Excellent Sportsmanship Bud from a Leafs fan. You have a lot more class than most of those other Isles fans who are very rude and ignorant. I give you credit for that. Congratulations! Great game tonight and best of luck the rest of the season
Ya I thought it was horrible when the fans booed him every time Tavares had the puck.. But when he got his second point in the game that reached him to his 1000 career pts the crowd was 50-50 clapping and booing.. It's nice to see that u were happy for Tavares being an Islanders fan that shows integrity to the game & players unequivocally..
Leafs best chance was when Tavares went out 1st round against Montreal! Leafs were smoking them when he went down! Montreal went to the final that year!
Did you catch #24 out there? That's on Lambert. I can't count how many times opposing goals scored happen with Mayfield looking at the net within a couple of feet. The top pair needs to be out there. Dobson and Romanov.
why national anthems at every game? always looks a cringe fest which naughty kids are made to take part in. when its a USA vs Canada match with 2 anthems tbh it looks "forced" no disrespect intended btw
Islanders blow a multi goal lead for the 9th time in 27 games but recovered for their second straight OT win!! Noah Dobson has 27 points in 27 games this year. Guy is definitely becoming a great defenseman!! And Bo Horvat has been worth every penny of his contract so far.
Sammy played pretty solid. I'm happy with his performance. The problem is the Leafs D is BAD, every regulation goal. Gratz to JT! Sammy keep it going bud. GO BUDS GO.
Classic Leafs move for a team member to have a highlight moment and the team lose. Austen’s 4 point debut, Marner’s franchise record setting point streak game and now Tavares 1000th point. Classic
Im so happy for JT. To get his 1000th point in NY on the dads trip is special. Shame the Leafs didn't win it in OT. Lets get that W tomorrow against the Rangers.
Domi ....13.8 shots per game in Montreal.....2.9 in Toronto.....17.22 time on ice per game Montreal....12.51 in Toronto......1 goal....trade deadline is looming new horizons perhaps?????
Leafs still on pace to set the OT/SO single season record but they came away with a point and Tavares reaches a mighty milestone. I'll take it. Hope they pull up well for the Rangers tomorrow.
It's always Matthew's and Nylander fighting to be #1. They both want center stage. Willy takes ALOT of shots that he shouldn't, especially when there's somebody open, just to try to stack his stats for his new contract
Sammy needs more time to recondition, he's not himself, on the last goal he waited way to long to push over and during his push over he didn't push hard enough which made him have to give another push which therefore made it so he was too slow to get over there to stop what was an easy save
Honestly, that's the only goal I really can't blame him for. He's definitely not himself. He's been extremely shakey the past 2 games. Out of position, no idea where the puck is, etc. I love Sammy and I seriously hope he figures out whatever it is that's causing this with him.
I don't mind Taveras like some but blowing late leads is getting very annoying for this fanbase regardless of who's scoring. But it's nice to see the Isles winning games against the better teams in the league and the Leafs are certainly among those.
@veritasinvicta8128 trust me, I know a thing or two about blown leads as a leafs fan. You guys have an underrated team, good luck the rest of the season
The Islanders have taken their habit of blowing leads to a new level by allowing a goal with 6 seconds left giving a milestone assist/point their former captain at home. That's like alowing your ex-wife to have her wedding reception with her new hubby at your house while you watch and serve drinks.
Only if you're coming out with a 12-gauge as they're sipping their drinks. And pulling the trigger full frontal on both as the buckshot does its job. The former cap didn't look too happy at the end. Speaking of habits, the Leafs have taken their habit of losing milestone games for their players to a new low by losing for their boy.

Could he have been better? Sure. But was he bad? I thought he was fine. I would've liked to see him stop the 3rd one. I do understand what you're saying though. He always looks off balance and about to lose position in the net.
Islanders 3 goal was a blown icing call 100%. I was a bit surprised Leafs didn't challenge for the missed stoppage. It was a close enough play I can understand the linesman getting it wrong but Timmins is most definitely the first player to the hashmarks. Leafs probably should have recovered from that but it's still a blown call. Exciting game to watch. Strong effort for both teams.
That OT goal looked strange to me. i think he should have at least come close to having it but what do I know and nobody else is saying anything about it. I know he gets depressed. Can't the team find a decent therapist? Therapists are like everything. The mainstream is worse than useless. Gotta keep searching until you find a good one. Which is why I say "doesn't the team know a good one?"
He's been shaky the last 2 games. Yes he's made some good saves but a couple in this game he should have had. The only reason he got the shutout was because everybody actually helped on defense. I love Sammy but he hasn't looked great. With OT, Reilly should have gone down sooner to stop the pass but there was very little Sammy could do. It was a 50/50 chance regardless of how well or poorly he was playing. That's probably the only goal that I don't feel was his fault
Leafs need make bertuzzi a healthy scratch or at the very least move him to the 4 line where he would best be suited. Oh and the should definitely make Keefe a healthy scratch while there at it.
