Sidney was a little different though - he was experiencing concussion-like symptoms for long after it was expected he would be healthy. It ended up turning out that he has a kind of neck injury that was causing his symptoms. But yes, take as much time as is needed and do all the tests.

it was pretty tough to watch on Friday when they were absolutely shilling for the nfl and pretending like theres no way in the world the rules weren't followed. And then a day later? Turns out they weren't. Good to see them admit their ignorance but hopefully they take this as a lesson that they don't need to pretend like the NFL never makes mistakes.

It is a sign of true maturity. The irony is that the show takes itself less seriously overall.

Exactly, what a crock. I saw neurologists on a show talking about it talks 4-6 weeks to begin to heal and almost all the players come back the next week. And big stars and qb's are always let back in. Only a few teams like Kansas City will pull any player out of the game.

This. Often you can have very mild symptoms covered , untill after the event. Problem is we have so many "experts" stating " it's obvious when you have a concussion , you act like x,y,z". And that's not true. You can function through some concussions, you can immediately be knocked out through others.

Some concussions don’t have symptoms until days later, too. I got told to go back to work after a head injury at home. Before I even went to to work, two days after doctor tests, I started getting horrible concussion symptoms. Don’t go to a hospital. Get a neurologist to do it. They know what they’re talking about.

It does not take an expert to know if it burns when you pee you might have vd but if you lie to your doctor good luck treating it! No arguments being brought forward about Tua's accountability in the process as the patient!

Millions of people saw what he saw and we all figured he was done because it was bad. Not McDaniel though, the Doc said he’s clear and he didn’t hesitate for a second. Players are conditioned to nut up and get in there. Somebody needs to protect them from themselves

Yup, I was an infantry medic and had to diagnose concussions on the spot. I have no doubt that the first hit was a concussion. I'm almost positive of it actually. Head impact with a whipping motion, remained on the ground for longer than normally expected after the impact, put his hands up to his face while on the ground, shook his head when he got up, lost his balance while walking, and then had the "noodle body" as we called it. Its literally textbook symptoms of a neurological event.

You fail to understand one thing...it was actually the NFLPA that dismissed the doctor. And in terms not following protocol, doesn't mean Tua evaluation wasn't correct , it could been as simple as going through a certain line of command ,or having the same doctor do a follow up. NFL isn't to blame for tua injury .. the nature of the game is.

That's not what occured.. Trent was scratched from the pro bowl He then went under the knife to removed a growth .. He then held out of camp.. Now is possible the medical staff at that time missed something ,of course But Trent wanted a extension on his contract that is ultimately why he held out.. Not medical issues. He was never cleared to play, he failed his physical

@@deliriouswhome1 so in 2013 Trent Williams found a growth on his head, raised the issue to the medical team, they acknowledged it but insisted it was not a concern despite its continued growth, cut to 2019 Redskins team doctors become concerned at the size the growth has reached as it has continued to grow and now decide to send Trent to a specialist to have the growth examined, the specialist determines it is a serious health issue but it will need further testing to diagnose, Trent is sent to a Chicago Hospital for said tests but the team only pays to fly him to Chicago not back, Trent is diagnosed with cancer and begins treatment, after finishing treatment Trent fails a physical when he can't comfortably put on a helmet because as he said "surgeons had cut out 30 percent of his scalp to remove the tumor, and that some pain remains from the two procedures to repair the wound."

@@deliriouswhome1 Washington's medical team failed to notice a continuously growing tumor on Trent Williams head for SIX YEARS to the point it began eating through his skull. A little more time and it would have crept into his brain and if not killed him ,it would've undoubtedly ended his football career.

