Everyone wanted both to come back when ESPN re-gained the NHL rights, but for some reason they instead decided to squash the ABC song, keep the ESPN song and simplify the hell out of it. Both originals were epic. The ABC song is literally based off of the ESPN song, as they were both written by the same composer. Preposterous. It wouldn't hurt them to give the fans what they wanted.
When I was only 2 back in 04, I could only remember 2 things that I can think of when I watch ABC's NHL Coverage, 1: I'm gonna hear either Rock and Roll Part 2 (Thanks Avs and Devils), Song 2 by Blur (Hello Pittsburgh and Boston) and Ain't talking about love (A Song the Flyers should've stuck with for an extra decade!) And 2: Gary Thorne, Bill Clement... and a Raucaus crowd on almost every telecast they done on ABC.
I highly doubt they will they are gonna use the ESPN theme for ABC just like they're doing with the NBA and College Football since it's the ESPN on ABC crap their doing now.
...and with the Seattle Kraken making its debut this year, the NHL is back on KOMO 4 in Seattle, KAPP 35 in Yakima, KVEW 42 in Tri-Cities, KXLY 4 in Spokane and KATU 2 in Portland.
@@johneddy908 only one thing really matters... The Philadelphia Flyers is back on the #1 News station in all of the Philadelphia market, one that's famous for it's Action News theme music: WPVI-6
Yep and I'm so excited that it's coming back to where it belongs. NBC'S coverage was OK. But ESPN and ABC'S are much better. I take Gary Thorne over Doc Emrick as my announcer for hockey.
@@evanhullinger2900 hahaa ESPN coverage of hockey is pathetic all they cover is football And basketball bad move going to ESPN it’s not going to help the sport.....and I know it’s your opinion but doc is a legend Gary Thorne is.....ok
This music gets me the hyped whenever it's every year of Saturdays during the Regular Season or Stanley Cup Playoffs/Final, I've missed the ESPN/ABC games... please get rid of the NBA!!
They might be coming back for 2021-2022 along with FOX since the NHL's contract with NBC is up at the end of this upcoming season. However the NBA will still be on ESPN/ABC until 2024 when the NBA network TV contracts are up.
@@Brentolini23 true, and he had the best Nationally televised OT calls, however, it's Doc that I've first got to experience... (2014 LA Kings Cup Win in Double OT!)
@@OfficialChrisW Cough cough people in Philly who don't have cable cannot see any cup until (at least) 2028 since 6abc signal is trash nbc 10 was great since their signal is better
This is the "Greatest" NHL theme song, ever! No other theme sports wise in Europe or in Canada can top this one. This is a beauty of a theme. This brings back memories of when Claude Lemieux was playing with the New Jersey Devils back in the mid-90s and when he defeated the Detroit Red Wings. (Let's fast forward to the year 2000): They worked very hard and ended up going again (to the Stanley Cup finals) in the 99-00 season. They defeated, If I remember correctly, The Dallas Stars in the Finals which aired on the ABC TV network. Gary Thorne did a magnificent biography on this super star player named: Claude Lemieux. This biography by Mr. Thorne was done during their second cup run and great thing they won it. This was a team that was looked down upon by Wayne Gretzky. He considered it a Mickey Mouse team if I remember correctly from what I read (back in the day). Claude Lemieux is the Greatest Hockey Player of all time. It is not Wayne Gretzky, but Claude Lemieux. Claude Lemieux is the true Great 1. Too bad he was not there in 2003 when New Jersey won it for its third and final time. 20 years have passed and no cup, but may God bless this team in winning it again in 2023. Remember: (Claude Lemieux) won the Conn Smyth trophy in 1995 when they defeated the Red Wings but Scott Stevens (in the 99-00 series) did like a bronco buster on Mike Modano. That was just a very beautiful Picasso by Stevens! Stevens was a great defensemen, He's Legendary. It was a cool Hockey Series in the end between NJD Vs Dallas in 2000 when they won the cup for a second time. The Devils were a lucky team from 1995 to 2003 because they won it 3 times, but things have to change now in 2023 & onward. Why? Their has been a drought. The cup has not been back to NJ since 2004. That last time they won it was in 2003. Please, support and pray that the New Jersey Devils win again. Go to the Catholic church and pray! This team is still a Championship team (referring to NJ Devils). Please, let us not forget about the greatest manager ever that has ever managed the New Jersey Devils, and that is Mr. Lou Lamorello. Remember, Mr. Lou Lamorello. Yes, Lou Lamorello! Last Note: The NJ Devils have to win the cup in 2023 because this will boost business for the city of Newark. Neidermayer, Brodeur, Claude Lemieux, and Stevens are gone now but the new members of this team (of New Jersey) right now have to win the Cup for the state of New Jersey and for its Fans. 20 years have passed and they need to win. April 29, 2023. USA.
If They Can Bring This Back, Why Can't They Simply Bring Back NBA On NBC, Oh Yeah, Wait, That's Right The ABC Studio Executives Must Be Greedy Like The Pirates Or The Vampires That They Are!
