I played it a couple days ago and it still absolutely holds up on the 360, from the graphics to the sounds to the customization to the gameplay. It’s more fun than the current racing games. The ps2 is the console that’s outdated, sadly.
My brother recently got an emulator for this game for us to play again. It was a bittersweet moment knowing that, after almost a decade, I still can't drift for s**t😂
First it's an arcade racing of course drifting wouldn't realistic and it was made for the sole purpose of fun as you can tell I guess looking back at it it's my fav nfs because of the setting and the canyon duels etc.
Graphics are "better" but the games are worse compared to years past. Y'all's fixation on graphics are just another thing wrong with modern gaming today
Lmao, I remember the noobs crying over how unrealistic and difficult it was. It was actually a ton of fun. I liked that it kinda repelled you away from the Barriers, but it only worked if you were going at a certain speed. If you were driving slower, your car would smash the barriers a bit like magnets. That uncertainty was really fun. It required the switch of Driving style on a whim, and i really enjoyed doing that. Canyon Drifts were a hit tough to learn. But once you get a hang of it, the were a ton of fun. Really satisfying to zoom past the turns with barely any space for the car in some portions. Most people probably made the mistake of picking only Muscle Cars for drift, since they “slide around the most”. The key to Drifting in this game isn’t Steering or Handling, it’s Accelerator control. Since how OP the acceleration of Muscle cars is in this game, it requires for more sensitive Accelerator control. Also another reason why it’s always better to play racing games with joysticks (For steering and Acceleration/Braking both). I really want it to cone back, but i know it probably never will. You can’t justify too much Arcade style driving mechanisms with how realistic the graphics have become. That has made games lose a ton of charm and fun, that they had in the past.
I recently started playing Carbon and found that the Engine sounds are awesome, and I am someone who moved from replaying NFS MW like 6 to 8 times 😂. But goddamn the drift events were pain in the ass to learn in this game. Slight turn and your car just keep drifting non stop 😂😂😂

I pulled out my childhood xbox 360 and am 46% complete with the career within 5 hours. Lol. 300k credits and a maxed out Camaro SS😭. I fuckin missed this game. Update: I beat it in 2 nights
Me, when I first seen the possibility to pick FWD car for the drift events: Don't tell me that I can choose this one... Also me 2 minutes later: DAYUM BOY, THIS IS SICK AS FOCK!!!
