Why would anyone think that Konecny signing is too high?? Look around the league at similar players..Konecny is a Great leader, most likely the next captain, can score, plays with grit..i dont think its too high personally and im definitely NOT a Flyers fan.
The only argument against it would be that he will be on the downside/overpaid by the time the Flyers are true contenders, but it’s tough to say. Regardless he will help develop a guy like Michkov both on and off the ice, so that alone makes him worth keeping. Maybe the Flyers move him during the last two years if he’s not good at that point. I don’t hate the signing as a fan, but I don’t love it being 8 years
I have no problem the player getting as much as he can get more power to him, but there are too many risks for a team to sign a player for more than 5 years as you can always extend the contract.
At 1st glance, and based on stats alone, the Konecny deal seems high, but he brings all lot of other qualities and character traits that up the ante. I have no doubt that he will be their next Captain. I'm amazed any teams have any interest in Laine at all. CBJ would have to retain 50%, then a 3rd team in the mix to retain some salary as well for teams to even think about it.
In fairness to him, he’s played on some bad teams with not much talent around him. Hes about a point per game player, which could definitely go up if he plays with Michkov
Verbeek will listen to offers but Zegras isn't being shopped and won't be moving without an overpay. Cronin praised the progress Zegras made in his defensive game last season and Verbeek likes size sure but he has no interest in perimeter players like Laine who don't use that size.
Great vid as always, Topshelf👍 Konecny is a good signing, he's still relatively young and the signing brings a little stability into the team, imo. Personally i'd like to see Laine being traded to Vegas. Know its highly unlikely, but i think it would be a good fit both for Vegas and him... Alternativ would be Rangers....him on the top line with Kreider and Zib...think that would bring out the better of him again... But again, not very likely i know...
Anyother who thinks hoglander is on his way out is crazy, just rumors for clicks. If he does what he did last year finishing top 10 5 on 5 goals then his contract has tons of value. More likley podkolzin is trade unless he breaks out
Did you listen to anything I said or just rush to the comments without listening to? I put Podkolzin on the thumbnail indicating he was more likely. I also said in the video that I felt Podkolzin would have a tough time finding a roster spot so he very well could be moved but the rumours around Hoglander didn't make as much sense to me. I said the only way they move him is for a really good D if they have a chance to upgrade. So NO I am now throwing Hoglanders name out there for clicks lol seriously If I was going to through a name out for clicks it wouldn't be him that's for sure.
I first seen Travis I was at a preseason game he was a rookie wasn't even sure if he was going to make the team but look at him now they should have moved Claude giroux back then that was another flyers big mistake

I'm fine with the TK contract. AAV isn't bad. Imo, he's a good horse to bet on. I wouldn't be surprised to see Briere sign Cam York long term now that the TK deal is done. It's clear they're sold on him. Both he and TK have really grown and developed under Torts. The only one who hasn't is Farabee, whose contract I'd like to be rid of. Thanks for the vids!

Good signing for Briere. Re: Demidov: as a lifelong Habs fan I'd LOVE to see Demidov in a Habs uniform THIS SEASON but I agree that is seeming more unlikely. Re: Nic Robertson: if he stays in TO he'll be in/out of the lineup and it will be a waste of his talent. I hope he moves as he seems to have some decent talent and needs to play to develop his full potential. Re: Laine: he's "mystery meat". I'd love to see him rejuvenate his career but I worry he may have lost his MOJO. Time will tell.
Zegras is regressing. He started out great and been slowly getting worse since. I don't see the point in getting a player that will keep getting worse.

In Zegras's defense, he's been playing for a joke franchise on truly terrible teams. In the right situation, I can see him growing into a valuable top 6 forward. But, he needs to get out of ANA.
Hoglander needs to go. He's not a heavy hitter, and isn't built for the 4th line. On the other hand, Podkolzin is bigger, heavier, and can play a heavy defensive game. I'd honestly let Hoglander go for picks, I can't stand the kids game