He was never cleared to play in any game during the situation.. I don't think the original post was too mislead, they just didn't know exactly want occured, they even stated that fact themselves. Trent wanted an extension on current contract , the holdout itself was not about medical. Trent and his agent never filed a complaint over the issue or seeked legal action. This was media driven situation, that mostly only showcased one side of the situation.. To actually understanding the situation in fullest ,you have understand the collective bargaining agreement.. I'm not saying the growth washf diagnosed, that occurs in medical field occasionally, what I'm saying he Trent had options ,he never used, then played it off life it was life threating , when there a 99% survival rate. Your talking a unrelated football injury. Trent signed a contract extension in 2015, and was going into his last season with the redskins when he held out.. This was about getting another extension, at higher rate than the team was willing to give ,given his injury history.(football related injuries)

Tee higgins got a concussion against Steelers and sat the next week. Against jets, tough hit, but no concussion. That’s why nobody is talking about it

So a concussion if you back playing in two weeks or less I don't see how that can be safe especially when as a receiver he probably more at risk at getting hit. I am not saying Tua should have been in there but these linemen and Linebackers are getting dinged every week and play on. Remember when they first started talking about CTE they were not just talking about concussions it was the accumulative hits to the head that a lot of players receive throughout the game and there careers. These guys are on the sidelines using smelling sauce. They getting dinged a lot.

That’s just not how NFL players see it. Tua even said on Friday or Saturday that he’s concerned about how many games he’ll miss because of this.

A s a college LB no football player would ever do that, at least a large majority would definitely be willing to lie just to get back onto the field, we know the risks we sign up for but I do understand that it’s a little different when millions are on the line

@@hotbobbysauce950 yeah Tua is still in the process of making a name for himself for potential 100s of millions some day and the dolphins are competitive for the first time in quite a while. It seems easy for most of us to see those 2 horrific plays and think he should take off as long as he is possibly allowed from the NFL but unfortunately that's not how he got to where he is. He might regret not pushing for time off through this in the future one day but in the moment he is going to play as much as they will possibly allow. The only way this works is taking the decision out of Tuas hands all together.

That’s not how most athletes think and that’s why I say, they know what they signed up for! Serious injuries and even death is a possibility on each play. It’s only being talked about because the world saw him get up and stumbled black to the ground. If that Sunday fall some how wasn’t taped and Thursday happened as it did, we wouldn’t even hear about this today. They would have wished him thoughts and prayers and moved right along.

i didn't see it that way. He's saying there's too many things we don't know and speculating that perhaps it was a rogue doctor, but perhaps the league outlined the steps these doctors must take; i.e. telling the neurologists how to do their jobs. Maybe the doctor followed protocol laid out by the NFL, and according to that criteria, there was no concussion. Too many unanswered questions still.

Bro, I’m a contractor that works in a lot of hospitals throughout the state. Surgeons have some of the biggest egos I’ve ever freaking seen. Most are aholes. Everyone else in the hospital actually tend to be very nice in my experience. Every time I have to do work in a OR my spirit dies. Hospital admins have been terrible but I don’t know near enough of them compared to surgeons. Take this with a grain of salt because it’s not everyone of course.

Intelligence carries the propensity for that. It’s up to the parents to balance that EQ.

@@d8l835 It doesn’t matter whether he passed the tests or not or how he said he feels. It should have been ruled a concussion in the Bills game after he wobbled twice trying to get up. That should have been the end of it. The only way to “get around that” is some weird wording in the protocol. Something along the lines of “was the motor instability orthopaedic in nature.” A doctor has a pretty good video explaining it.

And whether the neurologist didn't follow protocol, whether Tua lied about his back or whether he was given that excuse to get back in the game or whether someone in Miami hierarchy or unduly influenced the independent neurologist or a combination.

As a college LB I think I can speak for most football players and say we know and understand the risks we sign up for, I wish people didn’t constantly try and implement so many rules to keep making the game soft and could just understand that football is a dangerous game. And there’s absolutely no way we can truly prevent concussions without completely ruining the game

At a certain point I think we all have to acknowledge that a lot of the concussion issues are widely known. I can't imagine the NFLPA isn't circulating as much as they can about the severity of brain injuries. Some of the players are just going to play anyways. It's not the best decision but it is a decision.

Look at Tee Higgins on Bengals - concussion week1, did not player week 2, knocked out cold week 3 in a head to head hit against Jets - returned same game and also played Thursday same as Tua.... no one says a word

Wilkins laid somebody out for instance and the guy laid down and pretended it was a cramp. He was clearly out of wack. No one is really watching and the players are not going to take themselves out the game.
