases Him, He will keep Sviatoslav as the Patriarch of Kyiv (which he clearly seems to be very skilled at). If it pleases Him, He could also move Sviatoslav to the Papacy of Rome.

It is nice to hear this, I am hoping for an African pope since most are orthodox like the late John Paul 2 and Benedict. Unfortunately, Francis has appointed many cardinals who I suspect share his ideals.

God bless you Father, I think this is a really unique insight. The Eastern Church gives me such hope. The schism was the most unfortunate thing to ever happen to the church. But there is something special about the East, particularly the Slavs. There is no doubt God will use them to show the West what it has lost. I pray that the next Pope comes from there, as there are very few Latin prelates still fighting for the faith.

I have been truly convinced for several years that Major Archbishop Sviatoslav Shevchuck could indeed become the next Pope, but I had never seen anyone advance this possibility in such a direct, clear and justified way. I could add one or two more reasons why I believe in this possibility and one of them is Fatima. I have been studying all the details of the message of Fatima for several years and I believe that the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church is closely linked to the future Triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary. I'm glad I found this channel. Thank you, Father Jason. Please continue making these enlightening videos. God bless Ukraine.

Major Archbishop is correct on this matter, and he will be vindicated alongside the other bishops who reject this new document. Pope Francis will be declared an anti pope in the future by another pope because of this document, amoris lat, pachamama, and many other things he's said and done. God bless the Church and protect it from all errors. God bless you Father. Stay true to your calling. You're a great priest.

That would mean there was no pope and at that point the claims of the Catholic church are falsified and therefore irrelevant. Or you know, maybe, just like every other time in history, the pope isn't a heretic and those who protest will be the ones that are judged by the Church.

When I was at the Dicastery for the Eastern Catholic churches last year, I gave a presentation to fellow canon law students and when given the chance to ask questions to someone working there (a priest from the Syro-Malabar Church), I asked about the likelihood of an Eastern Catholic pope... particularly one from the UGCC. It was pretty much "laughed" at and, in my opinion, very superficial reasons were given. 😢 Greetings from your friends in Germany!

@@Adam-nu9gu I wish I could believe that, but I have my doubts. I don’t say this to antagonize or criticize anyone, but I have Orthodox friends who admit quite frankly that some Orthodox view Eastern-rite Catholics with a certain mistrust, as if they “should” be Orthodox and are almost traitors for being in communion with Rome. My fear is that some Orthodox would view the election of an Eastern bishop to the papacy as a slap in the face, and relations between East and West would be thereby strained. (And if anyone Orthodox reads this and feels offended, accept my apologies in advance. I’m only reiterating what some Orthodox friends have themselves told me.)

If you are talking about documents you should link them. Fiducia Supplicans and the response you are referring to, by the way the Church has always blessed sinners. At the end of every mass a blessing is given to the people gathered by the priest. Unless you can seriously claim that all the people in the Church at all those blessing are saint with no sin, then we bless sinners of all stripes, all the time! Also, what are the ramifications of saying that a magisterial teaching does not apply to certain subsections of the Church, that is crazy and by no means Catholic. I first saw you on PWA and it is rather disappointing that yourself and Matt (and so many other Catholic personalities) are unable to see the truth, goodness, and beauty in fullness. Blessings (and I have no idea the sins being committed by you are anybody and I can still ask God to bless you)!

The church has always blessed individuals, yes. Everyone knows that. What cannot be blessed is sin. That includes irregular unions. There is no difference between a couple and their union.

