Mitch Marner recorded his first career four-goal game and Michael Bunting had a goal and four assists as the Toronto Maple Leafs defeated the Detroit Red Wings 10-7 in a barn burner.
@@poejavelski148 I disagree. Because Winnipeg scored their ninth goal with just over a minute left in regulation to win 9-8. This was a three goal game.
As a Leafs fan, i'm not that mad either. 17 goals! ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED!?!?! They should showcase this game to anyone who has never seen a hockey game, it was thriling in its own way. Who needs goaltending when you can just score a billion times?
@@Anonymouse85 You've got me thinking. Honestly, a goalie-less hockey game (say, an All-star game 'minigame') would be unironically very fun to watch. It would be high scoring, chaotic, and the players would have to defend entirely differently. I'd watch the hell out of that.
@@rexmcdowd I feel he's an idiot and couldn't careless about his reaction. He's nothing more then a glorified clown that gets paid to amuse simpletons.
@@neonblack4486 Fair point. But getting 7 on a contending team when you are down so much shows a ton of guts. Goaltending was horrendous on both sides as was defence but you have to start somewhere.
If the wings would have pulled off the come back here, I honestly think they could boost loads of morale and have went on a streak and make the playoffs.
Mitch now joins Auston Matthews, Mats Sundin, Yanic Perreault, Wendel Clark, Ian Turnbull and Darryl Sittler in the Leafs 4 goal game club. Well done Mitch. GO LEAFS GO!!
@@Leaferguy23 How you feel about the leafs having the longest drought in NHL history Mr 1967 to current with no cup to show. Mr has made it to the 2nd round since 2004. Sit down.
Keefe said the team played a great game and he's right. It takes an all-time atrocious performance between the pipes to give up 7 from 2 expected goals, as the advanced stats were reading tonight. Glad we got 4 awful goalie performances instead of 1 at least.

Nightmare game for all 4 goalies tonight, but what a third period for the fans in the building. It’s ugly and one of those where you just take the 2 points and get the hell out of there. Regroup and try to play a little defence next game.
I actually don't think the Leafs D was that poor tonight though they didn't do a good enough job protecting the net-front in the 3rd period, the Wings were bad defensively all game but it was mostly down to all the goalies being sub-par, though I give Mrazek credit for holding the fort at the end coming in cold. Detroit is stupidly fast, I'm still in awe at how fast they started the prior game and while they weren't quite that fast tonight in the 3rd when a team with that speed has nothing to lose and is willing to make very risky plays piling up in front of the net and shooting everything looking for deflections they can be very dangerous. Leafs could have done better to protect the net-front but I don't think they played horrible D by any means, got overwhelmed by a fast and furious nothing-to-lose attack by a determined team with lots of speed and struggled to keep up with that energy level after cruising for 2/3's of the game. Most of the goals scored tonight should not have been goals if the keepers of the twine had all been on their games.
I was there in the building right next to the Leafs bench that night, it was an amazing game even if we lost. The electricity in the building from the fans alone was crazy during the third nothing like I’ve ever experienced. A wonderful game to be at.
@@keeshandave8603 1967- present day .no cup. Longest drought in NHL HISTORY. 2004-present day No 2nd round. And that not changing anytime soon. Theirs easily 8 or 9 teams right now that might sweep the leafs in the 1st round. And by the end of this season they'll be playing either Tampa or The Panthers...... Toronto fans are so cringe worthy its not even funny. Hate to break it to ya but your teams structure is weak at the knees.
Wow , what a game. Nothing was going good for any goaltender last night. But wow lots of goals scored good game guys. Way to be Mitch on the hat trick congratulations pal. A good win for the Leafs
@@LeafsNet whether or not you come in cold, that second goal on him can't go in... just like against montreal, this one beat him clean through. can't have that, especially after he just played a good game the other night
Mrazek let in the first 2 shots he faced here... how is he any better? I think that goal Campbell gave up when he was handling the puck behind the net destroyed his confidence. of course the Leafs defense looked like their usual selves in the 3rd.
Wow, what a game! The leafs nearly blew a 7-2 lead but came up with a 10-7 win in the end. I was so nervous when Detroit kept scoring in the third but I knew the boys would get the W
By now everyone knows Leafs blow their leads like no other... but this. This is ridiculous. The whole game is a dang-it. Goalies getting pulled. Goalies NOT TENDING THE GOAL. Blowing a 5 goal lead...
