This is literally what I've been waiting for for years! A modest overhaul to the game without being overbearing or have tons of visual whiplash. The fact that you even made it lore-friendly with only including cars from before 2006 sold me on this. I will definitely try this out very soon.
I tried playing this for 3 days already and man, cops have no chill. They spawn everywhere. Sometimes a full roadblock drops on you out of nowhere. It's almost impossible to get to cooldown sites. And the way cops spawn corners u in a street. This is very much challenging as compared to the clean version from ea.
@@wildenboy_If u mean the vanilla version for both, its almost the same. In terms of escaping cops, Carbon is definitely most challenging for a reason that: its night mode, narrow streets, spike strips speed penalty is greater, cop spawn algorithm is quite challenging especially when you're in a street with only 1 inlet and 1 outlet.
The mod included in redux is "revamped cops". If you download revamped cops and vlted you can uninstall the cops mod and keep the redux version of the game. That way you'll get back vanilla cops. You could also tweak the cops values with vlted: change cops weight, number of cops per heat level, spawn rate, block chance etc. If you need more info just ask

@@kryzeeplays I have 2 questions about the gameplay. 1. Does the drifting only change in races? Or does it also change in the drift game modes. Cause the drifting seems very fun from the video, but I also like just drifting in the drift gamemode. 2. Do the cops know where you are when you are trying to escape? For example you've gotten away from the police and you hide in one very specific corner and the police still know where to drive. Otherwise this mod looks so sick, and I am very excited to play it! :D
I'm loving this mod so far, but there's a few things I'd mention. The cops are really annoying to deal with. The greatly increased number of roadblocks and the fact they're much heavier and can completely stop your car by running into one even at heat level 1 makes them really frustrating to deal with. A version with the regular cop settings would be very nice. Either that or a tutorial on how to reset them. The Shelby GT500 engine sound also seems to be bugged. You can only hear the supercharger and the transmission changing gears. It's almost silent otherwise. Finally, the AI when driving the Audi A3 or TT is absolutely broken. They will rocket to the front and leave everyone behind.
yup man,, I like all of these new things except the cop car physics... they won't get totalled no matter how hard you hit them,,, unless they flip upside down... only for this I dont like it,,,,,
I'm gonna be honest and say that in the past I haven't thought much of these redux packs, but this looks like a quality mod, most cars look like they fit in the game quality and aesthetic wise with a few exceptions like the Beetle, Ferrari 308, R33, F40 and Diablo, which makes it look like an authentic DLC for carbon, and in general, looks like a useful set of mods to have together. Would be really cool if we had these sort of mods together in a server one day.
I have to agree with others on the cops, they've become completely oppresive to the point that I literally get stuck in endless pursuits purely because of the constant spawning, it makes them frustrating and boring, the rest of the mod is genuinely spot on but there needs to be an option to leave out Revamped Pursuits becuase it removes a lot of fun from the game.
Agree. Was super excited for Redux, but the Cops even at Heat 1 constantly respawning adds no reward. It just adds frustration and wastes your time when you just wanna play the game and not having to have chases for 20+ min and then afterall get busted at heat 5+ anyways lol
@@iiGoku_Gaming you just need to escape for a few seconds then go to a safe spot on the map, I think they make it more exciting although an option to tone them down in future updates would be welcome I like them as they are
@@SmirnoffStalker Hiding on this game is harder than on MW. There are substantially less alternate routes and hiding spots are harder to come by. Combined with the police seemingly infinitely respawning, it's entirely up to luck whether you can outrun them fairly quick or automatically lose from dragging the pursuit on for too long to the point where it snowballs into you getting busted anyway.

I can't escape heat 1 cops with a starter car. The cops are too heavy and overly difficult for starter cars. There needs to be a separate option to allow players to tweak it to their liking or just not have the pursuit stuff at all.

