imagine if the stars score on that PP? Then it's 3-2 stars and the momentum is sucked out of the building. Instead Janmark scores and the Oilers were in the driver seat the rest of the game
@@tjnholmes He played well defensively for most of the season but his game has rounded out since he scored that first goal reg season. Heating up at the right time!
It’s crazy as someone that grew up watching the dead-puck era. I cannot emphasize enough how if your team was down by two, you might as well turn the TV off and just go to bed. Wild how no team seems to be able to play with the lead anymore.
As an Edmonton fan we really needed this game, glad the boys won it. More glad that some players from the bottom six made a difference. The special teams is still going strong.
@@blueleafy7167No Oettinger played fine, too many breakaways given defense not fighting enough for the puck. Dallas played poorly in defense, Oettinger did his thing and was left by himself.
I am from Germany and Hockey is not a big thing here. But I follow hockey and especially the NHL for quite a while now. The thing I love most is how fast a game can go up or down or a season or series can change in an instant. What I don't get is the comment section because you fans should be used to this. Of course you would expect some emotional guys but here it is almost black or white. According to the comments after a game player x, coach y, goalie z is either a hero or complete failure. "Coffey made them play good defense" and one game later: "the blue line is completely useless" etc., etc. A lot of you guys: calm down and realize that all these teams can play brilliant (and bad) periods/games and that the teams are very closely together regarding their quality (therefore almost every series is a battle). Therefore I like Knoblauch who keeps calm cause he knows how fast things can change.
The comments section is a place for impulsive opinions. Sports fans seem to be particularly impulsive. Admittedly, hockey is also a very impulsive sport. But it's not usually an area for well thought out statements.
You should read the comment section from German fans , when the German national ice hockey team loses a game then - boy oh boy ! Also recently a German player who plays for the Cologne Sharks had enough of the threat comments on his IG profile after he played bad. Bottom line : even in Germany your average fans are exactly like this. P.S. go Leon go ! 😁
Happy to see Perry back in the lineup, huge respect to the man who has a raised a cup, won a hart and richard trophy. Many oilers in the mcdavid draisatl era, have legendary statistics, years of building to these moments, every year a step farther. the team is thirsty for what it takes to taste that cup. Go Oilers !
As a Jets fan, I'm really impressed with the Oilers, and the great depth players they have and are coming thru for them. Also Skinner is playing very well in goal, so I think the Oilers take this series. I'm rooting for the Oilers, as a Canadian team has not won the Cup in 30 years, and the game was invented in Canada. Bring the Cup home to Canada boys.
Oilers showing you don't need to hand out 92 million and 94 million mid season to win in the playoffs and make deep runs, these big contracts can wait till success is made.
The single point game from Draisaitl does not reflect last nights performance of him. Maybe one of the best in his entire Oilers career. Dude was everywhere making offensive and defensive plays. Looked like a real Conn Smythe winner to me.
Well, this is turning out to be one hella of a tight series! And everyone said Dallas would sweep the Oilers. Love to see a fierce rivalry like this go the distance!
About 3 minutes before the penalty happened I had the thought in my head "Here comes a shorthanded goal or something to screw the Stars." and sure enough. Lol
This series is amazing hockey. Really pumps a hockey fan up..its been a while to watch teams really go at it and give their all back and forth. Stress levels up for sure but just amazing playoffs. Go Oilers! Fan for life..we needed the win and you showed everyone how much we deserve to be in the playoffs!
Wow. Wasn't expecting that after the quick 0-2 hole. From a Bruins fan in Boston, let's go Oilers. Real hockey fans deserve to see their team raise the cup🎉
The whole team is a playoff beast. Wish I could say the same for Vancouver. . But .. as USUSAL Demko, out Boeser, with problems, Petey, with his nagging injury.. Some things never change.. now GO get Cup number six
@@archimedes2261 You got thumbs up. Good to see comment with no huge bias, Tough to do If for eg you are in Edm and I for eg am in Cowgary. or Vancouver. I hate the Bruins
I love how in the regular season people don’t even put Draisaitl as top 5 in the world and as soon as the playoffs start people are like “is he better than McDavid?” 😂😂 really speaks to how motivated Drai is to win, gives me MacKinnon vibes when he’s on his game.
@maekklyn I keep watching it trying to decide if it is in or not. I think there is a chance it hits the post and bounces in, but I could definitely see it missing. Either way it got a good laugh from me.
