The Toronto Maple Leafs took on the San Jose Sharks at Scotiabank Arena where the Maple Leafs capped off a 3-1 win with winger Mitch Marner tying the Maple Leafs' all-time point streak with 18 games.
I felt it already last season that he's the best Toronto forward, but most everyone else went gaga on individual goal totals and didn't look who really drove that line
@@neilhoddinott Lol never ceases to amaze me the caravan of clowns that roll in on any Leafs victory. Take a good sniff, old dog. You denying Marner is anything less than an elite player is a condition of your tired, worm eaten brain. Keep on rocking though.
I'm in my 20s, so I've never actually seen steady goaltending you can be confident in more than the freddy/Mac tandem a few years ago. It's amazing to see how well Murray and Sammy are doing
I’m in Raleigh and the Canes have night off, so I watched the Leafs game (ESPN+ carries Sportsnet, so we can enjoy watching Canada’s Team all the way down here). Seriously, the Leafs are a lot of fun to watch and they’re my second favorite team. I’m rooting for Marner to keep his streak going. Well, I’m just chiming here in with my two cents and a “well done lads”.
@@jamiesmith81b4u I used the term tongue-in-cheek: Ergo the “Seriously” my friend. The Atlanta Braves call theirselves “America’s team” in baseball. Same with the Dallas Cowboys in NFL football. I chuckle when I hear those. Peace.
@@TMBpk The GTA doesn't represent Canada, most of Canada hates Toronto and most people living in Toronto have no Canadian values or even watch 'Canada's team' lol.
@@dnl4ever666 you seem mad man I don't live out west but I've watched my team win the cup 3 times and I'm 31. This year I had a good time again getting drunk watching my team win lol
Great for Marner. And I love the sweaters they wore tonight. Should be their every day regular season sweaters. Pure old school. Beautiful And GO LEAFS GO!!
what are you talking about? they have multiple jerseys... each team probably has 5-6 different jerseys. the ones they wore tonight was the first time they have worn them.
@@RedroomStudios lmao…they wore these jerseys already….they are the reverse retro jerseys….this is the last time they will wear them thought and the salming patch are being retired after tonight
@@niagarajoe4402 yes, I realized after making that comment that they had worn them at least once before. but the point is that this person made it sound like they were the regular jerseys that they wear all the time. how can you say every team looks better this year when they still wear their standard jerseys like 90% of the time?
Love watching the team this year. Entertaining hockey and some real proud/emotional moments with Salming and love he had for our country and the love we had for him in turn. Despite all the bs around this team in the media and the internet, hockey is still such a catalyst for showing the good in Canadians and bringing together people who love this game across the wider world. Let’s keep that going. It cannot be honoured enough.
I delate no more high. PK X+ Orange goto FUKIN U with KOODA 🖕🖕🖕🖕🖕 your pathetic disgusting disgraceful 55 years no cup Toronto make me laughs sux 🤣🤣🤣😂😭🤣 have your LAST SUPPER with KOODA 🖕🖕🖕🖕🖕
Nice boys keep the streak going. I'm a brand new fan this year. I started watching to have something to relate to my grandma about. Keep the Christmas spirit going.
It’s nice to see Holl playing well. He was a huge liability at the beginning of the season but the past couple weeks he’s been steady and smart. Hopefully he keeps it going.
Adam, what caused you to make that comment? he has 2 goals and 3 assists in 12 games and both goals came in one game. he is a pretty fast skater and he can handle the puck well but he's too small and isnt doing anything to impact the game aside from the 2 goal performance.
@@niagarajoe4402 there are some exceptional small players yes, but Nick Robertson isnt one of them. again, please point out where he has shown his greatness...
David. F-. Kampf. Great play to maintain possession and a terrific shot for a rebound by Kerfoot. He's been so snakebitten and I hope tonight helps. L.F.G. Keep it up, boys.
the Sharks seemed to be playing a pretty tight checking, aggressive defensive game... I was surprised at the shot total against them. nice job pulling out the win in the 3rd!