What? Bertuzzi has been one of the best leafs for the past month. Hes a beast on the forecheck, along the boards and he creates alot of turnovers. He also creates alot of open ice for his linemates.
I'm not sure why Bruins and Wings fans were hyping him up so much. He hasn't been an agitatior, he hasn't been tough, he hasn't even been a consistent goal scorer.
@@Outta-hz1ej people hating on his defensive play but the last I checked (a couple weeks ago) he was 2nd among all forwards in + - only behind Jarnkrok.
Butterfly over used. Some of these plays with goalies being over 6' can be easily stopped. That ot goal could have landed on the goalies chest. Any way, Johnny TO gets his big due, and it was a great game.
Tavares got 1k against the Islanders, we move Thats all we'll remember about this game, just like we remember Austons 4 goal debut against Ottawa despite also losing that game
Wonder how many assist Nylander has on Mattews goals. Mattews are pure goal scorer but Nylander make things happens for everybody thats how you bacame mvp. Its very exciting watching Willie
Since Tavares has left like over 5 years ago most of the Islanders who were on that 2018 team have also gone yet they do not get booed the way John does. Seems silly to me..
@@fearlessleader8623 The fact it's been how many years, and you're still sulking over it? Although I do believe it probably could of been handled in a better way, people need to realize it's a business and it's his job. Time to get over it already. Move on
@@jeffreycairns767 who is sulking? Isles have had more success since his leaving than the leafs have..booing tavares has just become a tradition like the josh bailey song..sounds like you may be sulking
@@fearlessleader8623 I'm not the one booing a player for leaving. The fact you say it's a "tradition", and actually treat it as such, show the intelligence level of Isles fans. Well, Americans in general
Since most of Tavares points came on the Island, tonight was appropriate for Tavares. But it was also appropriate the Isles ruined the party. The hockey gods got it right tonight. Balance.
Although it was a battle we are starting to see glimpse's of the leafs team coming together. All the pieces are slowly coming together. Hopefully we can get that missing piece for the defence soon but otherwise great game on both sides. Congrats Tavares!
Bo Horvat and the New York Islanders wins in overtime against John Tavares and the Toronto Maple Leafs 🏒🔵🟠⚪🗽 New York Islanders went up to 13-7-7, while the Toronto Maple Leafs dropped to 14-6-5
Thank goodness I was able to watch MSG and not Leafsnet. The legendary Butch Goring offered an honest critique of the Leafs...He said they don't play with any energy, And I agree..where's the snot in the line up..where is the physicality. And it don't get any easier as they face the Rangers without their number one goalie.
@@swavekbu4959Why? Do you think fans have a say in the matter? Do you drop your team because they did something you don't agree with? You watch the games, you enjoy them and you hope for the best. It's the same as any fanbase
No, I'm just saying someone like Butch can actually see the Leafs' problems better than the Leafs themselves. Outsiders can always see more. @@jeffreycairns767
@@jeffreycairns767 You do realize the Leafs are two-thirds owned by the media. Rogers a.k.a.Leafs Net give you a less than honest presentation of NHL hockey. Rogers has lost its shirt carrying the Leafs long term, giving the fan base false dreams and false hopes. Its been widely reported that if the Blue jays had signed that Japanese superstar, Rogers was ready to dump the Leafs to minor programming.
@@saywhat6704 You don't think we know how the media portrays the team? We don't listen to that crap. Fans cheer for their team because they're a fan of the team, not because the media says anything. Nobody is dropping the Leafs. I guarantee the Leafs bring in more money then the Jay's do, even if they had signed Otahni, which was NEVER going to happen but the media played it off like the Jay's were his #1 choice. That's what the media does. They bs about things to get more people interested. They hype things up for absolutely no reason. It's actually disgusting
Ofcourse they do but how are they going to get 1? I love Gio and can't wait for him to get back but Brodie hasn't been doing well this year. Almost every game this year Brodie has cost them atleast 1 goal against.
Im not a fan of samsonov, dudes always out of position and his decision making isnt that great. Only thing holding the leafs back this year is a goalie
Does anyone hit and pin the player anymore and have second guy get puck because there is only stick checks I see in most nhl games anymore 😢looks like a pick up game
These commentators are always mispronouncing names. I watched a knights game when a commentator kept calling Logan Thompson Tage Thompson 😂😂😂😂 Deal with it
Classic leafs, lose a lead, come back to tie in final minutes, blow chunks in OT. Horrible game for Marner, 2 goals were directly his fault, dunno what the hell he was doing going behind the Isle's net in OT but it sure cost the team...
Congrats to JT for getting kilo in a place that matters but the leafs emptying the bench to cellar his individual milestone when it’s 3-3 going into OT says everything about where this team’s head is at. All about the shiny and nothing about the basics
Stop being a Leafs fan. Your day, life is much better. It's been 4 years since I said f this. I still tune in some games but I remember when those games upsetted half my day . Leafs suck... Period
