I have played franchise mode only since 21 and thought I had a good system for scouting. I am almost embarrassed how I didnt do this earlier, its ridiculously effective. With my A scouts i was done by May and eveyone was fully scouted. The "play style" and "str/weakness" first was a smh moment with how effective it is. Thanks bro, was sick of scouting.
that's all it does. now for hiring scouts, I like to check the EFF (efficiency) rating, or how quickly they can scout. these scouts are able to cut down the amount of time it takes to scout, obviously. say for potential, i've seen it range from 5 days to 12 days for just THAT player. that's a lot of extra players to be able to scout (especially goalies, because in franchise mode the AI teams will trade very well to get an *elite* potential goalie. overall doesn't matter (most are 48-52 anyway).
Great video! Do you have any videos on developing prospects? I am new to franchise and have been using the rangers so have had a great nhl team for the first 6 seasons and need to start a rebuild now. Just struggling to get the prospects nhl ready
How do people trade players for draft picks? I tried it with every NHL team and it always says that the trade cannot happen because the team would have more than max. allowed players, or more than max allowed contracts so only way i can trade is always player for player.
You have to take players back a lot of the time. You need to make sure each team is under the 50 contract max. It tells you right below the team logo and info on the trade screen
Can you please elaborate on how you said few times, that we shouldnt press any buttons in the quick links menu, that it causes some problems? What problems, is there some bugs that will crash the game or chrash the save or something like that? thanks
No, it's just if you don't press the start/menu button to "confirm assignment" of your scout and accidentally press back, you will lose all the inputs you spent time punching in and have to redo all those inputs again
@@Etanyos i think you misunderstood me. that is something different. In the video you were on the main career menu and you said, that you should never use the quick links because it creates problems. to be more specific you said that you need to go forward in time only through calendar and manualy progress there and not use the "advance day" that is in quick links because it will create problems.
Couldn’t I just sim the season, & sim the next draft, look at the results, & identify who the franchise/elite players are & approximately where they are drafted, then NOT save the sim, & then do it again a la Back to the Future to save myself the time of scouting?
Hey I got a question, after I assign all the scouts to a specific type, once the day hits they start scouting potential and comparison or something random, while your scouts once done don’t scout anybody. Thoughts on a way to fix it? It’s doesn’t impede the scouting just is annoying Also this video was massively helpful, thanks and keep up the good work!
Would the outcome of the scouting be different if you started with potential & comparison as the first one, and then scouted play style? I like trading for picks at the deadline, so it would be helpful knowing the potential of players in the draft as early as possible, but obviously won't get all of that info doing it this way until after the trade deadline has passed.
You would likely only get about 50-60% of the total potential recovered by reversing this method. The reason for this is because the scouting reports stack on top of one another. by doing this it makes the final scouting reports more efficient
i follow this exactly and when i get to june barely any players potential is fully uncovered even though i scouted everything for the top 200, don't have auto scouting on not sure what im doing wrong
You might be swapping your scouts between prospects. If you flip flop back and forth between your Scouts on prospects for report to report its less efficient and results in what you're experiencing. Make sure to assign as many of the same prospects to the same scouts as you can
QUESTION: I have been trying for years to figure out how to create or edit a draft steal…. i always run 33 expansion and first draft year is always useless so I create or edit some players. So the question is if it is possible to create a draft steal…. ”Elite med” in 4-7 round? Have managed to edit some 20 year olds to go late with ”elite/franchise low”…. and some ”Elite med” NHL ready in the second round
@dandycoxcomb5813 what you'd have to do is make them a super low rating, like 48-50 overall, then let then play another year or two in junior or overseas. Then it would all come down to luck of them developing. If you make them Franchise potential, they'll never fall past the 1st or early 2nd round
@@Etanyos as i said before i edited a 20 year old, then i noticed that the higher potential i put the later in the draft he went 🤷♂️ 81 tw center ”elite med”, 4 more in def than in offense = second round, pick 46.
@dandycoxcomb5813 ahh I see, that's really cool that they're going that late rather then ending up as a tip 5 pick. I honestly haven't tried making a drsft steal in like 5 years or so
So memorize or keep track of Bedard s system fit with line chemistry, and then look to draft a Playmaker and either a two-way forward or a power forward that are similar in line fit
How many prospects do you assign for each to Scout.. In my franchise if I choose 15 for each the play style scouting will be done approx november 16. Is it important to start the scouting From almost Day 1 in the club?
Yes, it definitely helps to start from the first day. I would say don't worry about how many prospects you scout with each scout, just worry about getting past the 200 mark with each region of Scouts
200 From each region.. you mean 200 from for example Ohl? And 200 finnish Liiga etc.. Or is it just 200 players in total from the whole player list... sorry if I ask a bit dumb. But if you have 20 scouts and scout 10 players each it amounts to 200 players.. thats my logic
Have seen you look only to the Region Familiarity and that's wrong...I always wait for the first season and get scouts who are better than the ones I currently have with C oder C - and you should not only pay attention to the region familiarity but also the evaluation abilities because those are more important... with A and B you can send scouts to regions where he has a C, D, E...at the end of the season at the latest they will have at least a B...they learn faster...I ignore the recommendations of the scouts during the draft and look for players who mainly have As and Bs and at most a C in the rating... scouting for gems is bullshit and doesn't help... it's better to take players in the top 4, top 6 for defenders and Top 6 attackers and goalies as backups or starters...that's how you get a good squad for the NHL...give them contracts immediately and let them play in the farm team...observe and if the development is more than positive, send them in the NHL...is there still room in my roster? I'm looking for free agents who are young and top...
Trying to scout macklin celebrini and it shows his league as n/a (row) and it shows no scout in that region and can’t scout him. I feel like i have scouts in all regions
So what's happened is Celebrini isn't assigned to a league. You'll have to either put him in a specific league (CHL because Canadians don't exist on the USHL leagues in this game) or scout the rest of the world (row) with your scouts
Lol, could/would never spend that kind of time trying to scout 200+ players, that's ridiculous dude. I auto scout, and once a month when the latest draft class is released I go in and look at specific players I'm interested in drafting and scout them. Takes 3 minutes.
