So I had this on in the background, and literally the moment Sam echoes Steve with "Learn from Flacco. Throw up a prayer, and every now and again it's going to be answered...", that instant youtube cuts away for an ad for some...I think vacation spot and they're playing this upbeat, almost angelic music and for a beat and a half I'm like "WOAH, are they doing schtick now?" and had to switch over and realized it was an ad. Just perfect timing.
As another person that's crazy good at guessing random numbers of things using strange context I love to see Steve pull it out. People think im a superhuman sometimes. It's really just quickly running through context and guessing in the middle of both extreme ends. Usually gets you pretty close.
The Lions just lost Aidan Hutchinson; Kevin Zeitler didn't play; Minnesota was at home, coming off of a bye; Detroit didn't show up in the first quarter. The Lions STILL won the game. I've been waiting for a game like this since 1990.
And the Vikings were without one of the best tight ends in the league and the captain of the defense that is the key to the show, both coming back soon. Both teams have reason to feel good coming out of the game. Two more huge battles coming between the two teams this season
Steve: Pats are soft...Is this a surprise given how bad we expected them to be? Sam: I don't know if it's that they are necessarily soft, they're just bad...That's the bigger problem Steve: Alright, glad we got to the bottom of that! Priceless moments like these make this show great😂👏 Followed closely by Ken Wisenhunt 100 days of preparation splits 😂
As a Steelers fan, I feel like Wilson and Fields both bring positives to the offense and we can win no matter who is in there. The defense and special teams are playing great and Naj is finding his groove.
yeah i haven't had much good to say when it comes to Russell Wilson going back to his last years in Seattle.... but his ball placement downfield was lightyears ahead of anything we've ever seen from Fields..... Russ can actually drop a catchable ball in the bucket with some arch, whereas Fields seems to just rip these flat lasers that come in hot and have no touch at all which as a Panthers fan i frustratingly saw for years from Cam Newton and he never really improved it over his entire career (which is part of why he doesn't have one anymore)
Until you're in the situation where Russ can't even move the ball into field goal range let alone get a first down lol. Btw that's half his games as a whole
It’s worth noting for the Lions at the end of the game, their kicker is actually better from over 40. The kicks he’s been shaky on are short kicks and extra points. He missed an extra point in preseason and 1 in week 3 and just sneaked in a lot of other PAT’s.
At this point we have to assume that the answer is that, well, they are THAT MUCH better than anyone they have played... which should be a bone chilling realization because this was the rougher part of their schedule.
@paulmayer8654 yuppp Mahomes isn't putting up good stats but when you have an elite defense all you need is a QB who can come through in high leverage situations... of which Mahomes is maybe the best ever at
@@paulmayer8654 Just like Brady. Play mediocre for three quarters and have a defensive keep you in it. Turn it on in the 4th so no one remembers the first three.
@@tommcdaniel9554 Philly has the worst coaching in the league, Washington has a bad defense and a gazelle at QB who could very easily not survive to the end of the season (not that i hope for that, but he already got taken out of the last game with a rib injury which is common for guys with narrow frames) Chicago has an elite defense and a QB who is getting better every week and a soft schedule coming up..... they could EASILY be ahead of both teams in a months time
colts fan for 55 years...ARichardson cannot even hold the ball correctly let alone throwing motion. Many of us long time fans are embarrased and think both Ballard and his scout team should be fired.
@@freddiesimmons1394 because he's a bum analyst who makes everything negative and refuses to appreciate greatness unless it's a rugby analysis. If Steve wants to make it big-time he needs to dump Rugby Sam.
So the Lions beat the Vikings by 2 and are therefore the greatest team of all time. The Vikings lost to the Lions by 2 therefore aren't really doing anything right.... Question: what if the Vikings make a last minute FG or had made that 2 pt conversion and then won in OT. Do talky guy's heads explode?
Where in this video did they say anything like that about the Vikings? They literally said they are for real and could've won the game if they had just a little more time. The reason they hyped the Lions is not just cause of this win but what they have been doing the last 2 Calendar years. They are 27-8 in that time along with being a couple fluke plays away from going to the Super Bowl last year. They just lost their best defensive player, had 2 O lineman playing injured including one with a torn pec, were missing another O lineman all together and playing on the road against an undefeated team coming off a bye and they still ended up winning. They deserve to be praised.
