Well I am 44 and from Colorado and been a part of the NF Army since the Moments album which was before Mansion. I knew from day one Nate was one of the most prolific artists of this generation. Crazy part is I prefer hard rock but real is real. Never miss his shows and my kids love him too. His music is therapy for the masses. And no bitches and hoes and all that crap rap! You two are the cutest couple. Happy to see you joining the journey! Now I have Pink Floyd Fridays at work and NF Fridays after yay! I love to see people discover NF! He actually wrote this song while in therapy. He had a mental breakdown and admitted himself. This was the project that most therapy sessions make you do, what would you tell your younger self.

Not sure about the “checking in” part but he did go through (still might be) therapy. Yes, he was given an assignment to write to his younger self. He came up with this track because music is his only way honestly expressing himself.

He wrote this song when he was in an intense mental health treatment program immediately following the perception tour. He had to do an exercise where he had to sit in a room across from,a chair imagining it was him younger self and what would he say. I love the fact that he is real with his younger self. Lots of people have done the talk to your younger self thing but he dies it in the most honest way. Not just telling himself bout how everything is gonna be so great when he's older. His transparency and vulnerability are unmatched in the game!
