I love how wholesome this anime is, there’s no “one is better than the other” sorta thing, it’s literally just Jesus and Buddha hangin out and being buds.
I mean it isn't like portaying it any other way would show a fundamental misunderstanding of the philosophies both created, not only that but it is also very like that the historical Jesus was heavily influenced by buddhism, given the simmilarities in their teachings and that we know that there was indeed a lot of cultural exchange going on
The conception of this anime: Employee: Boss! I have a hot idea for a new slice of life anime! Boss: Is that right? Go on. Employee: Jesus and Buddha are roommates! Boss: NAISU IDEA
@@Haru-nee that's actually a misconception. When people asked Buddha "who is God?" The Buddha remained silent and that's when people came to the conclusion that Buddha doesn't believe in a God. But in reality the silence itself is God. The whole existence is in fact one conscious. Samsara is just a result of our own wish. We are in a constant cycle of life and death and when we realize our true self we achieve Nirvana. That's when we get one with that conscious. That conscious can be called a God. But you've to realize that it's not a Deity but infact your own self.
Funfact: in the manga Buddha's looking for a gift for Virgin Mary as thanks for sending them rice when they ran out and didn't have enough money to buy more.
@@ErenYeager-wx1ir Even a fujoshi myself wouldn't cross the line. All I see is just a fresh and wholesome friendship. I have no idea how some view could view them as gay
That was weirdly cute. Like, we should find someone who we're comfortable enough to call an idiot, while wiping away the blood that is essentially their problems or tears away.
i remember seeing its manga on the shelf of my local bookstore and I had to pause for like a minute to make sure I was awake and not in some dream where everything is the same except there’s a manga about Jesus and Buddha being roommates
One of the many things that makes anime way better than western movies and TV shows nowadays is that it creates so many different things that would never be made here in the west both because people over here are way more close minded to new and different things than people are in Japan and usually consider new things just weird and stupid and also because anime does not need to worry about political correctness and that people will complain and create controversy most of the time like people must worry about here all the time nowadays.
FYI: Jesus bled because he lied not wanting to see the parade, (he lied bcuz he doesn't want Buddha to feel bad) Read the Manga. The anime is only OVA and its a huge cliffhanger
Omg, there is a manga! I never thought of it! I always felt unfulfilled with the ovas for being so short. Since I loved the concept of it! Now I'll look into it now!
2 episodes only? I remember it has more than 2 episodes and im waiting for it every week. I think they just removed it from the internet, probably because of hardcore christians and buddhists getting offended. LOL. PS: Im a christian myself but i find this anime really good and funny.
I love when Jesus sweating blood. Because literally Jesus Christ experienced "hematohidrosis" while praying in the garden of Gethsemane before his crucification as mentioned in the Defenders Bible by Physician Luke as “and being in anguish he prayed more earnestly and his sweat was like drops of blood falling to the ground.” I really appreciate to the company who made this cute anime.
Only Japan would make some thing about Gods and have it be complete fluff without any gripping commentary on religion and have it be more about a day in the life of a gay couple.
Most people in Japan are atheists and does not take religion seriously at all so they can do almost whatever they want with religious stuff without needing to worry that anybody will complain about it. They only need to be careful with Islam just like the rest of the world but they sometimes include muslim stuff.
@@niranekomata3383 Oh, that's kinda petty, tbh. I don't know how to explain it, but Pokemon is just a fictional story. And the creatures aren't even real.
To everyone getting mad about this: Why? It's just a nice anime with two religious figures portrayed as sweet best friends and roommates on vacation. Japan's not big on religion and so it's just nice to see two figures from different groups of people portrayed as men living a normal life (as normal as it gets since they both founded religions).
Tbh, I can understand why it's offensive for Japan to approach such important religious figures so lightly, especially BECAUSE they don't care as much or take it seriously. Especially with Jesus, since unlike other religious founders he actually is WORSHIPPED as the one and only God in a monotheistic set of religions. It's lucky they tried making it a wholesome portrayal, but I think people have a right to be upset about their only God being treated as a funny fictional character.
Well his whole thing is that he sacrificed himself for others... So in this version every time he wants to actually do something else (in this case watch the parade) but doesnt tell Buddha because he is being considerate of his friends wishes (shopping for souvenirs) he is sort of "sacrificing" himself again -> hence the symbolic bleeding. Buddha on the other hand starts glowing like a light bulb every time he gets to "in tune" with the universe.
Heard about this earlier and finally watched it today on the 26th of December 2023 and yes by chance during the season it is set in and I liked it and I hope they make more of it but anyway for now I think later I will check out its live action version since overall I pretty much enjoyed this... ...and it's chill yet heartwarming vibe 😊😊 6.13putc dec26 23
I'm Christian and my reaction: The Animation is So Good, the character designs too , I don't mind of Jesus and Buddha being in. An anime besides it's just a ANIME it's not really supposed to be accurate to the Bible and Buddha stuff