The lions have been one of the best teams for basically two calendar years. It's easier to continue believing in things than to believe something new. Also, you can outplay someone by a decent margin and still lose, so it's not that crazy
Not as soon as it's done. It takes some time to fully upload to to RU-vid. It's usually within an hour but sometimes with live streams RU-vid can get crazy and it takes like 10 hours or more.
Watson was complete ass on the feild yet his whole team torched their personal reputations defending him. But i guess baker was too cringe for them to give a shit? The browns are a shit organization. They will never be good and they made sure none of is feel bad about it.
I'm old enough to remember how both you guys picked the Texans to win. This should have been a blowout! Complete domination of CJ Stroud. The Packers took Stroud out of the game. If not for the turnovers, the Texans were completely obliterated! wow..
It's a perfectly fine conversation they had. I saw this b4 and listened with an open mind... just watch the game again or look at the box score if all you want is the stats of what happened.
@@freddiesimmons1394 first of all, not from Pittsburgh so the “homer” comment doesn’t really apply but nice try. Secondly, “freak plays”, play calling, ref calls, changes in momentum and all other outlier events happen all the time in any sport so trying to omit them from a game is a little dishonest in my opinion, especially when they are both a data company and a sports media outlet. They can basically manipulate the narrative with whatever stats they feel best fit their opinion. Thirdly, who’s to say that these people are inherently “smart”. Sure they’ve been at it for a while, but pff grades and stats don’t determine wins, wins do. So you can manipulate numbers around all you want, a win is a win even if it’s ugly. I still don’t have confidence in the Steelers this season, considering how banged up/bad the o line is, how they have too many ok qbs, and I might be able to start for their wr room but I’d much rather take a win than try to live in what could’ve been. Also is this a pff burner account? 😂
@@michaelpelchat5579 "stats dont determine wins, wins do" If you knew anything about sports stats, you'd know that wins are not the best predictor of future wins, in any major american sport. And that's what we're talking about: whats the best way to figure out whats going to happen in the future. If preceding wins were what mattered most, you wouldnt have any shows talk about the future at all. You'd just have standings and injury reports. One mistake I make a lot is to call any person who doesn't really use information past "the eye test" and useless soapbox skip bayless-style media to inform their opinions a homer. Forget that it's about being biased for a team in a way that clouds their thinking reflexively, instead of just someone who uses their baseline and unreliable heuristics to cloud their thinking. My bad on that one. But being afraid that a narrative is being manipulated instead of it just being an attempt at figuring out what information is actually useful is homer behavior. Homer simpson, at least.
@@freddiesimmons1394 you brought up some pretty interesting points and to that I do commend you. But I think some of what I was saying may not have been clear or perhaps I didn’t explain my points to the fullest extent. My issue was mostly how I felt they presented the game and at least to me, try to discredit what were some great plays from the Steelers and I did feel at times that they were sort of “trying to protect the jets” (not the best way to put it but it’s what I could come up with). Next, when I said what determines win are wins I didn’t mean a win is a predictor for the next outcome, I meant simply that a win in the win column is still a win and that stats or grades aren’t the end all be all and shouldn’t try to cloud how the game ended and don’t always predict future outcomes because of outlier events. They help, but aren’t the only factor, which at times, I find pff tries to only focus on. Also, sports media isn’t just about trying to predict future wins (sorry if this is not what you meant when arguing against your understanding of my wins determine wins), obviously they can talk about what went on during the previous games but at least from what I’ve seen, a lot of sports media talks about the stories that transpire throughout the season. After all, sports is a very human thing and I guess I was trying to emphasize that element. At least for me, sports are essentially a year long, live narrative story based on real events. Stats compliment the very human element of sports as they do give context to what actually happened in game, however, as I mentioned, cherry picking stats or potentially omitting others could potentially shape the perception of a game, which at least to me, can be dishonest. I do find it odd your distain for my criticism of the potential conflict of interest that I brought up in this situation. If we weren’t critical of the content we were consuming, then we wouldn’t have interesting conversations like these 😉.
