Buffalo has a top 5 defense even with substantial injuries, they also don't blitz often. White didn't see it before the snap and wasn't able to react in time after.
As a Bills fan, all I could think was why dont the Jets coaches pull him or all out protect. The man is already destroyed and you are leaving him out there in front of a f**king bulldozer to die.
Lifelong Packer fan… I hope they get Justin Fields some adequate protection. He can escape and make plays but my goodness hes gonna die behind that revolving door. Bears have MILLIONS to spend next season. But whats it worth if they cant protect their man?
It's crazy how desperate the Jets are since they kept putting Mike White in after taking numerous shots to the chest. After the game he had to go to the hospital
@@Randomstlhero yeah he broke his ribs and because of that he was out for a couple weeks. After each hit he was visibly hurt and kept taking shots to the ribs that I’m surprised he didn’t puncture a lung
@@RedMo46 Appreciate the respect even from a big rival. But yeah the guy's gonna be broken early in his career if they dont get some damn protection and offense around him. Frustrating to watch with how great he could be
major props to white though. dudes a competitor. that takes some real mental strength to take those brutal hits head on and still have the confidence to get back up and keep trying to make plays
Only because he has too. Even at 2.5 mil he will feel this season forever. Dude is 6’5. Thank god. If he wasn’t I’m sure he wouldn’t even have a brain anymore.
That game made me a big fan, I'm really hoping he finds a team and has success in the NFL. Not many people out there, including in the NFL, are gonna be able to keep getting up after those hits. Not to mention, we now know his ribs were broken.
They really need to take away some of the protection for QB slides. They can't instantly be protected as soon as they give themselves up and start to slide. What they should do, is give like a one-step grace period for the hit, so QBs will either start their slide earlier or run into contact. As it is, they run to contact but when it comes time to put their shoulder to the defender, they slide, which is just too late for such a huge penalty.
@@teebob21 We can only hope. Their actual job is playing football, a game to entertain the masses. Football is a physical game. If you want to be a running back, be prepared to get hit.
I really like how these quarterbacks are sliding way too late, half-sliding, sliding trying for a first down and then they're surprised when they get blasted.
Wish there was a rule change about the no hitting a sliding QB. Something like the defender can't get flagged if the slide is initiated within a yard of the defender. Especially since I've seen some QBs fake a slide and gain more yards.
@@WJWeber clearly. If someone on the defense is trying to tackle someone at the waist / hips and the quarterback slides and their head Is now on the same level as the waist / hips what could a defender possibly do except defy physics and changes trajectory???
@@JohnDoe-zw8vx exactly, if you are going to run you should be treated like a runner because they wanna play the hero but don't want to get hit bunch of pussies.
Usually I love watching QBs get hit even late sometimes lol but man when the Jets QB kept getting lit up I actually felt bad for them. Worse part was how clean the hits was, nothing high all mid section folding them up.
The mike white hit is so clean and so damaging. It is a perfect tackle and that reminds me of the old school hits where you hit them perfectly and you could punish them with the hit. lol The tua hits when his hands lock up just bring me right back to watching one of my friends get hit right next to me in football and his hands did the same thing. We had an ambulance come out and get him. He ended his season after that game (4 games left) and stuck to helping out with water after cause his concussion he wasn’t the same for weeks.
That Mike White hit was super clean. And it's why if I were a GM, I would have a long hard conversation with myself about drafting Bryce Young. He's got all the talent in the world, but he's the size of a 5th grader.
@@sinocte Looking at this now, seeing how good Bryce has done in preseason, I'd say he'll do just okay the first few years, and then after year 4 we'll really start to see if he's at his fellow QBs his generation. I say he could be anywhere from prime Russ Wilson.
@@youtubeuser9090that was not just one big hit lol. one is definitely more recognizable but he was getting slammed and smacked around all game long. it was pretty sad to watch, that O-line gave him 0 protection
You could make quite a long video of all the big hits Danny Dimes has taken since entering the league. Year in & year out that guy lays it all out on the field.
@@Truxtx_ herbert was pushed into greenlaw who was already going for a hit by ward. Greenlaw was already commited to the hit before herbert started going down from the hit by ward.
In high school, we were coached to hit helmet to helmet - I often wonder how many undiagnosed concussions I suffered. I evenually suffered a back injury that ended my organized football playing days
Remember "cat in the alley" two lines facing each other. Runner and hitter run behind the boys then turn around back down the alley. helmet to helmet everytime
@@johnfreeman2496 I do - that is how I injured my back - after the defender and I hit helmet to helmet - and I passed him - i relaxed because the drill was over - but the defender turned around and drilled me in the lower backwhen I was not expecting it - I was done with my football career at that moment
he was already hurt from multiple hits the last few games. dude takes a beating and still plays. i'll never forget the day he threw a game winning touchdown with a dislocated shoulder
@@michaelfritts7464 fr how are people questioning his toughness? And people are also not understanding how hard that hit was because he fell straight in line with the camera behind him and those ground level cameras have a weird effect on perspective and depth perception. It doesn't look that bad if you don't realize he hit his head straight on the ground from standing straight up and that's a big sudden stop which is not good for your brain
Can we talk about how the NFL mishandled Tua this season? Dude took a hit to the head where he literally cannot stand without assistance and they not only say its not a concussion, but let him keep playing that game and take another the next week where he AGAIN loses all motor control?
I remember years ago, a defensive line had a shot at the QB on the blind side. The linemen slowed down and just grabbed the QB. I respected him for that. He wanted to tackle the guy, not hurt him. Now a days they want to injure the QB.
Holy crap! Some of those hits made me hurt and I was just watching it on you tube!!! I realize football is a contact sport but dang some of those hits could have caused brain damage!
I remember the Buffalo vs NY Jets game…jets QB White, got slammed ALL game long! Tough guy but damn, I know he had a few cracked ribs and was pissin blood for about 2 weeks straight🎯
watching that jets vs bills game on tv, i felt super nervous everytime that jets QB got hit because if i'm not mistaken he had a broken rib or something, but he kept going, i was thinking to myself the whole time after seeing him being in so much pain, "this dude is going to die to try to win" i figured he isn't coming out until the games over or until the coach forces him out.
"That's part of the position; Are you able to stand in there and TAKE IT?" - Not on EVERY DAMN PLAY, and frankly no one should be expected to. I'd love to hear what he thinks the o-line's job is.
🇬🇧 lions fan, Mike White got hit so hard but kept going. Respect to him for that. And with the recent draft, how are the Jets meant to protect Rogers, Wilson or White?!
In all honesty the Jets coaching staff should have been charged with attempted homicide. Trotting Mike White out there THAT many times isn't an oversight.
The one at 0:47 should have been a flag for roughing the passer. Direct shot to the upper body and then coming down with all his weight on the QB while he was on the ground. That's literally THE definition of roughing according to the rules. I'm surprised no flag was thrown there.
Even with all the new rules....some hits are still terrifying. All those shots to the body....like I'm pretty sure the x-rays are going to look like a toddler drew all over em with a crayon.
