This performance? Even in the Caps losses, he's been phenomenal. He's the sole reason this team is in the mix right now. I think the Caps will hold onto him, but I gotta wonder what MacLellan could deal him away for after this season. He could be a starter for someone next year on a tiny contract. That's first-round pick-plus material.

This years eastern conference playoff race down the stretch is just nuts.. I don’t recall ever doing this much scoreboard watching of so many teams this close to the end. From those who seem to have cheated death, to those who seem hell bent on suicide (OLA PHI) it sure hasn’t been dull.

Yeah, in games that mattered, Detroit fails to play a complete team game. It's either the offense is not aggressive enough or they play sloppy, or the defense doesn't show up and the goalie allows easy shots. Redwings aren't ready for the playoffs. Grats though Cap's fans your goalie was lights out.

After all those losses in March where there was no effort, Detroit plays arguably their most dominant game of the season and still come up short because of a few bad minutes at the end of the 2nd. Couldn't have happened to a more choke worthy team to likely end their season. One of the most devastating losses I've seen from them in over 20 years of watching.

Those were the games that will ultimately cost them.

Debrincat needs to step up when it matters, I don't care about 10 goals in October, I care about 10 goals in April. Also, Lalonde just isn't a winning coach, he has the roster to make the playoffs but his team doesn't seem to execute when it matters. Bruce Cassiday, John Cooper, Chief, those guys make their teams better than what they are capable of whereas Lalonde's team is not as good as it is on paper and that's on the coach.

@@jkliao6486 2015 and 2016 were some bad years for Ovi. He was heavily into partying and generally miss behaving in all aspects of his life then. It's a wonder he did as well as he did, considering his behavior on and off the ice. He definitely turned things around with his attitude and life tho after that.

Обидное поражение "крыльев". Детройт всю игру смотрелся лучше, активно атаковал, создавал опасные моменты, но не повезло. Вашингтон отбивался и пытался контратаковать. Обе шайбы пришли за счет хороших бросков Строума и Овечкина, т.е. за счет индивидуальных скилов, ну и вратарь Детройта не потащил в тех моментах, в отличие от Линдгрена, который не раз выручал "столичных". А так по игре Детройт больше заслуживал 2-х очков. Не повезло. Теперь решающей становится следующая игра с Питтсбургом, в случае поражения Детройт фактически теряет шансы на попадание в плей-офф. В отличие от довольно вялого и блеклого Вашингтона, Питтсбург сейчас в огне, так что добыть 2 очка "крыльям" будет гораздо сложнее.

Other Wings fans assured me this was a playoff team for weeks and weeks. Then, they swore it was the coaches fault, despite that coach indicating in December this wasn’t a playoff team yet. And now I’m sure something other than roster construction will be the excuse. The team is older than people want to admit, too raw and too unskilled to play actual successful hockey. Lalonde told yall this and you hated him for it.

Detroit is probably years away from making a legit run. They are almost built like a team trying to stay relevant. Should have given more youth a chance. Like you said this is not as young of a team as people claim.

Линдгрен исправно дотащил вашиков до победы. А вот Крылышкам нужен нормальный кипер, а не этот с али экспресс, обе шайбы с ближний угол, он тупо потерял ворота. Шурик ещё на один шаг ближе к Грецкому- хорошая новость.

Так Лайон запасной. Основной кипер - Хуссо давно травмирован. А для бэкапа Лайон нормальный воротчик, уж точно не хуже Кюмпера из "кэпиталз", а разница в зарплате между ними просто астрономическая - Кюмперу в Вашингтоне насыпали по 5,25 млн. на 5 лет, а Лайона Детройт подписал на 2 года по 900 тысяч. Как говорится, почувствуйте разницу. Айзерман вряд ли будет дергаться и подписывать/выменивать более сильного и дорогого кипера летом, ибо пара Хуссо-Лайон пока вполне играбельная. Детройт будет ждать пока до основы созреют 2 перспективных проспекта - Косса (15 номер драфта 2021 года) и Огастин (взятый во втором раунде на прошлогоднем драфте). Причем, судя по всему, более талантлив именно Огастин. Айзерману больше внимания надо уделять цементированию обороны - нужен надежный защитник (все-таки Шиарот, Питри, Мяята - это не самые крутые защитники), ну и в атаку нужно добавлять таланта - подписание/обмен игрока уровня Нюландера, Генцела, Капризова или Драйзайтля сразу бы вывело атаку "крыльев" на новый уровень. Уверен, что если будет такая возможность, то Айзерман ею воспользуется и подпишет такого игрока. А из проспектов своей системы пока не видно талантов уровня Джека Хьюза и Бедарда. Значит надо искать варианты на рынке обменов и свободных агентов. В идеале хотелось бы в Детройте видеть Капризова и Петтерссона из Ванкувера. Но Петтерссон после подписания нового контракта с Ванкувером будет стоить очень дорого, а вот за Капризова можно будет через год побороться, у него по контракту осталось еще 2 года в Миннесоте, и при сохранении нынешней ситуации в Миннесоте, Капризов через год вполне вероятно попытается сменить команду и тогда менеджменту не останется, как искать варианты обмена.

I sat for a while and looked at the schedule in the east. I took 6 teams from the islanders to the devils with a reserve. If the Caps score 6 points in the remaining four games, then the playoffs are more than possible. But you need seven, that's with a reserve. Although, I think that Washington is now focused on an eternal record, and the rest is secondary.

У Детройта остаются все шансы. И Лайон был неплох. Ему уже второй сезон сезон подряд выпадает нелегкая миссия тащить команду в плей-офф. Флориду в прошлом году затащил (а потом уже усилиями Бобровского, в частности, они дошли аж до финала)

I mean, it really feels like a choke in all fairness. The Wings hit at least 3-4 posts, got bodied by a white hot goaltender when it did hit the net, and still only lost by 1 goal. I bet the "deserve to win"'-o-meter puts this game at 80%+ odds in our favor to win this game out of 1000 tries. There is still room to grow, and I understand that this team will look wildly different 1-2 years from now, but at some point there has to be a time when this team can put away the games they should be putting away. It's just frustrating that that time is not yet now.

Убогий матч от обеих команд. Никакой мысли и техники. Весь матч лишь бы пустить шайбу вдоль борта, авось кто-то подберет и что-то сможет сделать. Ови молодец, использовал свой момент. От остального просмотра клонит в сон.

Детройт играл весь матч лучше, и моментов создал достаточно. Но либо подводила реализация, либо Линдгрен тащил. 2 очка Детройт по игре заслужил больше, чем Вашингтон, но не свезло. Строум и Овечкин свои моменты забили, а нападающие "крыльев" (и Ларкин, и Кейн, и Дебринкет, и Копп имели такие же хорошие моменты, как Строум и Овечкин) нет, отсюда и печальный для "ред вингз" результат, который теперь сильно усложнил задачу попасть в плей-офф.

Проф спорт конечно это не про здоровье , смотрю на "седого дедушку" Ови и охреневаю мужчине то всего 38 !!! не зная кто он подумаешь бухал лет 50 а он спортом активно занимался !
