The bubble is a perfect metaphor for what this show is. Just putting these women in absolutely ridiculous and impossible situations and just observing and laughing when they fail.
I think the laughing would be comforting for me, I’d rather have that than a dead crowd just staring at me motionless while I flail around, that would be more traumatizing.
Models have been mistreated (even abused) by industry professionals (designers, photographers and staff) for a long time. Banks has shared her bad experiences w/public. So it’s rich on her part to be the 1 subjecting these girls to dumb challenges in which they get mocked and embarrassed for entertainment.
Well, the show hade like 20 seasons from different parts of the world so the girls obviously know what's up when they signed up. It os supposed to be fun.
I would like to think the reason Tyra did these challenges to prepare some of the girls for the real model industry. Not this bubble challenges but those themes that involve water or like the "it " trends with weird clothing and hair. Believe it or not there designers that go overboard with premieres of they're designer lines.

I used to think this show was a legit representation of the fashion industry. That Tyra was giving us a peak behind the curtain of Milan. Now I realize it was her funhose of horrors
I must be the only dumb ass cause I thought if I would have thought of “drownings”, sprains, or breaks (fractures or clean brakes). Hair gets wet no matter what.
Most people are talking and how the show was about intentionally embarrassing and humiliating these models but in addition to that these ridiculous runways were so dangerous. What if the harness malfunctioned when walking down the side of the building? What if one of the girls hit the back of their head on that narrow runway when falling in that bubble? What if someone broke their ankle in those ridiculously high platform shoes? This was seriously toxic
Well a lesser version of this would be used to see if the models could contain themselves while doing or wearing things that that they are ment to fail on
If I was to fall during any of the challenges I would’ve faked an injury or unconsciousness. Like in the bubble… I would’ve just laid there and stalled the whole show til they came to get me: “you thought I was gonna get up?… nope.”
I can't believe this. How can people put women in these situations? Just goes to show that no matter where a woman goes, exploitation and humiliation of sorts will always follow. And, the fact that other women are part of the masterminds behind this makes it so much worse. This really is heartbreaking!
Funny how people like to point out how unfair the modeling industry is to women. When female models make 47 to 75% more than male models and the male models used in shows like these are basically props in speedos and tight underwear.
They are STRESS challenges, it’s not about a successful walk per say it’s about putting the models in situations to see how they would handle a fall, or a wardrobe malfunction or to see if they can maintain their composure and still photo well under pressure.
Then give it as a lesson and don't laught at them like they are stupid for not managing to walk on water or break the gravity. The most of the "challenges" are very dangerous .
To take a good photo?? With hands on fire or in a bubble on water? Every model interviewed has said they can't use the portfolio shots they had taken for the show as they were too outrageous to be taken seriously.
ANTM was still a fun part of my childhood. Sorry for your bad experiences, girls, but know that as a kid, you've entertained me and made my childhood hella fun.
These judges think that, they are some fashionistas and shit, i have never heard about any of them except for tyra only because she had a beef with naomi. If you compare this show with “The Face”, it’s like a comparison between a circus and a pragmatic runway respectively.
Kendall watching this pissed. Because this is just humiliating the models and the modelling profession. These are not challenges, this is just torture.

Looking back these challenges were ridiculous. I have Never seen any real models do anything like this. Kanye, tyra idk what they think they are doing. It's traumatic! 😂😂😂
Just by watching this got me anxiety. I can't imagine the trauma I might been through if I were in this show. Like, I really don't get it. Don't people do catwalk to show the clothes? So what the hell- people want to buy the clothes not watching sircus.
To think I used to love this show and love modeling is so beyond me. These toxic types of people make up most of the world though. This is bullying and humiliation. And most young people don’t realize it because they just want approval of others.
See back then there would never be a catwalk or runway like this...but seeing the way runway fashion is now this training definitely wouldve been needed lmao.
All modeling challenges are so weird and crazy!!! Except for catwalk on fire stage! My most favorite part, where you can kill the attitude while you walk! 😁🔥👠👠
if you want models to look fabulous when walking down the side of a building they need stunt training X'D and now find a stuntwoman who is also a model or the other way around THEN you will have the perfect runway on the side of a building ;)
The only host to do this was Cindy from ASNTM. Cindy was even seen getting scared to do the challenge. Tyra never do this and that just disgusts me of her hypocrisy.
Top tip. Don’t take the piss out of other women when they trying. You don’t know how it is till you try. For all you know.. the worse sound effect is for you
