A little too close for comfort but a win is a win, I loved seeing Pearson get his first goal and Monahan getting the game winner with a shorthanded goal.
just gonna drop a momtembeault appreciation comment, .933 against a team that got 7 PPs and pulled goalie at the end for a 6-on-4. if he keeps it up he'll be a star, and i have no doubts because he's just continuing from the tail-end of last year.
6:33 Announcer: “Bedards trying to get back” lol I’m not sure what game this announcer was watching but Bedard was in full coast mode watching the Canadiens pickup a short handed goal on the breakaway. Back-checking isn’t one of his strengths.
@@least.insane.femboy That's what I said, he had a very good game. But it's still only one game. We should wait AT LEAST 30 games to even mention Price as a comparaison point.
LOL the 2 worst teams in the NHL looked like an original six because 50-100 years ago the players were terrible just like the Habs of today so I guess you're spot on.
corey give us so much great memories. he stand up big time when the CH needs it, he went to war for the habs. as a (not ashole) fan I would never booo corey
Montreal will boo every single player on any team if they are talked about or made some impact in a game. It's getting into the teams and players head. It's been a strategic maneuver for years for any team. Montreal just does it better and is savage as hell.
@@habnormal7283 And we all saw how that went. One OT win away from being handily swept by the lightning. It wasn't a series, it was a drawn out cup ceremony.
Because people are whining about bedard being 'booed' 1. Its hockey 2. Its chirping you guys are getting soft. 3. We boo Matthews why cant we boo bedard? 3. We were getting into bedards head stop being so soft guys😂
@@JoeBine77 It's psych warfare from the fans against the perceived best player or a player that has a bad history with the Habs. It's pretty standard stuff really and it definitely worked on Bedard if you watched the game.
Very close at the end :/ sadly couldn't pull another comeback but need to get on the board earlier! Congrats to Johnson on two goals but the Habs were just the better team tonight
Fabulous hockey game from start to finish. Then you add in that it's the original 6, on Saturday night in Montreal. Il n'y a rien de tel que le hockey à Montréal.
6:27 Bedard's missed shot was a killer ! Those are always so dangerous at this level because those missed wrap around the boards shots spring the once in defensive zone team on a full steam ahead rush. No to overly critique the rookie but when he missed that shot, he had no awareness that he needed to back check to try and break up the breakaway goal. He needed to atleast attempt to beat Monahan there !
Bedard getting so much glazing for a secondary assist is like me getting a promotion at work for passing someone a coffee filter for the coffee machine.
They'll need a different coach to learn that, I'm afraid. St. Louis is great at getting them to believe that they're never 'out of a game'. But he's pretty awful at teaching them how to play with a lead. 😞
Came as close as you can get to blowing another one. They *do* have to learn to play with the lead. And again, I didn't see the coaching staff drawing up anything for the players on key D zone face-offs down the stretch. Just putting out the next line and saying "don't get scored on" won't cut it.
I really wanna see Taylor Hall (L) Connor Bedard (C) and Corey Perry (R) I believe with the experience and dedication those players have they could really do something great as a top line
Don't worry. They will be here soon, barking about how good their chocker team are and that they're Canada's team haha. We're gonna put them back at their place. Like always.
Listen I'm a Habs fan and I want us to do well but I don't think we'll be making it in the next 2 seasons with the moves Hughes has made. I'd love to be wrong but I can't see this team making it.
@@joydjinn8692How is Montreal gonna put the chokers in their place after blowing two multigoal leads TWICE frenchie 💀💀💀💀💀 it was 2-0 and 5-3 and managed to screw the pooch in a game they admittedly should’ve won😭😭😭🤣😂🤣
I am habs fan but i dont understand of booing on Bedard. He is a rookie and young talented player, what is the point... Instead should cheer for you rookie. Shame on habs fans.

it was a good game either way, look at it that way, it was not a habs loss but a leafs win. we played incredible against one of the top teams in the league
In my opinion Connor Bedard had better line mates on the Canadian World Junior Team than what he has with the Blackhawks right now. They were far more superior skill wise than his Chicago Blackhawks. People says he’s a bust are just jealous and forgotten how bad Montreal Canadians were when they were at the beginning of their rebuild. I feel like every team is going after Bedard because he is the best player they’ve got. I hope Connor Bedard will succeed and shut you all up. Honestly what do you people have against him? I don’t think anyone of you can do as well as him with all the scrutiny that he has been living through. He’s very young and he will find his way!
What a Hockey game! Back and forth all night at top speed, both goaltenders playing great. This was my first chance to see Bedard play and he didn't disappoint! He is going to be a great player! But I was really impressed with the Canadiens! The whole team played great! Arber Xhekaj played a fabulous game anchoring the Canadiens blueline! He has improved immensely! But it was a total team effort that earned the win against a pretty good looking Blackhawk team! Also, 🥂🥂 to the refs! They called a good game! 👍👏 my opinion 🦂
Can someone please tell marty st louis to stop putting savard on the 1st pairing or at least keep him of the penalty kill.. i don't understand how in film session they cant c how bad he is. I cant watch him play anymore!!!
“Connor Bedard” that names going to be known for many many years!!! love the kid seen him with rollerblades and a stick 3/4 years ago in mid summer he was grinding!!
Hey Montréal leave Connor Bedard alone. I am a Habs fan from the 70s on and this is not how my home town treats rising stars. Grandissez les clounes. Eric
Nick Suzuki and the Montreal Canadiens wins the first game at home by defeating Nick Foligno and the Chicago Blackhawks 🏒🔴🔵⚪🇨🇦 Montreal Canadiens went up to 1-0-1, while the Chicago Blackhawks dropped to 1-2-0
You gotta give it the Hawks for keeping that pace and effort. That eas CLOSE ! Jones rang iron on that one timer and the got a couple more blasts of in the last few seconds....even though it was 6 on 4
The Hawks really don’t quit, nor did they last year. Kudos to Luke Richardson and the team. Bedard is going to have to put the puck in the net if they want to win these type of games though. They really lack scorers.
I feel that the Chi Blackhawks goal to get within one and attempting to get the tying goal afterwards was never too late since no third period lead is safe anymore.
Badard is so bad, hes too greedy and ruining powerplays etc. Sad, hw should play in line 3 or 4. He maybe was good in kids league but now hes almost worthless
Chicago better get a bigger bag of tricks. The pass until Bedard gets open is already tiresome to watch. They'll burn him out. Hes obviously a great player but good god. Hes 18. Let him grow into the game at this level.
