Sean Monahan scored the game-winner in the dying minutes of the third after blowing a three-goal lead and Nick Suzuki and Cole Caufield adding a goal and an assist each as the Montreal Canadiens outlasted the New York Islanders 4-3.

Everyone played well, except Gallagher, and unfortunately poor Xhekaj didnt have a good game, again. He took 2 penalties i think, and he had a couple bad give aways. They need to tell Xhekaj to just do what got him here. Dont try to change his game, let the kid do what he does!! I hope he has a good game next game, like to see him get a couple goals, and maybe make some nice defensive moves. Im rooting for the guy, u gotta love him.
For the way he gets moved around he still contributes more to the team than suzuki. Suzuki stays locked in on top line and finally scored a goal for the first time in almost half a season😂

@@cartierbresson4735 would love to see Roy coach the Leafs, and get a little of that fire in the dressing room. I think the Islanders are gonna be doing great this year.
I thought for sure with the way the Habs have been playing of late, that they were going to lose this game. But credit to the team! They knew how important this game was and they found a way to get it done.
Montembeault with 40+ saves in tonight's match. Savard playing very well on the ice. Xhekaj had a rough couple of games needs to stop taking penalties or will he be sent back to the AHL. Despite the 5 min PK, Montreal played a good match. And yes, I know what happened with the situation with Gallagher which doesn't need more explanation since Habs Twitter has been filled with tweets about him. Habs take on the Penguins on Saturday at PPG Paints Arena. Nice ovation for Pat Roy, the last goaltender that led the storied club to their 23rd and 24th league championship.
I can believe they didn't show the 5:00 major penalty that lead to the last 2 islander goals (and why the players were skating to their bench with their elbows out rather then fist bumping)
Yeah...one thing they need to stop doing is playing in their own zone as if they're in the opponent's zone. You get a chance to clear the puck, you clear it. Game-winning goal was given up this way, and one other goal. Leafs did the same vs. the Panthers in the playoffs so many times it became laughable.
Weird that SportsNet hasn’t posted the video of the hit separately like they usually do for bad hits like that. And didn’t even include it in these highlights. What’s up with that?
Gally definitely getting suspended!! Horrible hit.., the rest of the game was super exciting,, Welcome back Patrick Roy, good to see him back in the show!
Speaking as a Habs fan here. Gally's hit on Adam was absolutely disgusting. I'm very disappointed that one of our guy, ESSPECIALLY a veteran that is supposed to lead by example, did something like this. I hope Adam will be alright. As for Gallagher, he should get suspended for this. Unfortunately, the League is pretty soft when it come to hit like this...
absolutely, in fact Gallagher shouldn't even be playing anymore, he should retired or LTIR for the rest of his contract. he's done his share when scored the big goal in game 7 against the Maple Queefs & ELEMINATED the pathetic Make Me LAUGHS. thats already a good record & 1 more career game 7 goal when compared to the 13.5m STAR POWER choketthews who has NONE
@@HABSfuCorrineeLeeMFfangirl5791 Yeah, he got the habs in big trouble as well with that major. If he going to compromise the team AND injure other players, then he shouldn't be playing at all.
Isles looked awful, especially in the first period, defensive breakdowns left and right. Coach Roy has his work cut out for him. Congrats on the win Habs.
Montréal hockey fans are good. À 4--3 les islanders ont touché le poteau. Me hubiera gustado ir en prolongation. J' aime tous les équipes canadiennes. Go canuks, go jets, go oilers, go leafs.Bonne chance à Patrick Roy.
For the record most die hard Habs fans don’t like Roy, he was the one that wanted out of Montreal, he made the mistake saying that I front of all the fans he was trying to make a fool out of the ownership.
@@Ron-Swansonfor the record you don’t know what you’re talking about. Roy was right to leave. He gave management a choice. Get rid of Montreal’s worst coach ever or get rid of me
@@Ron-Swanson he did say that in the heat of the moment. He gave the team an option. Get rid of the loser or get rid of the winner. They chose to get rid of the winner and he went on winning with a team that enjoys winning

You have a 6'3" defense who gonna make a pass and watch his pass, and the guy who is 5'9", 6 INCHES shorter gets shoulder contact, NOT ELBOW, on the one who is obviously crouched down and not keeping his head up.
I keep hearing non stop about trading Monahan !!! Why ??? He is only 28 and likes playing for Montreal.. He is exactly what Habs need alongside the youngsters in their "rebuild" expedition Trade Gallagher (if any takers ) Savard Anderson Allen
Nice comeback after a horrendous 1st. Too bad Engvall let everyone down there at the end. Team playing way better under Roy. Just hasn't translated to wins yet.
Gallagher boneheaded headshot at that unnecessary junkture of the game almost cost the Habs the game ...what was that ?? Bad blood history b/w his and Pelech ?? He gonna get at least 4 games
gg but i hope they dont play gally next game Actually i want him to be injury for rest of season all he does he takes dumb penalties especially late in third period

Darn almost always when Montreal wins, they go up for a few then fold and give up the lead, then maybe win maybe lose. They have no dominance unfortunately lol.
