@@Canucksnate The refs helped him dangle the entire Dallas team and score a backhander up stairs through both Dallas defenders. Im a Canucks fan too man but honestly give credit where credit is due. If the Oilers win we lost to the Cup winning team and there is no shame in that, not only that Dallas lost in 6, LA in 5 and the Canucks went 7 and lost by one goal. I just wanna see a Canadian team win a Cup already and next year is our year.👍

The penalty kill for the Oilers is what surprised me. Perfect against the Kings and the Stars, defense are great, Stuart Skinner redemption after benching, and don’t forget Kris for his calming presence.

The Oilers could have played better offensively today but screw it, they held on and got the job done. Skinner was a beast once again (though I nearly had a heart attack at the very end there) and extra style points go to that 1st McDavid goal. GG Stars, you fought well. Let's get this cup!

That was McDavid's career defining goal to date. It brought this team to the SC final. Maybe not the panache of his 'dancing 4 Rangers in 2021 goal', but still stratospheric in terms of sick skill & trickery, and the timing? That ... was ... epic!!!

The oilers showed how much depth they have and how far they have come this game, they solved their biggest weaknesses: goaltending and defensive play. Stu skinner played absolutely amazing this game and honestly the whole series. All defensmen looked solid blocking shots and taking their man and clearing pucks out, they shut down the stars. Mcdavid proved why he's the BEST player in the world. This oilers team is no joke , excited for the finals VS panthers. GO OILERS!!!

He was .928% save percentage this series. Quite a turnaround! He impressed me skinner, he stepped up for us. And 28 straight penalty kills helps a lot! Dallas didn’t get one power play goal on 20 plus attempts

This is huge for Skinner. The most important game of his career at this point and he really pulled through. I've doubted you a t times Skinner but I'm eating crow now and happily so. If his game against Florida are like this then I like our chances. Not the best 2nd and 3rd periods from the Oilers but a good 5 days off should give them some rest.

As I write this, I'm shedding tears of joy and I'm not ashamed at all to admit it. I was too young to experience the 2006 run, so this will be the first time I will ever experience the Oilers playing in the Finals. Seeing the players (especially my hockey hero Nuge) in their Western Conference Champion hats, gathering around the Clarence Campbell Bowl, there's just no words to describe how happy I am right now! This is a memory that will stay with me for the rest of my life. I love this city!! I love this team!! I couldn't be more proud to be an Oilers fan right now! From 3-9-1 to a Stanley Cup Final. Just incredible!! As for the game, Stu was incredible, and him and the defence were the key reasons behind our victory tonight. We had a little luck as well. WE'RE GOING TO FLORIDA, BABY!! 35-10 in shots on goal, but 1-2 in goals, Skinner played the game of his life tonight. I'm from Russia, and I'll be honest, I just love this team, but god, it's nerve-wracking to be an Oilers fan! I watch games at 3:00 am before work, but damn it's worth it guys)))) I can't even imagine what a tough final is in store for us. The Panthers are a very solid and stable team, and Bobrovsky is a real beast (by the way, hello to everyone who said his transfer was a failure). But I believe in the Oilers, we have something to boast about too: the McDavid-Draisaitl-Bouchard trio is the best thing that has happened to the team since Gretzky. Go go go, Oil!!!)))

Florida is a monster and this will be a tough challenge for Edmonton. I want Edmonton to win this so much. Dallas is a great team but I will admit Ottenger wasn't in his best form, while Skinner made some game winning saves, couldn't have come any sooner.

Yeah Edmonton has almost no chance! Florida plays with intent to injure. they are a dirty physical team that wins with brute force and an amazing goalie! @@justissmith1509no, Rangers' offense does not compete with Edmonton's. Just go look at the stats, the top 4 scorers in these playoffs are all Oilers, 3 of whom with a large margin. Trocheck, who was New York's top scorer, has 11 fewer points that McDavid alone. Everyone saying Florida will kill them are absolutely delusional. It will be a hard fought, 6-7 game series to the death.

Honestly, watching latest NHL games gives me goosebumps... Here's the thing... I deeply admire players like Howe, Richard, Orr, Gretzky, Lemieux and many other LEGENDS of the game, but I have the feel that this is something crazy... It is not a new level of the game, it looks like a totlally different game... That speed, finesse, puck handling, stamina... Truly the COOLEST game on Earth...

Yeah , Skinner got a lot of criticism leveled against him ( incl. from me ) after those play off exits in the recent years. Good for him to not completely cave and go mad under this extreme level of attention on him. It probably would have only been even worse , would he be on MTL or TOR in the same situation. Let's see if he can repeat this in the Finals. History says North American goalies are heavily favored when facing Euro goalies in the Finals, but history also favores US teams when facing Canadians since over 30 years now when the J took over as commissioner.

Oilers Defense def increased to a high level like no one expected, not even me couple months back. Stars had no PPG in the series, they gonna shut down Panthers PP. Defense wins games. Dallas had 35 shots and 1 goal. Oilers had 10 shots and 2 goals. Oilers getting better every game learning from their mistakes like Leon said. 💪

I feel bad Dallas lost with such a big effort, but as an American I still am happy to see a Canadian team back in the final round. That said, I still will probably root for Florida because they've had to put up with their state rival rubbing their cup wins in their face. If Edmonton wins, I won't be upset, I look forward to some good hockey!
