Weirdest way I've seen a sports player injured (on the field at least) was a german football player who scored a goal in the first game of the season and went off and decided his celebration would be a helicopter spin around and did an ACL and missed almost the entire season, his side got relegated, he left the club and his career never recovered.
1:00 - Karma for Carcillo the Cancer. That was hilarious. 1:25 - Marchment was no innocent, but NOBODY deserves that. You can see immediately how severe his concussion is. It's reminiscent of how Michel Goulet's career ended, nobody touched either as they fell.
In 1974 in bantam hockey a kid caught me with but end and ripped my eyelid almost completely off, I'm laying on the table all my gear on and he's stitching my eyelid back on, they had to tape over my other eye because the first stitch I could see the thread and my eyelid being pulled up with the stitch, not a pretty sight, I was playing couple weeks later, no big deal, it's a badge.
I took a Slapshot in hockey one time. From centre ice. I must have got all of the puck because it hit the goalie right in the ear, breaking his left eardrum. True story