Though Mayor Archbishop Sviatoslav could be a great Pope and though I've disagreed with Pope Francis on some decisions in the past, it seems that the premise of this proposal is an anti-Francis one, reading Fiducia Supplicans with suspicion and expecting the worst from the Pope by calling his invitation an "euphenism." Is there indeed a difference in rites? Well, in the Latin Church, blessings are not approval. The Latin Church blesses sinners unable to receive the Eucharist at the moment of Communion. The Latin Church blesses unrepentent sinners who can't receive absolution in Confession. I would even say that the blessing in the Byzantine Church is not only approval, since at the end of the Divine Liturgy the priest blesses everybody present, regardless of the state of grace, without approving their sin. Moreover, FS#5 is clear that the Church cannot bless irregular unions and reaffirms the 2021 dubia that states the Church cannot bless sin. Also, FS#8 is clear that blessings are only given to people. Several times in the document it is expressed that blessings cannot be given to anything that is not the matrimony of a man and woman open to life. If you read the document as a whole, you need to read #31 in the spriti of everything said. It's a blessing to the sinners to stop sinning, it is not a blessing or a legitimization of the union. The blessing given as an example by cardinal Fernández says everything: "Lord, look at these children of yours, grant them health, work, peace and mutual help. Free them from everything that contradicts your Gospel and allow them to live according to your will. Amen." Blesses the sinners and asks God for the grace to help them overcome temptation. Abuses by progressive ideologues or attacks on the Pope by anti-Francis bishops like Schneider do not change the content of the Declaration. I like your proposal of Mayor Archbishop Sviatoslav for Pope; I completely disagree with your reasoning and your reading of Pope Francis. This video causes more division and doesn't help the Church's unity. I'll pray for those harmed by this video.
@3ggshe11s
@3ggshe11s 7 месяцев назад
Fiducia Supplicans allows for the blessing of same-sex unions. It says couples, but that's a distinction without a difference. Individuals are blessed, and that's not a problem, but things to be blessed must conform to God's will. You are falling for the Vatican's doublespeak. It puts the church on a very dangerous slippery slope.
@PFiliusDeisj
@PFiliusDeisj 7 месяцев назад
@@3ggshe11s No, FS does not allows for the blessing of same-sex unions. FS#5: "the Church does not have the power to impart blessings on unions of persons of the same sex." FS cannot be clearer. However ill-chosen the word "couple" might be, the document is clear it should be interpreted as blessing a pair of sinners seeking God. There is no doublespeak. There is no slippery slope. Only if one believes Pope Francis is a heretic that want to use subterfuge to change the doctrine of the Church could such reading of the document be feasible. Hence, the problem is with the prejudice of the reader, not with the document itself, which states in several places that any union outside the "matrimony of a man and a woman open to life" cannot be blessed. Furthermore, by confirming the Dubia from 2021 in FS#5, the document assumes the premise "Sin cannot be blessed." All the confusion is caused, on the one hand, by Catholics suspicious of Francis who judge everything he does as a betrayal of the faith, or, on the other hand, by Catholics in name only who believe the Pope can actually change doctrine and believe Francis wants to do so. Both side slander the Pope with their prejudices. He doesn't want to change doctrine (again traditionalists) nor can he change doctrine (against progressives). Mayor Archbishop Sviatoslav's declaration about the difference in rites can be understood as a just that. So, I don't accuse him of causing confusion. This said, if one reads FS as faulty, one will probably read his words as a condemnation of FS.

Father, Does your Byzantine Bishop you suggest to become Pope practice the devotion of Adoration involving the use of a monstrance? Eucharistic Processions are The Universal Church. If your suggested bishop has never led, or shows the slightest resistence to leading a Eucharistic Procession, then he is currently unworthy of the Papacy. I'm instead preferring a bishop from Hungary.

@@TheBadgerDad_TheByzantineLife follow me for a moment: if a bishop is expected to make the concession of giving up his birth name to take in its place a philosophically-infused moniker when becoming Pope, then a Byzantine bishop explicitly and overtly infusing the Latinate act of the Eucharistic Procession into the Byzantine tradition is a much lesser concession than giving up one's own birth name by comparison. I'm asking for almost nothing... What follows is an aside: Here's the rub, The problem is, I'm inundated by men-who-would-be-husbands falsely maintaining the belief that they are actually thinking like men-would-be-priests, when nothing could be further from the truth. Its just like that British meme: 'Are we the baddies?' "Wait-a-minute, am I matrimony material instead of holy orders material? Awe crud. THAT'S why they're seperate sacraments. Becuase they require principally different mindsets engaging completely different ends. The telos of the Catholic priest is Transubstantiation of species at the altar. The telos of the Catholic husband is well-formed Catholic children who exhibit an UN-WOUNDED and persevering love." Don't belive me? Simply look at scripture. 1 COR 7. One group of people was made to please their husbands and wives. The other group was made to please God. Two seperate groups with two seperate dispositions. Why do I say this? Thinking like non-husband: If a man is *unwilling to kneel down* to Our LORD Jesus Christ, King of The Universe, free of any distinctions (the Byzantines say they only kneel for penitence), then that man is unfit for the Papacy. Why? Kneeling is also a fitting sign of humility and loyalty before a King. I wonder how many Byzantine Catholic fiancés got down on one knee to propose to their wives but, won't do the exact same, 'I-Love-You-Kneeling' to God in The Flesh?