Wow man! Really cool one. I wish I knew about this before. I just tried it out and I didn't see any newer video about this redux so I want to tell some about this redux I found so far. So first, it's really cool. But the cops are really hard to evade from. And you need to complete the story in order to achieve all cars because of the long but entertaining lore. And my game also crashed when I got busted. But it saved the progress while I escaped getting my car an impound strike and also paying to get out of jail. But so far, It's one of the best in the WHOLE of Need for speed reduxes.
Hey Kryzee, I'm loving redux but it's extremely hard to play the game. The AI rubberbands 1km in front of me at the start of the race and when I finally get a lead(which doesn't happen often) they just rubberband back in front. Also the pursuits are way to hard, roadblocks spawning on top of me or in front of me, like literally right in front of my car's hood, and when I go into cooldown a roadblock spawns in front of me so I reverse, then another roadblock spawns so I take a right, then a cop spawns and starts coming to me, which now means that cops spawned on every street that I could've used to escape. This happened on my 5th race, in my starter car. Please nerf the cops and the AI in the next update, it's not even about skill anymore. And I'm pretty sure you also forgot to turn off the 5 mil starting cash. This is not supposed to be hate, it's more of a suggestion/bug report.
@@robertomeier8952 There are no difficulty files, if you're talking about turning off catch-up/rubberbanding within extra options, I tried and it doesn't work
Try the cahllenge mode... the cops always rubberband to your position..... and roadblocks just spawn always in front of you even if your in cooldown Turn down cops.... if you managed to lose them they should not rubberband like they have a satelite on you.
it's a blast to play this game again with all those new stuff, but damn, need to calm down spawn rate of the barrage, i still am at the start of the game so my car isn't upgraded (i just unlock the battle against kenji) but i'm already at heat 4 cuz everytime i'm close to escape a barrage spawn right in front of me, and the next one spawn 15 second after even when i'm in cooldown, that my second police chase btw, i already counted 25 barrage (oh and don't get me started with that supercop rubberband)
This is amazing! I have been having a blast with this. The only issue is that the Audi A3 and TT are very op and hard to race against when you start a new game.
A good compilation of mods, just two things ruin it. 1) Some of the new cars are completely unbalanced if the AI are driving them. 2) The Revamped Pursuit mod, it should be optional. Most people don't like the idea of normal police cruisers weighing more than Rhino units.

I don't know how to say it... But, you somehow bring back my feeling about the game from 15 years ago.I mean, the newest "Heat" one was "good" but not great. It hasn't this vibe that I felt while playing MW and Carbon. I tought that because I was young, I had another kind of approach and thus feeling while playing. But no, I've watching this video and the last race against Darius and man, I felt the same "stress" that I've felt when playing the game for the fist time... 15 years ago ! Thanks for your work on that. Not only you bring back a game that I loved, but you also bring back all the memories that I've had 15 years ago. I'm downloading that right now, thanks mate. Thanks for this interesting mod, there's certainly some changes here that I'm rather intrigued about, but I feel the mod does need a bit of fine tuning before I could really recommend it to others. - The pursuits mod makes it overly difficult and just no fun whatsoever. If you start the game with the usual starter car, the amount of spawning police and roadblocks makes it nearly impossible to get them off of your case, and because of how frequently they show up from races now, it just sucks all the fun out compared to before. This is what I feel needs to be an optional mod for future Redux updates. - The car balancing needs some work. Particularly with the Audi cars that had originally been from Most Wanted. They seem to carry over the same amount of performance upgrades as they did in Most Wanted, meaning a fully tuned A3 or TT (despite being Tier 1) is fast enough to be on the pace (if not even FASTER) than Tier 3 vehicles. Whilst I'm ALL for Tier 1 vehicles being as fast as those two, it should be across the board rather than just the A3 and TT. - Visuals appear to be a little glitchy, mostly with light reflections. I believe this can all be improved, especially since Most Wanted Redux was such an excellent mod, but these issues I feel prevent it from being an absolute knock out of the park. Just wanted to share my insights. :)

There is still much work to do, but yeah, the idea of an official Remastered version of this and other classic NFS is cool, but EA don't understand it :(

@@chivala7189 vlted does not work for Carbon Redux. Someone wrote on reddit that it should be OGVI. But for some reason i cannot install and uninstall this mod. There are some errors.

