+Franklin Diaz hey i have a vms 4.1 too but i have some extra midi controllers too my setup now: akai lpd8= remix deck D nano kontrol 2=stems/effects nano pad 2= extra cues eand other buttons vms 4.1 mixer+ deck control+ pitch control so my vms 4.1 doesnt have any knobs encoders or faders left so if you want to use stems buy a nano kontrol 2 download my mapping on djtt and get yourself fun with stems for just 40 box!

***** did you see the artist mock up of traktor 3 i really enjoyed that, with them releasing the tool for making stems will you guys be coming out with anymore producer centric stuff i remember giving feedback on the last one and you guys sending me an email on how what i wanted to see done with it i think joe made it a for part series on using ableton and sample packs

+Julian Marcus Thanks for your question, and sorry for the delay in response. You can definitely use the S8 and F1 as mentioned, as well as the Kontrol D2 (basically one section of the S8). If you haven't done so, you hold shift on your f1 and then you use the loop encoder button and turn to swap decks

+frank marfetan You'll have to import a Traktor mapping for the RMX2 (since it's not a natively supported controller) - I'd just do a quick search for that and download the tsi file, and import into the software. The Kontrol F1 will connect to laptop/Traktor Pro directly (one channel of your main controller will be linked to the F1 as a Remix Deck). The F1 is designed as a "plug and play" device so you'll just connect it to a USB port on your laptop (no audio interface necessary). just had to do a bit more reading, Phil. thanks again for the review: "With these controllers, the on-board controller screen shows you four separate, colour-coded waveforms, so you can easily see what's coming up in each section of the track. It's important to note that the laptop display in Traktor looks like any normal file, so you do need to look at the controller screens to get this info." -- I wonder why NI decided to do this, though?

Mike Ash Probably for speed of getting it to market. We expect Stems waveforms on a future version of Traktor.

Have a read through the manual to get a basic idea of all the functions, or go directly through the company. +helder miglietti Doing a quick search, it doesn't seem there are many options at the moment, but I imagine this will change as this relatively new format grows more popular. In the meantime, you can look for remix contests that offer free stems, Soundcloud (potentially), hip hop/R&B loops, and acapellas. Good luck! You have to wait for the stem creator to come out 1st. Then make it a stem file, then import it to Traktor.

Mac Joseph Stem Creator dos not let you convert a normal MP3 into a stem file. Stem creator allows create new songs in Stem format.

The F1 is mainly used for Remix Decks and for launching clips stored in those Remix Decks :) That means it's not mapped by default to take control of the Traktor virtual decks
