Victor Hedman led the way had a goal and three assists and Nikita Kucherov added a goal and two assists as the Tampa Bay Lightning rebounded to defeat the Toronto Maple Leafs 5-3 to even up their first-round playoff series 1-1.
Kuch is such a difference maker, he always puts up a good show. Every team needs a step up player like him. Let's see what he brings to the table this year.
I'm a Habs fan that's been envious of the Leafs for years. Sure you guys choked a lot. But at least there's always that element of knowing you have superstars that can win games singlehandedly. Less stressful than relying on your goaltending for a decade.
yep, thats pretty much the story of the series... but the rest of the team is doing just fine with the physical play. hope we dont see Simmonds back in there again.
Every year it’s a physical league but when leaf get physical it’s all about talent it’s bull**** leafs battled threw alot and showed heart will get them in 6-7 if it’s played fair
I heard Tampa tried to sign Perry the season they won their 2nd Cup but he chose to sign with Montreal. They also tried to sign Pavelski the season of their 1st Cup and he signed with Dallas. We know how that turned out. Pretty sure both guys were kicking tires!
There was only ONE THING the Leafs needed to change from Game 1. They needed to play disciplined and stay out of the box. YOU HAD ONE JOB, TORONTO!!! ONE JOB!
@@marilllover2177 that was such an obvious penalty, right in front of the Blind Zebra. They turned the tide of the game. It was beyond obvious they were swaying the game.
Sabres fan here.. i have not been following hockey as much as i once did.. the Leafs have not been this good offensively in at least the last 20 years i have been following the NHL. They need to step up on defense but they seem to have a very talented team
The leafs kept the puck in the lightning zone for most of period 1, but the lightning really started attacking back. Way better performance than Monday. But I have to admit, when there was the 6 on 4 in the last 3 minutes of the game, I was honestly slightly scared. It was an amazing game, both teams played some great hockey. Go Bolts! ⚡⚡⚡
@@ohgeorgee7570 lol good calls you must be blind then. They called holding calls on nothing and didnt give Tampa bay a penalty when throwing one of the leafs player into the net. Which almost took out tampas goalie.
@@peterlawrence7427 I watched both games and the replays Leafs got out played in game 2 Tampa never got started in game 1 home ice now do you even watch the games or just the highlights.

@@dnl4ever666 day reminder: I delate no more high. goto FUJIN U. where is independent mind. didn't c him commenting after Calgary lames & Toronto make me laughs lost & soon to be out in the 1st round. wtf loll lmao PERIODt.
@@nathanantone7261 They also didn’t lose a back to back game in their 2004 run. I guess the Lightning are the official masters of recovering from a loss in the playoffs.
@Andy Smith - Tampa has some great fans no doubt but often times Leafs games in Tampa are 50/50 or even more Leafs fans than Tampa fans - this time of year there's lots of Canadians in that region. One game the Leafs fans outnumbered Tampa fans so much they started sounding the goal horn and giving the dramatic announcements for Leafs goals that are usually only for the home team, lol. I'm curious to see what the crowd make-up will be.
Хэдман и Кучеров рулят. Несмотря на то что швед последний гол можно сказать что привёз. Считаю его лучшим левым защитником лиги, а Кучерова - лучшим правым крылом.
Tampa took this from the leafs tbh leafs trying to draw Tampa into the fray and it’s not their game if Tampa plays their game they’ll win this series point blank period
Leafs fans game 1: Oh yes we are winning the Stanley Cup!! Canada’s most beloved team wins again right here on Leafsnet!! - Gary Game 2: …..oh no. 🥴 - Gary
The playoffs are all about making adjustments, and Tampa has been the best at that in the past two years. Both teams have taken a jab, and now it’s the Leafs’ turn to adjust and bounce back in Game Three. The rest of this series should be fascinating.
@@user-wp9mb5yq5e 🤣🤣🤣 2 of our best games ever???? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 game 2 wasn't even close to one of our best games ever🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣, your a fu@king !diot obviously 🤣🤣🤣, the refs are cheating fu@ks as usual.... and we're winning this series! Tampa will be golfing!!!!!!
Muzzin was on the ice for 3 of the 5 goals. Simmonds killed the comeback momentum with a dumb penalty infact 2 dumb penalties that resulted in 2 goals against. The first one was just after the leafs scored and seemed to have a little positive energy going. Those 2 guys would be best to sit on the bench more.