Two glaring issues on a fresh install: 1.) Can't add any car on "My Cars". 2.) Game crashes upon selecting a starter car. Quick Race works as intended and the game runs nicely. Edit: Could it be from me removing the Revamped Police? I redid everything and now it's running okay.
Is there a way to toggled on/off the police difficulty? Or adjust their respawn time? Feels too tiredsome to lose them with the mod. Also anybody having the bug where game becoming slower and laggy after finish the race with Darius?

Great work, made me play carbon once again. But ai rubberband sometimes is too much (if they have non vanilla cars... Chevy Cobalt feels OP and unbeatable at the beginning)- lost dozen races beacuse there is always that one npc that is always 10 seconds ahead making it impossible and miracle to catch up. Police chases are fun for first few minutes, then it becomes annoying. Police cars gets magic boosts when driving beside, so they "box" instantly and i get busted. Also they feel too heavy, sometimes i get busted just by one cop that's pushing me to the wall and there is no escape. Roadblock are spawning every 20-30 seconds making it annoying. 5 cop chases: 3 busted, 2 escaped - not because they are hard, it's because they are unfair... Easy to install, doesn't crash, works on win10 (game ver 1.4). Overall: redux is a must-play if you have patience, if not, then pass. 8/10
I like this mod except 2 things: Very often it is impossible to see events on the road when driving a car. The only chance to go to event is through map, especially in Plaza district. And second it is very hard to lose cops even in heat 1. It seems that cop cars in heat 1 weight 20 ton each + they are extremely fast, it is almost impossible to escape from them. I had slow Mitshubishi Eclipse which could go barely 230 kph and it was hard, but as soon as I beat one of the bosses and got fully upgraded Dodge Challenger which can go easily 340 kph, Heat 1 cops were still after me. The only chance is to hit pursuit breakers, but even then the cops spawn so aggresively that you can't lose them
1) For what concern events on road that's how the game is, there isn't many things that happen, if you are comparing this to MW Rework 3.5 were it has been done a specific mod for that it's not a fair comparison also considering this is one year older and a totally different game. 2) I know about cops weight and I will fix this asap in the next update!
I'm a huge fan of Redux it gives a real taste to NFS Carbon, I have even played Redux 1.1 and I have played 1.2 two times till now. Cars, graphics, physics are astonishing, but I hope cops were the same, I love challenges, but I am barely able to escape from them, they just keep respawning out of nowhere, not to say that cops condition 1 are solid as stainless steel, I cannot disable them no matter how hard I hit them.
I downloaded and installed the Redux, and it's amazing. I have one issue with the pursuits tho, the civic cruisers are wayyyyyy too fast and wayyy too heavy, even on heat 1, so I was thinking on editing the script to tune down these, or even remove this mod entirely (because it's simply not fun anymore). The modder isn't responding anymore on nfsmods so I'm kinda lost in how to do this. Anyone knows a solution?

For those anyone whos game keeps crashing after they put a starter car so first remove the nfs widescreen from script file but dont remove it put it outside the game file then open the game and make a carrier(ik the mod isnt there yet but wait) then finish the tutorial everything then when ur in the safehouse save the game then quit the game then go to ur nfs carbon widescreen the white one not the blue one then go to CustomUserFilesDirectoryInGameDir set it to 0 since thats the reason why u have to make a new carrier then put it back to the script file then enjoy (quick reminders this method will make ur car glitchy so u have to buy a new car but it saves u from keep crashing) :)
there is a little problem with this pack game is literally unwinnable as muscle car because almost always one of the racers gets ahead in a lap or like half a sprint by 18 freakin seconds
not limited on muscle cars,also on tuner or exotic, its basically impossible to beat that one broken ass op cars in the first speedtrap and sprint races, shit balancing
@@lutfinest not me in the first place a random npc with good car in the first place had to leave race and join from map like 10 times just to have a CHANCE at winning the race

