@stephanea5364 he's not better than Girard on defense yet, but he's better than Girard at scoring and shooting with roughly the same ability to transport the puck through good skating. Girard is probably a little smoother and more graceful skater.

The Avalanche can literally be what their name implies in terms of coming from behind and just steamrolling (seemingly at will) sometimes but Ottawa has problems. There is too much young talent on that team for them to consistently be learning how to lose.

Marc Moser and Mark Rycroft (AKA Riker). Riker is a former NHL player. We also had Peter McNab (former great Boston Bruins player) as a color commentator, but he passed away a few to cancer a months after the Avs won the Cup in '22.

His name is Marc moser. Lots of people don’t like him because he’s a homer but that’s why most avs fans like him. He has lots of energy and enthusiasm. Color commentator is now mark rycroft who is a former player but before that it was Peter Mcnab who played for a long time and was a commentator since the avs first season up until he passed away due to cancer the year after the avs won the cup

Colorado is also one of the most injured teams in the league right now. They're just trying to get by. They're goaltending has been trash too. Impressive that they are still having this level of success with many missing pieces and horrendous goaltending.

Мда... Сколько уже упущено побед у Оттавы, ведут в счёте и проигрывают. Вратарская позиция конечно слабовата у них. Нужна стена в рамке, а её нет и судя по всему не предвидится.

да там и полевые от вратарей не отстают, лидеры обрезаются, то Жиру, то Ткачак. Корписало у них нормальный воротчег (средний по меркам НХЛ), но в команде просто нет командной дисциплины, не могут собраться в решающий момент. У Оттавы разница шайб лучше, например, чем у Вашингтона или Айлендерс, но при этом эти команды имеют на 18! очков больше чем у канадцев. У Оттавы 38% набранных очков ,а у этих 2 клубов более 50%, и они в отличие от сенаторов еще ведут борьбу за плей-офф. Т.е. по сути не хватает Оттаве чуток собранности в решающий момент, и при этом состав то у них совсем не слабый. Да чего там говорить Филадельфия уверенно в плей-офф идет с ее днищенским составом, потому что у них коуч толковый, а у сенаторов его даже физруком не назовешь - не хочется оскорблять эту уважаемую профессию!

@@Mulukkis Just under performance. We genuinely have good players, they just underperform. The defense is lacking a bit, but we have a good top 4. Goaltending however needs to be sorted out. But take my statements with a grain of salt XD I might not be an expert, Its just my observations

This is the same team that is going to pay Jake Sanderson $8M AAV starting next year. If he is such a defensive wizard, why are the Senators struggling? Wasn't a Chabot and Chychrun tandem suppose to make Ottawa a defensive powerhouse? The Senators are in the top 3 for allowing the most goals this season. I'm not surprised the Avs scored 5 straight. On their last meeting with the Sens, they scored 4 straight to win the game

Its not just defense, we have unreliable goaltending too. Korpisalo is just not living up to his paycheck and we have Forsberg who just isnt quality at all. Sogaard played okey but he needs more time to develop. Its a combination of a defense not living up to their expectation and goaltending who just never bail us out.

@@TechSyndicate83 Among 64 goalies with 10 GP, Georgiev ranks... 28th in GAA 43rd in sv% 20th in WAR 26th in GSAx/60 Leading the league in wins is mostly due to A) Leading the league in games played and B) Playing for a team that can outscore Georgiev's problems.

@Kanders190 He ranks 16th in GAA, 35th in Save Percentage. You're looking at Money Puck. Are you telling me Georgiev had a better WAR than Sorokin? Yeah okay. Only using goalies that have played at least 10 games included a bunch of goalies that are not nor have ever been starting goalies.

DEFENSE in 2023 sucked. Turnovers galore by the team. Breakaway X12 a night with multiple failures leaving two men alone at the goal. Etc. It wasn't the goaltending any more than the puck luck tonight for the Sens was on Annunen, who wants 1 back.