I was at Game 1 and 2, crowd was more deflated, penalty after penalty and goals. 1 goal back and the momentum starts to swing at the end you could definitely feel it with the crowd
Tonight showed why it should be the last game Simmonds sees of this series. I get what he’s trying to do but tonight both pointless penalties ended up in our net and cost us. Yes the officials went back to normal being absolutely pathetic but regardless it didn’t help our PK gave them 3 powerplay goals. Free Spezza and if some guy who wears the captaincy would show up and actually do something would be great. Still a lot left in this series. We can do this we’re not backing down
agree 100% Simmonds is not the player he was 10 years ago and just mindless penalties, same as Clifford. neither of them should have been in the lineup from the start of the series. the rest of the team is handling the physical stuff no problem. they dont need to fight. Spezza brings way more to the table!
no, it showed why the leafs do nothing but waste a playoff spot in the east. let the other teams actually do something with it please. in other news, my leaf tears 22' collection is well on its way, get your preorders in now before they sell ou... wait who am i kidding, there is unlimited.
The Bolts were going to beat you tonight. Period. Whine all you want about this and that but I watch these guys play and I know when they are on. When they are on, they are world beaters. When they are on has become questionable but I like their chances.
@@PP-rr1gz But the cheers will be for their home team, which pumps up the players. Home ice advantage is key... and Toronto lost their advantage. They need to step up in TB or they'll be in a big ol' hole.
Way too many stupid penalties, you don’t take out personal vendettas in critical moments of games. Simmonds taking a dumbass cross checking call when we just scored to cut the lead in half killed the game
We got a series leafs have 2 win both games in Tampa but it was a great effort they seem like a totally different team we need they were in tuff will get em in Tampa back to back Blue n White 4 Life ❤️🍁 Migwech 🔥
Comments are hilarious 😆. An obvious bounce back but valiant effort from the boys to stay as best as they could on Tampas heels. Leafs are gonna have to show out in the Sunshine State.
@@brandontong759 i hate tampa because they r so good ive hated them for years but in this series im cheering for tampa like a massive fan girl because i want to see the leafs choke
You are right about the fine goal he scored but not everyone hates Perry. Many in Dallas, Montreal, and now Tampa are pulling for him, and don't forget the Ducks fans. He's someone that everyone would like on their 4th line.
Leaf fans were planing the parade route after game 1, but Tampa is a well oiled machine. I knew after game 1 where the leafs embarrassed and went tough on the lightning, that the bolts would be like a woken beast. Don’t poke the bear or this is what happens.
Кубрик Стэнли комментатор говорил что в этом сезоне у Тампы слабая реализация большинства ну вот могут значит так держать давай Тампа за 3ей чашкой!!!!!
Matthews tipping the puck to Marner when he's on his belly, leading to a goal. I love how Marner turns and points to him to acknowledge the move at 3:27.
It would have been a close or tied game if the Leafs didn't take those back-to-back penalties that allowed Tampa to go on the PP and score. Was a close game on even strength
@@chaseman12 haha fair point.. I guess I just get tired of the inconsistency with our canadian teams.. Edmonton seems to have this bad habit of gassing themselves early.. hopefully this year will be different
Let the boys play. Playoff games shouldn’t be decided on who dives for more calls. If that’s the case, Tampa will be gifted another cup. First actual one though since 2004.
Again Refs not Calling Tampas Interference away from the play. There called slew foot. and Cooper teaches his players to do this. This is 5 and a game interference.Call it.
I’m so glad these two teams played each other in the ploffs cuz I hope people see now that Tampa needs to change their jerseys/brand. It’s exactly Torontos
get Simmonds out of the lineup. he is useless and cost Toronto 2 PP goals! props to the Leafs... they never stopped playing till the end and got a couple extra goals.
yup, they practically won the cup in one period. the NHL owes you everything for your franchise's hard work, dedication and laundry list of accolades. well 0/3 aint bad i guess
Simmonds is complete trash they say hes an intimidator 😂 second leafs goal was such a lucky one ,marner literally fanned on the shot and it still went through because vasi never knew where the puck was Anyways bottom line tampa in 5