It's perfect! I downloaded it and I'm loving it. Haven't played it before, and I feel like playing another "underground" game. It's really nice. But... I really miss the taillight on the cars. It doesn't look that car lights are on with the taillight turned off. It's weird lol ( I know it's because of the game )
I feel like there could be some improvement with the heats. 6: keep the same as mw 7: keep the same as mw blacklist edition 8: EVERYONE shows up, undercover and non undercover 9: some custom car models show up as bounty hunters 10: 1v1 with cross and he is not able to be wrecked
Love your videos bro, I used your most wanted redux and I'm excited about this mod too! I got a question, is there any way I can remap the layout of the buttons that show on the screen? I changed the value to "2" so gamepad support shows playstation icons, however it tells me in-game to press circle to go back, when in reality circle is accept, and it's very confusing overall, any way to fix this?
I know, I learned to ignore it. Just start in the right district according to the car you chose and then start with the races who give less money. Then just follow as it would unfold.
Hey, I've got a problem. IDK why, but after I installed this mod (I was following tutorial BTW) it constantly giving me a SpeedReflect.asi error 126. And some of the cars crashing my game as soon as they try to render. Like stock Camaro SS and Skyline from bonus section. How do I fix it?

While this is an amazing overhaul, I’m having an issue that I didn’t see anybody mention in the comments so far, my career camaro ss doesn’t show any vinyls except those from specialization tab, while in arcade garage vinyls work fine. Also, why can’t I select none in specialization vinyls xd apart from that it has been a perfect experience so far :D
It's an amazing mod, but the cops are so unrealistic with this mod. When you've reached heat lvl 1 you get 19 cops after you and you cant even outrun them in your starter car. Besides that you have to ram them 5 times to take one out. Been in pursuit in the RX8 for 30 minutes just to get busted. Pls tell me there's a way to make them less op.
A day later, I managed to speedrun the entire career with no hassles. I love the mod. However, I _did_ notice something - what happened to the crew members? Sal's my favourite and I don't remember him lagging behind everyone else before. Vanilla game he's usually right by my tail but with REDUX he's slower than the last driver. But here's the catch: *_disabling his ability makes him drive like usual again._* Any attempt to make him search for alleyways and he'll drive to a crawl. Did I mess with something here?

There's some issue with the sound on the Classic version. Music skips sometimes, speeds up other times for a second and there's overall a lot of noise and clipping.
NFS Carbon Redux 2022 from my experience of the non-lite version is a *mostly* enjoyable and refreshing way to experience the game. But not quite perfect. So here is a review of sorts. Positives of the mod are things such as the general atmosphere of the game being maintained, with non-jarring textures, cars from around 2006, cleaned up HUD and expanded customisation more in the vein of older NFS games. For the most part, this "vanilla+" approach to how Redux works as a mod does well for a purist such as myself that can't stand the look of mod-vomit [current year] videos. On a clean install I have experienced no issues with the mod that couldn't be attributed to hitches inherent to running NFSC on modern hardware. That being said, there is one area of issue that I'm sure appears to be an outlier for some: the police pursuits. Compared to every other change done to the game, this one just seems haphazard and thoroughly untested. Heat 1 pursuits with 30+ police reinforcements available and roadblocks every ten seconds, plus an entire army of cars searching for you on cooldown is not fun. It honestly looks uninspired and lazy, and although I can't claim any technical expertise it does just feel like the mod author cranked up every value for false difficulty upon the player. With mention of a 2023 redux update appearing here and there throughout the comment section, I hope changes to the mod will make it a new and improved experience.

Can you make this mod for NFS MW??? like, exactly with the same customizations?? Just because I think it's bigger than Carbon, and with more content. it would look amazing, just like this one did, and I loved the work you did. If that's not possible, I want to make it clear that the mod was AMAZING.
I figured it out, I think it seems only Downtown car lot shows up and only when you take over that territory. Also pursuits as is are way too damn hard, gonna tweak the cop settings.
Man this is sweeet! Now we need a redux of Undercover! That game has so much potential. The map is needing a makeover as it is huge yet feels empty and some of the environment is poorly textured. Fast travel should be removed so it doesn't lose the point of traveling to places. Add SUVs and trucks as they fit the narrative and theme of the game. Tuning the cars excessively to the point that they don't drive realistically should toned down or at least make them harder to control for doing so. Add safehouses, drag racing, drift racing, special missions and day/night cycle as optional.
Alot of the stuff you mentioned would take forever to implement. Drag and drifting weren't in the files from what ik so those would have to be created from scratch.
