Variations on a theme called "Don't Turn Away" were used for a variety of sports on NBC in the 1970s and 1980s. The most well known version was used for baseball, hockey and football game coverage in the mid-70s and as the pregame theme for the network's NFL pregame show from around 1977-82. In the late 1970s, NBC used a marching band variation of the theme for its NFL coverage. By 1980, NBC used this disco version of the theme that actually was nothing more than a razor blade edit job on an image theme that had vocals. I've spared you the vocals and digitally edited together how the theme was heard during game broadcast intros in the 1980 and 1981 seasons.
