Our unproblematic king. Love this man and who he has become. What the 1D boys went through during those intense 5 years is absolutely mind-blowing and the fact that they didn't even register it themselves is stunning.
My life would be sadder without your music Niall. Especially this last year when things have been hard for me, I've played your music over and over. So excited for Friday. 🎉
This is my favorite Niall interview so far aside from that one with Tom Power. Niall is charming, personable, and always going for the lighter side of things, you can see a little bit of discomfort when Zane wants to see vulnerability. (Also maybe it’s about that “media training” 🙄). But as the interview went on, we got to see Niall’s worldview a lot more.
42:02 For those wanting to hear reunion and/or 1D talk and are hoping and/or losing hope… I found this to be a very positive outlook while still not having an answer yet. I had been getting worried that he was getting so tired of the questions that he might not even want to ever reunite.
I don't believe in a near reunion anymore. What we might get is reunion for a tv show, where they watch and comment old performances, where they are joking around and tell some anecdotes. Maybe jamming a little. But a full reunion in the meaning of recording a new album and going on tour for several months... no I don't think this will happen soon.
Niall has the kind of camera-shy personality of an amazing talent... I just started listening to him seriously a few months ago and I'm already in love with his sound and musical persona
My favorite thing to do is watch a Zane Lowe interview before the album is released, then we rewatch it after listening to the album a few times. I’m so excited for The Show. Appreciate the both of you so much ❤️
THIS is the kind of interview i was missing from niall. we don't only want to hear about his music, but also his THOUGHTS behind it. i love to know where an artist was at in their life when they were writing, what they were going through etc. im not asking for at detailed story of every experience they went through that made this album turn out the way it did, but it makes them so much more human when you go in depth with feelings and thoughts, without getting too personal. not just the surface level stuff we hear in most interviews.
This young man and his former band mates literally helped me get through the pandemic. Their lives , and little shows , the collaborations were all incredible. That’s how I became such a fan . I wish them massive success personally and professionally
Amazing interview. This is the kind of interview I want to listen to. Im so sick of the surface questions that get asked every time. I want to know thoughts, feelings, emotions and experiences an artist is going through when writing. Growing up on 70's and 80's rock Niall's sound just takes me back to childhood. I can't wait for the album. Ive already ordered and bought tickets for the tour.
Same. I love who he has become and the fact he is not afraid to talk about wanting therapy and digging into his emotions I love. I can't wait for the tour next year. The date I have tickets too is only a year and 2 weeks away!
My 8 yr old son really wants to see Niall in Toronto. He adores your music and plays his guitar to it every morning before school even though he doesn't know how to play.
That was such a good interview. Even though Niall was uncomfortable at some parts he was still very genuine and even in his quiet moments he shines. I love him and The Show is amazing, I've been listening to it non stop.
As an artist, I can see how releasing music during the pandemic must've been so frustrating. But as a fan, I am so grateful to have received that second album during such a dark time in the world. 'Heartbreak Weather' will always remind me of driving around in my car, with no destination, just listening and waiting... waiting for the world to go back to normal, not really understanding what the new normal would even look like, or when that would be. That album is a friend to me; a small token of comfort within so many unknowns. Thank you Niall.
Oh gosh I love Niall so much, and the fact that they started this interview playing The Show and You Could Start A Cult... I love that. Such important songs, such an important artist in my life, I'll protect and support him with everything I've got.
This is why and I’ve said this many times before but this is why I just fucking love the way that Zane Lowe has interviews artists. He gets n a deeper level without getting too personal (he respects that space) with Zane you get the real shit and no BS. We learn more about an artist through him than any other interview.
Agree! Personally I love to watch interviews but also I easily get frustrated bc of the host. I love the way Zane reaches the core without losing respect
I never realized until Zane had him on his plate, that Niall avoids the depths of the uncomfortable. And its beautiful that Niall seems a bit anxious or unrelaxed and Zane pulls out that guitar and settles the tension from him. You can actually feel Niall's breath change. That was very kind.
I love listening to just how an artist makes their music. I don’t want to hear about the drama and whatever else. I’ve said it so many times but I always just want to pick my idols brains on their music. How they come up with the lyrics. Or where do you find the inspiration. I love this! This is the type of interviewing that needs to be happening😌💜
Two more days to wait to hear "The Show"! I already know that it is going to surpass all expectations. Enjoyed the interview immensely. Relax Niall, you got this! The hard work is done and now is the time to reap. Take it all in, every blissful moment of touring. I hope I get to be a part of one of those moments!! ❣️
As a journalist I have taken so much inspiration from Zane and how he balances connecting with his interviewees and allowing them the space to speak. Beautiful conversation! It's wonderful to see how Niall has grown as a performer and an individual. I appreciate how candid and open he has always been in interviews.
Absolutely loved hearing more Niall insights and the therapy talk, thank you for this interview, cant wait for the album and corona capital in mexico city!!
One of the best interviews I've ever seen with a musician - excellent, well thought-out questions, thought-provoking, insightful, really well done, thanks!
Nial and Louis are my favs because tbh they are the two most unproblematic and yes I love them all but I’ve always have had a soft spot for them and Zane Lowe’s a remarkable human being and great guitar player too
I think 🤔 😅you’re right, yeah Zane did seem to be the one who had more to say or more of what Zane himself wanted to say for himself. But still he did keep a interview conversation style going.
He was SO nervous. He generally isn't at least never to such a degree. I wonder why that is... But I could see that Zane was trying to ease Niall's nerves by playing the guitar and encouraging him.
Niall’s music found me before I found the One D lads. At a massive crossroads in my senior life. Always loved music but if I hadn’t of had it in the last few years….thanks lad
1 day away!! Ive been waiting since heaven came out!! ( which honestly feels like forever ago) Its been a long 4 months! 😂 Im most excited for "you can start a cult", cant wait to hear it all though!!
Because of how much I loved the upbeat pop record that was Heartbreak Weather, it took a few months for The Show to grow on me. Now I love the album and adore the neo mellow sound.
Great album. Great artist, real, wonderful voice. Roll on for the tour. BTW Zane Lowe is one of thee best interviewers there is. Always has a wonderful approach, knows his stuff & goes deep without being too personal. Well done Mr Lowe. 👏
Knowing The Show, album 💿 will finally arrive tomorrow June 9th 2023, 🎉 and I’m looking forward to it. I know that I will be listening enjoying , and feeling every word every chord every note and every bit of enjoyment in the storytelling that comes with a great Niall Horan song. Thank you for the interview conversation with Niall and catching up with him this wonderful profound beautiful musician. 💜⚡️
Fantastic interview! Both of you sharing your gifts. Thanks! LoVe your music Niall! Favorite collaboration is Shine A Light w/ Olly, McFly guys, and James. Best Wishes with your relationships! Above all Take Care of yourself!