Dell did his best. It was an evenly played game until the third where Toronto definitely took over. Was only a matter of time before they took the lead.
Can anyone tell me why they put the score in the title of these? The score isn't going to attract more views unless it's a 17 goal game, or something. It only spoils the games for everyone who hasn't seen them. Seriously, it makes no sense to me at all. What am I missing?
Would like to see the Leafs play with that speed in the playoffs. Good for Marner that he got his record. He might get injured playing this style & with this intensity. Maybe the coaches will encourage him - to play the long game & target to peak his performance in the playoffs. This is exciting & entertaining. If things do not work out for Leafs in the long term - they do enjoy these individual records and players really are a bunch of good guys. Go Leafs Go!
and the 3rd and 4th string D get a lot of the credit too. they are moving the puck well and havent seen as much of the running around like chickens with their heads cut off in their own zone this past month.
Hot Take: I wish San Jose would make the black and teal jersey their primary and keep the white and teal as their away like they do now. I like the solid teal and white jersey but to me the black jersey looks so much cleaner.
I really like that they went to matching teal pants for the normal home and away jerseys. looks so much better than the old black pants. I just wish the jerseys had a bit more gold in them other than just on the shark logo.
Marner plays hockey like Larry bird played basketball, excellent rink awareness, uses body position and his stick to win the 50/50 battles for pucks, very clever hockey player. Early Patrick Kaneish
@@harellzi actually tonight was the last night for the Salming patch….and tonight was the last night for the reverse retro jerseys as well….they said it on the broadcast
the advertising industry is the biggest joke in the world. I have literally never bought anything from seeing an ad in my adult life. if anything I would avoid buying stuff I see in ads. especially ads for cars that say they are the most popular car in Canada. to me that means they already have enough business so I will give my business to a less popular car. I cant wait to see the next generation of ads that is even more in your face and invasive.
@@niagarajoe4402 Well the sharks do not have #1 goalie out of the 3 in the first place. I wish the Sharks could have a 6 goalie rotation and I am 100% serious. When you have no true #1 guy for the spot it is all the more reason to have many play hoping to hit something. The Leafs have had that same type of problem.
@@DanRaidersWarriorsSharksGiants the sharks are going to be sellers at the deadline….so having a true first string doesn’t matter right now……karlson will be gone, Meier likely gone….so just look forward to about 5-6 years more of being in the bottom 5 of the league, and hopefully the draft picks you guys get for selling this year pay off, and maybe you’ll get a #1 goalie that way! Ps. How the hell did you pick those 4 teams to cheer for!? Throwing a dart at a dart board!?
@@niagarajoe4402 It does not matter now but trying for one next season does. Having a 6 goalie rotation you can try to find him and get lucky. With the current 3 none of them are or show the potential to be. I would love for the team to trade karl and meier for top dollar in draft picks or the best ahl prospects. The sharks have not been in the bottom 5 at all sadly except for 1 year when the Sens got the pick. It does not look like the team will get it this year either sadly. You seriously asking me that about the teams? Do you have no concept about how close those teams are to to same geographic area?
Matt Maury is the luckiest goalie in the world. He won 2 Stanley Cup in his first 2 seasons in the NHL. So his stock sky rocketed and got a big money but his overall stats and individual goalie stats shows he's not a great goalie. He's really a 1a-1b goalie and has barely played last year and this season but still gets paid good.
This wasn't a very exciting game . I found it difficult to see the referee's calling three penalty's on San Jose and neither penalty on Toronto . Come on NHL we're starting to catch on here . Every night Toronto will get more power plays than their opponent . This is pitiful .
All this tape to tape passes and control exits will be all out the window when Rielly, Brodie and Muzz are back and most leaf fans will be on the golf course in no time. Reilly on the first pair = Early playoff exit. Sandin PP1, OT and never keep Sandin away from Mathews. But I know Babcock and Keefe that won't put up with these D pairings. Right now Holl is the weakest link in the D chain.
