The following video is my rankings of each of the 32 goal horns used during the 2022-23 National Hockey League regular season. This is entirely based upon my opinions. You are more than welcome to disagree with me. Please leave your comments below if you agree or disagree with any particular ranking. Enjoy!
Methodology:
Goal horns were scored on a scale from 0-10 in each of the following categories. Each category is weighted accordingly:
1) Horn (x5)
2) Goal Song (x3)
3) Special Effects/Crowd Participation (x2)

The Stars goal horn is just the pure embodiment of hype. It's as if Pantera put an entire monster energy can in musical form. The horn itself is also perfect. Loud, powerful, and unstoppable. God I love this team.

When they started using that song years ago I first thought what the hell is this crap. Then they kept winning and the crowd kept going nuts and now in my mind chelsea dagger is the quintessential goal song that all other goal songs must strive to live up to.

@colebevans8939 I totally agree, it’s totally iconic and only fits in Chicago. Kind of like the Bulls intro during the Jordan Championship years which they still use now. Whenever the iconic song the Bulls use at home games is played somewhere else it just doesn’t feel the same.

Although I do agree with one thing mentioned in your countdown. The Wild need to bring back Crowd Chant. I was picked for a random survey at a recent MN Wild game. I said bring back Crowd Chant. He wrote my suggestions in the notes and then tried to tell me that the players are the one who picked to replace it with Shout by the Isley brothers. I’m having a tough time believing that, but that’s what I was told

The devils have another thing: at the end of the goal song, they play the ric flair “woo” sound the amount of times that they have scored (ex: after 4th goal, 4 “woo”s are played. The crowd gets really into it

The Germany Soccer Team of Hansa Rostock has been using it since 2001, the Basketball team from Alba Berlin used it in the early 2000's and by the way the Spanish Soccer team from FC Valencia, AS Roma from Italy also had it in their repertoire. 🙄 I've never understood why you modern Americans would use such an old worn out song.

I like that you sticked to your methodology. I agree with your top 2, but to me NYR, Boston & San Jose complete the top 5. Even if I hate the leafs I disagree with your assessment of their song, it fits their franchise and their crowd really well, but the horn itself is garbage (same generic goal horn half the league is using, St-Louis, Colorado, Tampa, etc etc). I like unique horns above everything else, this is why I like the kings, the jets, the Habs & the ducks goal horns more than you do. Eerie horns are fine too, like Carolina's one.

1 i agree with EGH that player songs lose the focus 2 if Bruins need a change, it must not be the horn ( i use it as my phone ringtone lol and Penguins horn as the alarmclock) 3 MIN, PHI, SJS should rank higher i suppose. especially Wilds. That song is so good if they decide to change, others will occupy it as soon as possible.

Also I’m a die hard flyers fan. The horn no where near long enough. Last season was even worse like 2 seconds. Slight increase this season but still not long enough. Also sometimes 5-6 second delay after we score