Canuck fan here a lot of teams that have beat the canucks in the playoffs have become champs and emd is looking so good I hope they win they deserve it the fans are so hyped it's insane bring the cup home to Canada
Edmonton we are 2 Ws away from our first SCF shot in 18 years! The time is now boys, close it out in 6 & lets bring the cup back where it belongs! 🧡💙🧡💙🧡💙
He's not good. Although, I want Oilers to win just to have one of the lowest save % Goalies in history during a cup run. What a flex that would be lmao
As a Stars fan I hate this but at the same you must appreciate an excellent series like this one. 2 heavy weights going back and forth. Tighten up defense otter can’t stop em all. GG Oilers
After the Game 1, Oilers fans were going to sweep Stars. Now, glad to have it 2-2? Also, if you lose Bouchard (like Stars lost Tanev), you would appreciate the effect.
Much better game by the oilers, Leon, Yanmark, McLeod coming up big, played hard, battled hard, shutdown stars offence, especially in the 3rd. Oilers pp is crazy. 23 straight pp kills. This game was huge for Edmonton, this could easily go to 7 games. Best of 3 finish? Sounds good to me! GG oilers. 🇨🇦 on to game 5 in Dallas
I mean I wouldn’t call it “magical” especially by his standards. Pretty standard beer league play, not requiring a whole lot of smarts. But they executed it very well for sure and Bouch did well not to whiff on the quick rolling puck.
I was glad to see him take that hard shot....I think hes getting over an injury he mightve had on his wrist..so as Drai n Booch..All three havent been shooting the last few games......Drai ripped that shot past Otter for that 4th goal, and I noticed Bouchard ripped a slap shot too......That's good news for the Oilers....I expect some goals from them now.
Oilers fan from London UK watched this game late at night it worth. I can’t wait to take revenge this Dallas team used to beat us every playoffs. I just hate them so much. I enjoy watching oilers beat this Dallas team. Go oilers Go. Let’s get the next two games, and let’s go to the finals. I want to watch Rangers vs oilers.
What an amazing post-season for the NHL! The odds-on favourite to win the Cup is changing after every game, which goes to show how crazy the playoffs have been. I'm still tipping my Rangers to go all the way, but right now, every team has a finger on the Cup. Well done, Oilers. 👏👏
If you have Skinner in net You should score more than 4 goals every game to secure a win😅 astonishing how Oilers make it against so good defending team as Dallas
Absolutely incredible to see the energy both on the ice and in the building on Drai’s goal right after the shorty! So proud of this Oilers team, let’s go!!
I don't know what is going on but Sportsnet's youtube edits for NHL games have been ABYSMAL for the past few weeks. Unfathomably bad. Insane editing choices.
@Canucksnate nucks in 4 oh wait 5, my bad 6. The refs are favoring the Oilers, the Oilers are crybabies; the Oilers this; the Oilers that. Put a sock in it sonn, and bow down to Canada's team
@@G6TarantulaOilers have been to this dance and tasted the bitter drink of sound defeat before against the Avs and Knights. Theyre not lying down for anybody this year.
i'm sure no one is going to acknowledge Nurse in the short handed goal. Him moving up there took two stars out of the play and was instrumental in the goal. All the Nurse hate makes me sick...
I was ready for the Oilers to give thier fans a HEART ATTACK ending again when up... like they have all playoffs... surprised they locked it down so well.
They key was they didnt try to sit on the lead and slow down. They made sure the puck went deep, got forechecked, took tbeir opportunities. When they play like that, theyre hard for anybody to beat.
8:02 made me physically react with how sick that pass was. Flipping puck, lands perfectly flat and clears all obstacles. Panther fan here, and if I hear Stars fans blaming Otter for giving up four goals this game, I'm gonna lose my mind. He looked inhuman this game, but no one can stop every high danger chance, and the Oilers found a ton of them in those last two periods. Edit: Oilers are so beyond what I thought their skill ceiling was. I still think Florida should win in the east, but this level of skill from Edmonton might actually be impossible to beat in the finals, whether it's the Rangers or Cats.
Every year my only thought is that I hope the two most exciting teams get to the finals because Hockey is a copycat league. I don’t want the 2012 Kings. Let’s go Florida and Edmonton.
The Oilers will need Perry to keep Rempe in check, come the final series. McDavid most certainly deserves to hoist the Stanley Cup. Sorry Make Beliefs fans, as long as the NHL exists, there will be no parade.
Conference Finals are getting spicy! As a neutral fan, I'm enjoying every bit. Just wish SportsNet wouldn't post the damn scores in the description. I like to jump on here and watch the highlights if I miss the game, and seeing the result truly kills it.
