At this point, I see no chance for the Penguins to be in the playoffs for this season. I look forward to eventually seeing a rebuilt team but I expect for the next few years they will be a non factor and repeatedly missing the playoffs (it happens to all teams eventually).

Nice work by our team! So glad Pickard made 40+ saves and we had a team shutout, too bad he can't be credited with it due to the minute that Skinner played after Pickard got hit. Also two players broke long goal droughts, Ekholm and Nurse, happy for them. I also don't understand why Pittsburgh can't score. We blanked them today and yesterday they lost 5-1 to the Bruins so they got outscored 9-1 in a game and I believe the game before that they got shut out.

Pittsburgh still running a system that was successful a decade ago, old and slow core players on the roster, and then they lose Guentzel. That’s not a good team.

Aging stars, not a ton of talent on the team. They should be in full rebuild but they've been stubborn to accept it and keep trying to patch over the flaws, but I think after this season it's done, would be shocked if they don't try and sell of anything they can. I hope Sid gets out of there as well, know he doesn't want to but he's very clearly upset about it all and he's doing the Pens no favors sticking around.

There will be some POTENTIAL big moves over the summer. Coach will be 1st one gone. He may not even make it a couple of more weeks. They want to keep fans, make Crosby Coach/player for the rest of the season. That would be really interesting :)

After Pickard was ran he had to go for Concussion protocols. So Stuart skinner came in to play the final 2 min before intermission. So it's considered a shared shut out because Pickard didn't play the full 60.

I live in Pittsburgh & am a huge pens fan. This is the worst pens team I’ve ever watched. Way worse than the late 90s & early 00s. The former had Jagr still & the 00s ones at least had heart. This team is soulless, inept, & have completely given up. They are so bad that their official RU-vid page has stopped updating their games. They’re so bad even their social media rep won’t watch them.

I don't think Dubas was able to do any better to be honest... look at what he inherited. His hands are literally tied with awful contracts left and right. This is a mess that is several years in the making. Time to blow up and start the rebuild.

Not really. They're both great but Stu has more playoff experience than Pickard and he was also the one who carried the Oilers through that 16 game heater, allowing 2 goals or less a game in all except one of those. Both Oilers goalies are really young and the Oilers need to realize that instead of trading all of their problems away, they actually need to work on improving the assets they have. Something I think Knoblauch has done a great job of since he's come in. Compared to the first third of the season, this Oilers team has done a complete 180.

I won't deny that Pickard has far superior lateral movement, something that is a weak point for Skinner.
